    Lipa Batangas Famous for Barako Coffee ☕
    History. Barako coffee was introduced to the Philippines in the 1740s by Spanish friars. It was originally planted in the lowlands of Lipa, Batangas. From there it spread to other areas in the province, and Batangas became known for its coffee locally.

    I have lived in Lipa City for 3 years. As an expat, I love it here. Not as crazy as Manila. Cheap rent, friendly people, and close to the airport, the port of Batangas, AND close to the BI to get your visa extensions done. It has everything that you need here. Great and convenient bus service, tuk tuks, jeepneys, and vans that have air conditioning. And very few expats here. If you want a bigger city than the Provence but smaller than Manila on Luzon, it's hard to beat. And the kids aren't begging, they are selling flowers for your car. 20 pesos for one. I usually buy 5.

    Many Filipinos food servers just give the food without explaining it, just like that Lomi they dont explained that it needs a soysauce and chopped onions for the flavor to be completed, if you dont mix soy sauce with onion on that it is not a complete flavor, Just like the Kare Kare filipino servers dont explained to foriegn customer that it needs to mix some shrimp paste for the original kare kare flavor to be completed, resulting for the foriegners to not liking the food because its lacking in flavor and bland

He’s eaten it in other places too thru the years, like in buffets at people’s homes or fiestas. But that vlog I mention is a cool one which focused on the bulalo dish & it was impressive. The vlog is the one in which Francis & Michael tour around the city on bicycle & a razor type scooter.

      @@wintersojourn9356 if Museums, Art Galleries, older neighborhoods especially with grand Spanish and early American and, well-maintained American era and Spanish era plazas and parks, squares, public flower gardens, riverside Esplanades, biking lanes, monuments, Spanish era belfries and fountains, grand churches and cathedral, heritage buildings both public and private - are your type of sites to stroll around, then the right place for you is my city - ILOILO CITY. I do it respectfully, most Catholic churches film and broadcast live online too

      Intriguing question, gonna try to be succinct. (I failed!). My opinions only as a devout Catholic. I think it is helpful for viewers of a travel & lifestyle vlog to see the inside of area churches. In the Philippines, the churches are usually among the oldest, most historic buildings in a town , or the site anyways, as the church may have undergone reconstructions thru the centuries. For the non-religious, it may be interesting architecturally, historically or artistically. I am thankful for any views of Christian art & architecture, & I also have personal religious devotion to some icons, like in this cathedral there was a replica of the statue of the “Black Nazarene”. The original is in…oh I forget but in Manila area. Binondo? Lotsa devotees to that devotion. I asked M to film the statue but in that church, they had signs not allowing photography. I don’t know if that’s a spiritual choice of that Bishop or an art preservation choice, as I know photography can be damaging to artworks. [We call it a devotion, different representations of Our Lord Jesus like Sacred Heart of Jesus or Black Nazarene or Senor Santo Nino (which is essentially devotion to contemplation of Jesus’ infancy & childhood). In Philippines, I think it is difficult to enter a church when there isn’t something going on funerals, weddings, baptisms, Masses in general . Catholic Churches in my country used to be open to anyone & unlocked 24-7, in my lifetime that ended, to my sadness. I understand that you meant specifically filming though, but to me, the benefits of respectful presentation outweigh any potential negatives. M. has been respectful, he’s shown many shrines & churches. Usually pretty brief, too brief for me! lol but I get it. He never has walked up onto altar area, for example. And I may not love but also don’t mind much being photographed or filmed if I’m praying in a church or shrine, as M said, many Catholic Churches livestream Masses & Perpetual Adoration & I think we’re aware that there is no guaranteed privacy as a part of our Tradition.💒🛐😌🕊️

    Napansin ko lang hindi pala magandang governor si Vilma, parang walang maganda nangyari sa Lipa.

    • @callalily346
      @callalily346 Před měsícem

      Why just mentioned Vilma? She didn't hold the position for years now. And Lipa is a City. Walang dagat sa amin. Wala masyadong darayuhin. Wala na rin kaming mga taniman ng kape, matagal na, kung meron man, konti na lang.
      Wala maman sadyang makikita sa Lipa kundi resort. Saka bundok. At maraming bahayan. Dumami na ang bahay sa Lipa, puro mga bahay na tinanim 'di na mais. At techno park. Pero kung school at hospitals marami kami n'yan kasi yun ang priority. Education at health. Bawat barangay sa amin may eskwelahan. At di mo po siguro nakita nun mga daanan sa amin, lalo na sa secondary roads, puro rough road. Putikan, ngayon aspaltado na.
      Kung sa tourism po ang hinahanap n'yo, wala po talaga sadya kaming maibibida na, at wala rin po kayong masyadong makikita.
      So, kung governance, Recto pa rin po kami. Kasi nararamdaman namin yung tax namin kahit papano. 😅

    Lipa just looks super chaotic and extremely noisy ! -- Not very 'comfortable' (looking) for an - 'old fart' - like me ? -- I have heard that @ 1000 ft above sea level it is cooler. It is reported to be a low cost of living as well. - - - Peace and quiet appears - impossible ? - - - Sad not to see 'anything' in Lipa worth looking at - a huge disappointment !!! --- Perhaps away from the city center maybe was better ? - - - Tagaytay would have been much more to my liking --🤔 but you skipped it ?!? 👎

      Was it cooler in climate the year you were there (as compared to other areas of Luzon)?

    • @johntaylor4817
      @johntaylor4817 Před 4 měsíci

      @@wintersojourn9356 not noticeably. Don't know why it should be cooler. No high elevation, no sea breeze. The climate in Lipa would not be a reason to live there. There is some manufacturing there and some tech companies I think that draw foreigners to Lipa but I see no other reason to live in this drab city. There's beauty everywhere else in the Philippines but not in Lipa.

      @johntaylor Ty for replying. I’m unfamiliar with LC, but cooler weather is high on our priority list (esp mine). So when M mentioned the climate in this vlog, I noted it. You have experience, & I respect that. But wiki did list cooler temps as typical of the region…. We also know of Baguio, Antique maybe? tho that is in Visayas so obviously more south than Luzon. & northernmost Luzon, I forget the name just now….

      @wintersojourn9356 baguio definitely cooler, due to high elevation.
      It's known as the summer place for the rich. I've been there a few times.
      Bloggers and comments talk about cool weather in Valencia I think. Search for GIO in the Philippines. I think he can give you better information
