I respect venki ramakrishna but i do not completely agree with him. Just because we do not have proof does not rule out the possibility of having advanced technology before 1600’s. Fascination and assuming the possibility is in no way harmful. Like Ancient Indian philosophy, (in my opinion, it's Psychology) says, if Ahankara (identity) drives your bhudhi (intellect), your life will be in tatters.
Psychology is not just philosophy. It is scientific because we can formulate hypotheses and falsify experiments and support or disprove theories.
Philosophy is indeed important and it contributes to theories, but whether these theories stand the test of replication and rigorous experiments is the question.

A mobile phone really is a byproduct of science development over the centuries,led,lcd,electricity,ac to dc,speakers,circuits,sensors like proximity,light,accelerometer,gyroscope,GPS etc are marvels of science.all other people come way after scientists.

I totally agree with you sir in your perspective about science.i would like to mention a simple example m you might know about the Ashoka pillar in Delhi which is not rusting in spite of so many years.
with so best knowledge of metallurgy, we are not able to replicate it and most of the temples and Egyptian pyramids were also constructed in a magnificent way even with modern science it might be difficult to replicate...................................IF WE CAN'T SEE THAT DOESN'T MEAN THAT IT'S NOT THERE. with all due respect sir
