This was big when I was a young woman working in the downtown area of San Francisco. Made a dear friend while working and she turned me on to Prince. Thank you! I have to point out the guy in the white robes sitting in front of the Piano: It's Germs/Nirvana/Foo Fighters guitarist Pat Smear. Word went that Pat Showed up for the Video shoot as an extra and nobody knew who he was. But Prince, who apparently had the final say on who was going to appear in the video and who did not, saw Pat and went "Like that guy, make sure he's in." Prince had no idea who the Germs were, but he recognized a star when he saw one.
Rick James hated Prince. He couldn’t stand the competition. He’d accuse Prince stealing some of his moves on stage. But Rick did the same thing. Prince had a Zorro type outfit. Later Rick wore a Zorro outfit. I could picture Prince saying eat your heart out Rick whenever he got a hit record 😂
He also stole Vanity from Rick James. She later was engaged to Nikki Sixx. The heroin diaries needs to be made into a Netflix series. It’s like a horror movie.
