    The Split bobber rig is the most versatile rig and it can control your bait depth to 20 ft or so. Or you can run it as shallow as two ft'. It's the rig I hit the water with, especially for Crappie.

    Assuming I use to cheaper red and white plastic boppers, how do I make it heavy enough to cast?? One split shot? Two? Bullet weights? What do y’all recommend

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 4 lety +1

      Qbann Loco usually the weight of the bobber itself is heavy enough to get a good cast. If you feel like it’s not, just add a split shot or two.

    My best opinion to you is you should have a bright background so everybody could see what your doing
    Second of all you should make examples with bigger items it's easier to work on
    And people should clearly see what you do

  • @justinrucinski7225

    not bad .. I always forget to use a loop knot like this for these jigs so I rarely use them.. I am going to make the effort to remember this tomorrow to see if my old stockpile of unused panfish jigs can finally get some use. I'll respond back with results. caught a lot today with a basic float jig with a small red worm and super tiny weight to suspend the worm off the bottom about 8 inches. Would like to see some use out of these old panfish jigs.

  • @DanielMt.
    @DanielMt. Před 9 lety +1

    How exactly are you supposed to fish that? Do you just cast and sit?

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 9 lety +1

      +Daniel Mtanous yes and no. you cast and let it sit for a couple of seconds then do light taps to move the bobber and then reel in a little and just repeat over and over again.

    • @DanielMt.
      @DanielMt. Před 9 lety

      So your jigging it only with a bobber on?
      To clarify you don't fish it like a live bait?

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 9 lety

      yes jigging but only with a bobber on. and no you dont fish it like live bait.

    • @DanielMt.
      @DanielMt. Před 9 lety

      I understand now but why use such a large bobber? Have you seen the small snap on bobbers? There are Styrofoam ones that don't break. I imagine you could make a rig that fits in a little bag with those bobbers. Here is a link to the image assets.academy.com/mgen/15/10216415.jpg.

    • @PhillipAndWorld
      @PhillipAndWorld  Před 9 lety

      +Daniel Mtanous again it all comes down to personal preference. the wing it bobber is actually really tiny. i always recommend smaller ones because of the less resistance it has on the water.
