    We test it out on the roof of my truck which is in desperate need of any protection it can find.

    I’d like to say I used mr fix 9h and I wash my car weekly, and if it’s dirty I’ll wash it 2 times a week. I applied to product and that was in April 2020. It’s match 2021. The ceramic coat has fully come off. So I’ll be trying nano 9H

      Nano 9H is still going strong on the side of the truck and on the roof.
      I am curious though, how many coats of Mr. Fix did you apply when you had done so?

      Considering it cost 1800 for prograde coating installed I'm happy if my 20dollar coating last even 6 or 12months. And some say to use a top up spray detailer when washing to top up the coatings as they degrade.

      Currently I like how Nano Age is easier to buff off and level compared to Mr Fix9H, though Mr Fix9H is a little bit easier to apply.
      As for durability, that's still to be determined and a follow-up video will be happening in a week or so.
      For initial beading/hydrophobic properties, Nano Age is slightly better.

    • @JoeMartinMVC
      @JoeMartinMVC  Před 3 lety

      Sorry about that one, I tried to use the onboard mic for the camera and it was an obvious mistake to do so. It’s why I normally do voiceovers, but thought the audio was sufficient in this one, but now that I hear it on my phone I agree that it dropped off.
      (Whenever I put my videos together I have headphones on, so it sounds a little different compared to my phone)

    How do you keep the meguiars cutting compound from dusting everywhere

    • @JoeMartinMVC
      @JoeMartinMVC  Před 3 lety

      If the pad is primed well it typically won’t dust, but you can also use a spray or two of rinseless wash or clay lube on the pad to keep it wet and minimize dusting.

    • @moejr14
      @moejr14 Před 3 lety

      @@JoeMartinMVC it is sooo bad and it dries and won’t come off

    • @JoeMartinMVC
      @JoeMartinMVC  Před 3 lety +2

      @@moejr14 There are a few things that can cause it to dry like that. A very dry paint can absorb all of the oils quickly and cause it to dry out, an overly hot surface (whether from being in the sun or too much friction with your buffer), or overworking the product can cause it.
      If the issue is the first one, you can use a couple of Meguiar's other products, such as their show glaze to restore some of the life to the old finish so it stops absorbing so much of the oils that allow it to work longer.
      As for any product that has dried and is causing issues, use a detailing spray/clay lube and it will wipe off.

      @JoeMartinMVC  Před 3 lety +1

      @@PayNoTaxes0GetNoVote Fortunately no flaking or anything like that (I've actually not seen any of the coatings flake so far), it just stopped beading and wasn't due to any grime or contaminants, it was just... Gone.
      Normally a coating will stop beading because it's dirty and you can just wash it off and it's good as new, but this was definitely just gone and had no protection left. And that was 2 years on the windshield, with frequent use of windshield wipers, because... I live in Florida.

      @@JoeMartinMVC Hey, thanks. I ordered some for my boat. The place we stay always leaves a slime/hard water stain in the gelcoat. The only way to get it off is with acid which makes it disappear but I don't like using acid every time we go. Waxes and sealants don't help. I will let you know in a couple weeks. I am hopeful this seals it up and prevents staining.t t

      I agree that Nano Age is the superior product, but I'd still say that Mr Fix has its place in the market for those who are either learning to use a ceramic coating, or for those who don't have the money for a more expensive and higher quality coating.
