I do not pick a side in particular but one thing's for sure ; Why would Nintendo care? The quality of Pokemon games has declined but it's still a multibillions worth franchise. Let someone else, with different ideas and execution, take the spotlight for once, other than Digimon and indie games (Dragon quest counts too, but the "catch 'em all" mechanic isn't the main gameplay loop)
