    I did the first step on my grays with the henna step one yesterday. I left it on for 1 and a half hours. My friends showed up in the process so I cut the time down from the 2 hours I had planned, but the results even with the shorter time was perfect. The deep copper color on all the grays that I have taken up about 25-50% of my top of head area and sides, now looks amazing. It shows me I did the first application correctly. I will be applying the second step for Deep Brown this morning with no distractions LOL. I love this natural approach to keeping long curly hair healthy and happy. Thank you for your guidance. No more chemical dyeing for me. Happy Henna Human.

    • @hx1487
      @hx1487 Před rokem +2

      @@rachel2417 yes, you can freeze it

    • @davinarasmussen
      @davinarasmussen Před 9 měsíci +3

      @@rachel2417this is probably way too late to help, but in the future you can freeze the leftovers *right away* after application. The dye releases/develops the longer it's left exposed to air, even in the fridge. So the leftovers from the fridge, wouldn't be effective to color your hair anymore. The efficacy of the henna starts to decrease after 18 hours of being mixed. Freezing it stops that process from continuing to release the molecules responsible for the color change in the keratin of your hair.

    My hairline is a bit low and the gray is right on my baby hairs and it’s super SUPER stubborn. Thanks to you, I learned that I should be allowing the indigo to dye release before applying. I was originally told that it should be used immediately after mixing. Since I’m now doing your 2 step dye process, I leave the henna on for 4-5 hours then let the indigo do its thing while I’m sleeping then rinse it out and blow dry. Otherwise the whole wash day is painfully long. Also, if you see this message, your henna is SO MUCH BETTER than the brand I was using before! I bought 5 more when you had your Black Friday sale 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽. Happy Henna Sooq customer over here. 🙋🏽‍♀️

    I had a severe reaction using chemical dye on my beard before travelling abroad. My lower cheeks swelled up, and my cousin was shocked when he saw me at the airport and asked what happened to my cheeks. I have now started using Henna and Indigo (1 step process). The funny thing is when I first applied henna/indigo 1:3 ratio I let the Henna settle in for a full 24hrs as suggested by some youtubers and left it on my hair for 4hrs but that did not have ANY effect on my grey hair at all, even though I had washed and shampooed my hair the day before. However, I used the same Henna/Indigo 1:3 ratio again 4 days later. This time I let the henna settle in for just over 3 hrs before mixing the indigo, did not wash my hair and applied the mix on my dry hair and left it on my hair for only 1hour and 15 mins. Lo and behold the 2nd time it worked very well and covered most (90%) of my grey hair on the top and 80% on the beard.........any thoughts Khadija???

      @@mercedezz It does seem to make it a little thicker compared to when I was using chemical dye. BTW to save time I now use Its pure Henna (very dark brown) as that comes premixed with indigo. This way I don't have to worry about working out the mix ratio of Henna vs Indigo. Very dark brown is just right for my hair and the company Its pure supply it in the UK they are UK based.

    I have 4a hair and am trying to achieve a red tone. I've done two applications so far with a six week gap. My grey hair at the front has turned a copper colour which is fine as it's just wispy baby hair but I'm wondering how long I should leave it on to achieve this. First application was left overnight and second was six hours max. I mixed aloe Vera powder into it along with organic pumpkin seed oil. Was that ok?

      If you want the henna to dye your hair, do not mix any oils in (even your hair should be washed of any oils before dying). Just mix it with something slightly acidic to help the dye release (I usually use tea or hot water with a little bit of apple cider vinegar/lemon juice). After years of dyeing hair with henna, I honestly cannot tell the difference between leaving it on overnight or for about 2 hours. About the same results, at least for me. And I would say it is less drying on the hair.

      I ended up with burgundy red by using only henna full strength (not gloss) on light brown hair by applying to the whole length of hair every time I dyed it rather than just doing the roots. After about 4 or 5 applications it was a deep rich burgundy.

    I need help. I used the henna guys indigo hair dye which comes with henna for step 1 and indigo for step 2. I followed all instructions perfectly. I left the henna for 3 hours then rinsed with cold and left the indigo for 3 and rinsed with cold.
    It’s been about 10 hours since I washed it out. I have naturally medium brown hair (3 inches of my root were showing) and the ends were bluish. I thought the black would cover all of it… my ends turned greenish black and my roots turned dark reddish brown..
    it looks pretty bad and the coating was even and everything but my question is, how long does it take for it to turn black?
    I wish someone had a video or photos showing how it develops over time. But I’m very concerned that it isn’t going to turn black.

    Hi. I have a question. If I mix amla into the henna, is it true what I’ve heard that it will help the colour be more ashy (less red/orange)? I want to use henna instead of box dye to cover greys, but my natural colour is not red/orange, so it does not suit my skin tone (winter). Thanks in advance.

      First, you do have to make sure you’re not allergic to henna or indigo. That might be a sign of an allergy. Also, make sure you have a very strong showerhead so you can ensure it all comes out. Use our Cleansing CoWash to help with that as well.
