ur a legend
WWW bro
where can i learn how to gain stage everything where do i know how high i can put the volume of each sound normal i want to learn everything about mastering
@@lightbeatz3709if you are working just in a digital daw gain staging doesnt matter much, main thing is to dont have any sound going past 0db before hitting the mixer, a good starting Point is setting all your sounds around -9 and from there you can use the faders and ajust the sounds Between each other
@@lightbeatz3709gain staging is more of a mixing thing, just make sure you’re not hitting 0 db
gotta appreciate this kind of video cuz this is for the community fr
nothing huge, you get a very superficial view. He cant teach or show but he can do what he does while getting recorded. his explanation of Compression use was basicaly it sounds good, then goes on saying useless stuff like I use it, some dont use it, I use it everywhere, it adds compression distortion and loudness. lol
Hahaja fr bro😮💨🤣🤣
@@David-hs1bu YES ?
He barely does anything. And he says twerking instead of tweaking
Lot of his explanations didnt make sense forreal but still some good info in there especially for beginners
Boosts 20hz on 808
Mastering engineers: 🥵
44:05 for those here for his VOCAL tips since he has worked with finding the migos sound and alot of the people at quality control ;)
As Metro Boomin’ himself might say, not all heroes wear capes 🦸🏿♂️

This dude basicly shaped atl sound! What a legend! i hope he shows his sends..
what u think of this bruh, I used some of his tips on my home studio, czcams.com/video/zqqSIi2oF9s/video.html
Cannot believe this level of quality in a video is being uploaded for free. Amazing video thank you so much for uploading this
We need more content like this , really helping out the industry, my mixes went from a 5 /10 to a 10-10
cap.... im sure u can get better..ijs
literally the best mixing content I've learned from being a rap engineer , I've came back to this video over 5 times and learn new things
man its an amazing privilege to see a full mixing session with this much precision on everything. thank you 🙏
as I like this type of videos I would love to see more engineers here
czcams.com/video/gLBRkNIB864/video.html
Gotta respect him for putting the time to make this video. Learning from an engineer of this level really makes you learn
The end advice says everything : keep your mixing true to what it must feel. If it must be raw, not so polished dead-mono sound, go for it.
Thanks a lot man! You're the best. We really needed this!
LOVED this!! Definitely need to see more content like this!!
Loving all the gems. Much love to everyone involved who worked to be able to put this together
I have never witnessed a MixCon and not came away better then when I went in. Thanks Justin!
A few year back was going to assist a session for Tillie when he came to town... but Lil Yatchy never made it to the studio 🙃 so just hung out with Tillie while he was working on a Migos mix
For you guys to give this out for free is crazy! Thank you so much man
Thank you so much for this! What a talented and humble guy.
Thank you for the finishing touches I needed.

What a legend, glad he’s taking a minute to help us all out. Hope y’all can do more of these trap mix breakdowns💯
war eagle!
NOTES:
- 808: Boost 20/30Hz and 5/10kHz with Pultec. Paralel processing with RBass + Distortion or Paralel compression
- Kick: EQ to boost desired frequencies (30Hz and 10kHz). Paralel comp. And Paralel transient processor + resonator.
- Snare/Clap: EQ and soft paralel compression (3:1, fast attack, slow release, -3dB GR)
- Hi Hats: Compress a bit
He didnt put any compression on 808!
yeah basically that's it for the drums and a good saturator for the instrument bus, like heat or UAD Ampex atr 102 to give that analog tape feel
YO G WHAT BOUT THE VOCAL NOTES????
great class thanks tillie !
spent so much time on a perfect 808 eq damn $$$$$$ but i'm not complaining i'm admiring and grateful for the lessons
Tremendo masterclass! Muchas gracias
czcams.com/video/gLBRkNIB864/video.html
"really you just have to let the record speak to you"....that's exactly what I do when I'm producing...sometimes I might be in the middle of making a hot beat and I'll just grab my lunch, go sit on the floor and let it loop on repeat until the music tells me exactly what is the next element it needs
This was wonderful
THIS WAS SO EDUCATIONAL IM APPLYING EVERYTHING TO MY MIXTAPE IM WORKING ON 💯
Thank you so much ! THIS IS GOLD
This is literally the best rap mixing video I’ve seen on all CZcams so far! Thanks for that. That will be so amazing if you can get him to do another rap mixing video on your channel! Cheers!
Tillie my Guy!!! A talented brother and a good friend of mine one of the best in my opinion!!!💪🏾💪🏾✊🏾✊🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Great stuff bro!!!
Respect brotha. One love for the video!
This video teaches so much
Man for years i was wondering how they made 808's hit so hard and clean...... have waves, Plugin alliance, IKMULTIMIDIA, UAD..... and still couldn't achieve my 808 sounding at least decent...... This Video is a game changer
Honestly, I learned a lot
Sound selection
@@onewayrhodes6663 on god its just sound selection
@@tobirachi8952 no, it's not just sound selection alone.
@@225maine yes it is lmaooooo get a good 808 instead of trying to fix a bad one
Justin we need this things more.
Right now!!
Amazing I did it You made my day Thank you!!
Never take this down. Beauty
really covering all of the bases with the mixcon series

thank you for this!!!
Love this! Literally connects everything, highly recommended for anyone who overthinks mixing
czcams.com/video/gLBRkNIB864/video.html
I love ur mixing class 💪🎶🎶🎙️🎧
glad this is out i was reading his soundonsound article with the song sum2prove i was a little confused on how he got the 808s to sound so good lmao.
Two things that caught me was the API channel strip on the piano and most of all the Focusrite channel strip on the bell. It added a real nice dimension to that bell. Nicely done bruh.
Billiant. Thanks for us newbies.
That was a great informational video!
Thank you in advance!
Learned a lot fam thanx 👻
Legendary
Thank you so much!!
HR FULL OF GOLD!
Even the way he says hello is in the major scale

Appreciate this more than y'all know
incredible
Dope as hell
We need another tille episode 🙌
From what I’ve seen in this video the main focus is on kicks and 808s
Like using sends to perfectly mix them and stuff
man do I feel like an amateur, but I've learned a LOT!!! Thanks for doing this to help out us rookies lol
Need more guides like this! Learned soo much! Bless you👌🏾
I think the big difference in his mixes vs amateurs is he can hear the tonal changes every plug-in gives each sound and tweak it to his preference. Numerous small changes that make a big difference overall is the goal here. He barely touches a lot of plugins but they remain in the mix to change the tone. He either has perfect listening skills or his studio is perfectly calibrated or a combination of both.
esto es puro oro
19:21 mans "EQ'd" the snare without the EQ being enabled. On the UAD SSL, you have to click the "EQ IN" Button just below the LF band in order for the plugin to be active. He probably knew this and just forgot in the moment😂. Great content 🔥
Nope he didn't forget 🤣🤣
So dope 🔥
Thank you 🙏
SUPERB!!!
thx for scharing nice one
…music is another world
Tillie keeping it 100 with this one! Thanks for sharing. =)
6:34 As a bass head, i appreciate that. The sub box in my car is tuned to 34hz so i love the lows.

100k let's go 🔥🔥🔥🚀💯🏆
Can’t wait to get home and try the nls bus on my vocal it sounding a amazing on my air pod
The thing I learned about mixing is it’s truly about finding your sound once your comfortable rapping I suggest going to a professional studio even if it’s a bit pricey I mix a lot of my own tracks so I would hope to get my template
Just here learning 2021
Dope video
Awesome
