      It's weird to say, but the Warriors is favored in that series despite the huge difference in their record. The regular season wins are no fluke.
      A lot of these has to do with their coach Don Nelson, who was also the former coach of the Mavericks from 97 to 05. He is the only person who understands Dirk's game more than Dirk himself. Thanks to that the Warriors has every information about all of his weapons and weakness of Dirk. As a result Dirk got picked in the series, and without Dirk MVP level performance the Mavs lost the series.
      But there is no doubt that we should give huge credit to the Warriors for being able to make adjustment according to that.

    Just for some people who are blaming Chris Paul for that loss versus the Rockets:
    Chris Paul's stats games 5-7: 26.3 points, 10.3 assists, over 50 FG%, only 2.7 turnovers.
    The role player's stats:
    Redick: 11.3 PTS, 29.7 FG%, 23.1 3P%
    Crawford: 10.3 PTS, 29.3 FG%, 27.8 3P%
    Barnes: 4.7 PTS, 22.7 FG%, 15.4 3P%
    Rivers: 5.0 PTS, 26.1 FG%, 10.0 3P%
    The role players literally failed to do what they were for; hit shots.
    Also, Corey Brewer and Josh Smith started lighting it up, and Blake Griffin quit on defense. Yeah, totally CP3's fault.

    The 2013 New York Knicks underachieved in the playoffs. They won 54 games and were the second seed led by MVP candidate and scoring champion Carmelo Anthony with defensive anchor Tyson Chandler with good role players like Jr Smith and Raymond Felton and good veterans like Jason Kidd and Martin. They were expected to go to the ECF and make a interesting series against Miami instead lose to the Pacers in the second round.

    @tristanlecoz3311 Před 6 lety +51

    great call putting the '15 clippers at no1..but i think it's unfair to put the hawks on that list if anything they overachived by winning 60 games sending 4 guys to the all-star game and having they're coach winning coach of the year which is an award given to the coach of a team that overachieves, you can't say they underachieved by getting swept by the cavs just getting to the conference finals by beating a very good wizards team in 6 was an achievement for them

      OKC in 2016 wasn't deep at all...they played like 6-7 guys for most of the playoffs (starting lineup + Waiters/Kanter). I'm pretty sure most people had the Spurs/GSW meeting in the WCF that year, and after the Spurs blew out the Thunder in game 1, it was looking that way too.

      Let's also not forget that Adams has taken a significant step forward since then, as has Roberson. Dion Waiters was also worse then. Kanter was their 3rd leading scorer - this team lived and died by Westbrook and Durant, with Ibaka not being much of a factor offensively. They were far from the "deepest team in the league that season", that's hella far from the truth.

I know they were completely out of form by the end of the regular season but given all the big talk from earlier in the season on how they were coming for the heat and they'd make the finals they really underachieved. The had 67 wins I believe and the best home record and best road record and MJ was retired so a clear path to the finals and yet the lost to the 8th seed Denver Nuggets who were very young and inexperienced. 2007 Dallas Mavericks should be ip there too and 96 defending champion Rockets is an honorable mention.

    Toronto is consistently a underachieving team. If they don't do good this season I'll lose all the hope I had left. I wouldn't blame Chris Paul for never getting pass the 2nd round. DJ & Blake Griffin just don't want it. They play like they don't care about winning. More into endorsements & making money. All of them were guilty of that including Chris Paul who over focused on branding but when it was time to play he was more reliable.

      John Wang 2013 and, well, they only all played together 9 times that season because of various injuries. Kobe tore his achilles because he played too much minutes and refused to take a break, taking him out of the playoffs so everyone knew the Spurs were going to beat them since Dwight and Gasol were playing through injuries, so not really for this list
