Lovely video Gary. Even after 3 years and over 40 brew I keep on learning a lot about optimizing the Grainfather. Thanks. Cheers

Good tips Gary! Nice one for the mention (and the beers) haha. Gooseberry Saison sounds great - nice and sour 👍 Cheers

Some very useful tips. I always clean as I go along and it a great feeling when you've pitched your yeast all you have to do is to remove the hop debris and clean the main unit. I must try the 7 litres of cleaning water instead of 15 litres, common sense I suppose, but something I've never really thought of, doh! Keep the Vlogs coming. Cheers

Really excellent tips Gary I will use them in my next clean up. Last time I brewed I struggled to clean some scorch marks off the element plate. Nothing seemed to get them off except scrub scrub scrub and then it wasn’t perfect.

Thanks for the comment. Yeah getting the element plate spotless can be tricky. Barkeepers Friend (the powder format) is my cleaner of last resort that usually does the trick.

Gary James where can I get that Barkeepers Friend from Gary? My wife ended up scrubbing it with a green paste we bought in India! Yes maybe not a good idea ! We normally scrub the cooker hob with it but even that struggled to clean the scorch marks off.

If you're in the UK Lakeland sell it - if you don't have a local shop they sell on line. Other places may have it on line too.

Gary James thanks Gary I am over in South Yorkshire so maybe not too faraway from you. I will certainly try and get it.

Hi Gary, nice video and thanks for the quality tips, in one of your videos you showed some of the hoses and quick release connectors you use on your setup...could you kindly tell me which video it was please...thanks in advance...oh and i've took the plunge and bought just about the full GF setup, doing a brew course in a few weeks so will be doing my first brewday very soon after that...

Gary Hughes Hi Gary congratulations and welcome to the club! The only hoses and releases I have talked about are hose pipe and tap connectors for the cold water supply. I think that’s in the ‘after 4 brews’ video. I’m away in Holland atm so don’t have easy access to the web to have a good look!
