  • In this full episode Gary has already accomplished a full front yard softscape makeover including removal of old landscaping cluttered close to the residence front wall and replaced with a typical Designer's Landscape of curves extending out into the yard and filled with contrasting colorful plants. Now comes the owner who has requested a complete paver hardscape of the driveway and sidewalk to further enhance the curbside appeal of their home.

Gary, you are the only landscaper on CZcams that actually describes what you are doing in design terms. I love hearing what you are thinking as you design. I'm an artist and I love composition and design so you describing how to design in three dimension is exciting for me. Watching someone lay blocks is kind of a yawn though. Thank you for all of your help. I'm designing beds to go around my teardrop lawn on an almost triangular lot! You've helped me make sense of the various plantings I have so I can make them more cohesive.

It is amazing how they can do this so easily. I had new steps & front sidewalk done this summer. My contractor drilled small holes in the sidewalk blocks and just lifted them out. Used clamps and chains on the steps and lifted them up, set the new steps in place the same way.

Gary have you done a video that would help with the front of a farm style home the front porch is about 3 ft. off the ground we just purchased this home and the old owner took no pride some of the hedges wer 8ft. high.

My Dad put in a pathway to my uncle's front porch last summer, DID NOT use polymeric sand. I think we're going to have to try and get however much polymeric sand we can into the crevices as soon as possible. It's very very tight, but some small grass seed, have started to sprout from these cracks already. Any advice?
