- We're ready to swap the rear end with the new one we just picked up from the junkyard. The chassis has been mocked up with the original rear end welded in place. We're hoping everything will be the same once we do the swap.... Once we remove the rear end, we'll be able to finish the c-notch fabrication. We'll also be able to straighten out the rear of the chassis where it's still twisted. The roof chop will be continued after we deal with the chassis. So stay tuned 😬 BONUS episode • Straightening the chas... 🎬

Same as above, no bonus here. Must be hungry for clicks?
The link is to this video on the Bad Chad channel and not the bonus video on Jolene’s channel.
His table is probably flat enough to work off of and doesn't wrack when rolled to another spot in the shop although I doubt they checked. But the point here is that he isn't building a frame, he's modifying an existing frame with a twist/warp/wrack that they never took the time to find and fix. The problem was compounded by going ahead with the work while holding it down against its will. Slicing the frame and stomping down the back corner didn't correct it either--just brought that point down into plane. This is probably good enough providing that slice is welded correctly, but the process was flawed from the start.
Maybe Jolene is too busy in the kitchen slaving over a hot stove for her lord and master or busy washing his smalls to make a bonus episode this week😢
The continuing saga of the bent frame, comedy gold.
Been building cars and trucks for 30 yrs. If you would have researched the frame you could have had it done 3 episodes ago. Sometimes you have to give in and do it right!
The man building cars for this seft u probably did it for other people that the different
And let me say it again, they should call the show Half-ASS Knuckle Head Garage !!! It’s a perfect name for the show 😂😂😂
Ouch!!!! harsh!!!!
What do they should call your show?
Chad welded the X frame to a twisted frame......Mistake
True. The cross members control twist in the chassis. Also they are severely under sized.
@@mode1charlie170 I'd cut out the center of the cross member and fab a safety drive line loop.
@@mode1charlie170 agreed
You need to fix the rear end of the frame before you add more metal to make it stronger, you work backwards...
WHY would you plate the c-notches b4 "fixing" the frame? Do things back asswords much?? You need frame straightening advice
C-notch is only needed if you are going to bag a car, this all a waste of time because chad isn't going to buy bags and compressor, etc. On to next disaster
The frame should have been square before you boxed the frame and put the cross braces on it. You have made a crooked frame stronger....
He won't learn from his mistakes
AGREE.........AGREE..........AGREE
@@georgegunner662In his mind he makes no mistakes!! He is a legend in his own mind. The camera has went to his head, he thinks he’s some celebrity who above reality. It’s actually quite the opposite!! He clearly shows he has no clue how to build a car properly.
I'd love to see chad sit and talk with a professional chassis builder lol bet he'd have nothing to say
Don't bother this guy is going to do what he wants even if right or wrong all the carts he built are all unsafe.
TRYING TO TACK WELD FRAME MATERIAL IS NOT TO BE WELDED WITH A SHEET METAL MIG MACHINE. yOU NEED A 200 AMP REAL MIG MACHINE TO GET PROPER PENETRATION.
CAN ANY OF CHAD'S CREATIONS EVER BE SAFETIED ROAD WORTHY?
I was certified to weld on bridges and I wouldn't trust most of the welds I've seen on this build, especially the c-notchs that Jolene used to practice on..
@rixpix311 Ya I Heard About That Bridge Collapsing
...... touche
Luckly they will get moved over to the storage before anyone gets killed. More scrape metal
A person that owns a frame machine is smiling wen he see Chad cut the the frame to get it right
measurements matter
Is my fly open…?
I think Chad should drive this car on a tour with a DD speed shop
The guy new it was junk when he sold to him lol😢
most of what he buys is junk, the rest he turns into junk
did you see Nathan's face when
Chad told him to box the C notches before fixin the twist, like are you sh&^%$in me?? WTF.
Nate needs his own show!!!😂
Wow!!! What is Bad Chad on. tonight. His mouth is going like a flapper on a gooses butt.
Don't know how much you pay Nate but he's worth every penny.
Should have set the frame on the floor right side up and measure each corner to the floor. Then you could see where the problem is. O well. The center portion of the frame will sit flat on the floor. Now the front and back cut ? Hacking up the work they already did. Hmmmmm As Alfread E Neuman said. " Plan ahead thimpk. somebody goofed"
Yup, agree 100%.
🐦
If you're a good employee ...you can make suggestions but still do what the one paying you decides on doing....That's what makes Nate and Doug find people....
It's an unscripted show and the producers are the main actor and the director. Interesting dynamics
I used to say he was fun when he used to say opinion's are like belly button's now it's a laugh at the very people that gives an opinion lol also can you imagine what people who build frames for a living for hot rods like The Bowling brother's etc these guys understand the real building a frame takes I guess he's telling the DIY person it's ok to do it this way absolute BS.
WELDING TO YOUR TABLE DOESNT FIX THE TWIST YOU STILL NEED TO RELEVE THE SOURCE OF THE TWIST. USING A 4 FOOT LEVEL DOESNT FIND THE TWIST YOU NEED A LASER TO MEASURE THE FULL LENGHT AND CHECK EVERY 6 INCHES TILL YOU FIND THE TORSIONAL POINT. tHE LASER WILL MEASURE OVER A TEN FOOT AREA ON 3 AXISIS
Great to see Fina on the job too, treats, back rubs, great gig, princess Fina
Let's see what he does next that poor frame lol lol lol lol😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hello Team Hiltz, the complete team is there today happy Saturday! Geat work everybody! Fina did you enjoy your doggy biscuits?
Interesting that you made a fuss out of curving the chassis frames but left the C sections square and sharp.
Roy, I’m guessing it’s because the front part will be seen and the part between the two back wheels is somewhat hidden once the body is down on it.
chads way weather its right or wrong. where the 40 ? on the scrap pile where this will probably wind up .
Im thinking he doesn't have a 4 foot level so he's going to eyeball it
Not watching ahh, what did he have on the frame with a bubble in it? Maybe a level.
Yes, he didn’t see it lol
Im not trying to be a know it all but the front of the frame was not level. The bubble was riding the line. The table has to be level before you can use a level on the frame. Honestly all those cross braces would have to come off to fix it right. Love the show just wanted to throw my 2 sense out there. 😂
Hi all,
My first comment but watched a lot of the videos I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the roof with great interest hope all goes well.
There are two ways to do it, right or wrong...
No you're wrong there is the right way wrong way and CHAD'S way
Some new car are bad yes I bought bad one so give the man a break
@@kennethbrown5814 there is a big difference in an auto manufacturer building hundreds of cars a day and someone that builts so called customer 1 off cars

just cuz you stand on the front an weld it, doesn't mean it isn't twisted. soon as you cut it loose, it will go back to original twisted state.....
If that is true the why hold something that needs to be straightened with one hand and twist with the other or put something in a vice and bend it straight. You have to have an anchor point
@@knothead5217 You Don't weldup a twisted frame first then try to straighten it, that's basic, good news is like all the rest of the shit cars he builds they won't be on the road
@duconce
Sure thing there, "expert" how about you go buy one and make a video showing how it's done but you won't because you can't.
I think the front of the frame still is the problem
-Table 's only as straight as the floor is level. If you run a tight string from corner to corner in an X pattern. If they just touch in the middle, it should be straight
Nope, it's a 3 dimensional equation, if one end is high it can still be out of square.
Great show!! Thank you for sharing!! Love watching Chad and Nate work together!! 😊
It is so much more fun to watch when you guys are having fun.
You are becoming quite a team.
Great work again by everyone, but Jolenes camera work is amazing and just seems to get better all of the time. ❤❤❤❤, Joe
Unweld the front the back wheel go up weld the back the front will go up put your level on the side that ant weld we will all see what is going on you don't know when you weld some thing down both ends it well level what part of math you don't understand stan that man was right your fram need to be in half to get both sides strat lol lol lol
Ive noticed Nate doesn't do much tacking ; he runs beads. I don't see getting it absolutely straight without cutting it back apart.
Pin hole in the rear end cover… you fiberglassed the hole?… don’t you have a mig welder 🙄
Great day of work with all hands on deck. Boss lady making sure everyone is working.
Thanks for sharing.
Lets build a house and start with the roof.
You would have saved yourselves a lot of unnecessary work if you had squared the chassis before boxing and fitting the cross brace. Sure what would i know, only been fixing salvage cars for 30 yesrs 😂
That’s hot rodding cut, grind and weld.
You do have to have frame table square or your frame won't be square and that a fact. Sorry Chad
Vladimir "Anatoly" Shmondenko is the weight lifting janitor.
now chassis is upside down welded to table [33 mins] you NEED to add second x brace directly under trhe first one then plate both together. otherwise chassis will continue to flex warp.the factory brace was strong enough to not warp. you halved it because you only saw easy building floor you completely forgot about warp/flex . fit second xbrace then plate them both together
WOW GREAT JOB TO WELDING ON REAR END WELCOME BACK NATE & BAD CHAD JOLE
You guys are going to make the car look great 👍👍
It's official as far as I'm concerned Chad doesn't have a bloody clue what the hell he's doing, when it comes to straightening a car's frame. I was a licensed welder fitter for most of my life. I've seen shady work in my time but I must admit this takes the cake. First of all align the car frame up to so that the car frame is square and level to the chassis jig, if necessary use a couple bessey clamps to clamp down both rails to the rear of the frame, to the chassis jig at least do that much! before boxing in the frame for heaven's sakes man. You don't weld thing up while their still misaligned and then align it afterwards, that's just nuts, first align the frame then weld it up. simple common sense, should tell ya that much!
as always great and thank you all
amazing how twisted the frame is now looks like 2 inches twisted chad should have straightend frame befor doing any work now its not going to be right
\
C. Notch. Very. Good. Fit. Thanks ❤❤❤❤
When you are use to working alone it’s hard to watch someone do something even it is helping you
But it’s ok ,great job!
Rear end is leaking oil and he slaps fibre glass on err, LOL
Always gotta remember, 30’s cars and trucks very rarely came out square in any measurement you could take. We had a mint 34 ford chassis at my work and the frame was not square in any direction lol
Seeing the quality of road's in that era it's not surprising, today's cars are spoiled in comparison.
Getting caught up, look forward to seeing where you cut for the relief to get frame to lay down. Nice work capping the notched job.😊
A portopower in that c notch on the attending side you could push that frame back straight
e
Chad, Jolene ,Nate and Doug ,Your definitely making progress on the install of the 4:11 posi trac rear end . and the final work on straitening the frame.
Can't wait to see how the rear end shapes up...I like adjustable coil overs and adjustable perches, myself...We will see...
Good to see Chad wearing the Australian tee shirt.Vhad and Mate work very well together 👍👍
Chad, you got this , frame is all abt perspective
His table is probably flat enough to work off of and doesn't wrack when rolled to another spot in the shop although I doubt they checked. No doubt in my mind
I agree with all who are saying he should have leveled and squared the frame before boxing and structure. Said that in the first episode on the frame. Having said that Chad makes himself happy building "art" cars, not "drivers". My concern is others might follow his lead on things like this.
The comments are very entertaining......and fun to read.
No doubt in my mind
Miss Jolene takes good care of miss fina , awesome dog and awesome momma.Bad Chad your awesome too , can’t leave you out , love y’all
They all work as a great team for the show.
The 🤡 of the circus 🤹♂️
Kinda wish people would buzz off and let the guy just do his thing! Some of his ways seem to be a little unorthodox but the results always come out pretty good. And he's the guy with a barnfull of custom hotrods...what the hell do you all have??
Awesome, Thanks
Jolene the welding and your shots are very very coool. Make abstract art from this images.
I can't give criticism to somebody who can do something in a month that would take me a year
Jolene make sure you have a harness and helmet on when you race this if it hit's the wall it will wrinkle up like a piece of tin foil.
as racked up as his cars are id be afraid at 50 mph to keep it in the lane
Yes very kind of chad to volunteer Jolene to be the one racing this thing.
When the level was in the front the bubble was not in the centre
Why more entertaining to watch than to listen to chad flaping his jaw
No doubt in my mind
Tie down the high side and jack up the low side...not cuts in already weekend frame
Put the frame on the floor so it's level measure the frame horns radius and correct them cut the x braces loose relieve the stress ,its wound up like spring needs to normalized ,all that welding causes heat stress .
Just wondering… it looks to me that those motor mounts are way too high. The driveshaft should go under the X braces. When the front of the frame got Z’d, that in turn raised the mounts up.
I love the comments on here , most people can’t spell or make a sentence let alone give good advice !
That's not true budde not all of us are lititure smart but we still know what we're doing
That's not true budde not all of us are lititure smart but we still know what we're doing
I was talking to @ BAlittle
Case in point 😂
I pity poor old shakespeare
Great team work guys 😎👍
a simple 1/2 clear tube filled with water like 12 feet long can be used as a REALLY GOOD LEVEL AND A PLUMB BOB WORKS WONDERS. aGOOD FRAME SHOP CAN HEAT THE FRAME AND RELEIVE THE TWIST ENOUGH TO GET BY.
I've straightened lots of handrail doing just that, heat one side then use cold rags to cool it and draw it over...
No need to weld frame to table; C-Clamps could do the job just fine.
If Chad was a rocket scientist we would all be in trouble.then he welds the frame down then he puts a level on it then he says that's to the guy that says I didn't know what I was doing. Of course the frame will be level because it is welded to the table the joke is on you Chad the back is up now weld the back down the joke is on u lol
Yeh when he said that, I said let's see what happens when he cuts it loose from the table....
That chop is perfect.
I noticed the quality and workmanship shot up as soon as Fina came in the house!!😉😜
They'll get it done...its gonna be a cool 😎 hotrod...no matter what...or who says what...way to go guys..cya tomorrow
you need a Cushman scooter for your collection. 1962 on down to the 40's. not expensive and great history! got 2 myself
BOXSTATE COLORADO 719. I THOUGHT THE SAME SHIT ALL OF YOU WERE SAYING. 😂
That rear member was welded in and not functional why would be the only thing to go off of. That's where a string line and squaring the frame first comes in...Never heard a mig sound like that, it should sound like bacon frying, sounds like the wire feed needs turned down..
I really enjoy you creating things your masterpiece. I am 68 years old and if I could afford it, I would love to own one of your masterpiece. You guys are amazing. Keep up the good work.
If you frame table is twisted you welding the frame to a twisted table you can’t expect the frame to be right !!!
Put the body on the frame look under and see if the mounts line up.
It's worse now than when you started on it.
It doesn't matter that Chad project if he love I love it
Chad and nate are so great together!❤
Heck fire you will get that frame straight
could u cut 2" to 4" mid-body front to back (bodychop)❤
When doing a100% penetration weld if you can you should weld up. That way gravity will make the weld thicker and stronger.
The best way to get a full penetration weld is bevel the edges...
Thumbs up for another amazing upload!
Two the man who told him the frame was bent he welds the font to the table then he put the level on it he says to the man that sead he did not know what he was doing was the front lavel afer he welded it but the back whent up i cant stop laughing its so funny what school he go to
have a nice weekend Chad Jolene and Fina🤠
There's a reason they were called jalopies back in the day. I hope those days aren't coming back.
