What does it mean to take God’s name in vain? It’s not really what most Christians have been taught. Knowing God’s divine name was a privilege for Israel and us. It means we don’t worship an anonymous deity but a personal God with a personal name who wants a personal relationship with his people. I’ve enjoyed the sermon, the Catholics like myself take this seriously and Father Mike says if you purposely take the name of the Lord in vain it’s a mortal sin, but 🥅 f you say it by accident and you are trying to break the habit it’s a venial sin I guess because he didn’t mention it.I’m trying hard to break the Habit and I stayed few months without saying anything but yesterday I said G… all of a certain and I was disappointed with myself, I’ll have to go to confession again, which I dislike. Thanks for the video.
