I loved hearing this for the first time on the Sgt Pepper Movie soundtrack album. I used to call radio stations in NY and ask them to play it. (That’s not how it works, kid)
Consider that both Earth Wind & Fire and Chicago have performed outstanding covers of this Beatles' classic, it's a shame they have never featured it in their combined shows.
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 The operative term is “started”. With occasional respites, he was on his way into a long slog into writing granny songs, which would become the bulk of his output once he was free of the tempering influence of Lennon and Harrison.
@Jack Bettridge Harrison has nothing to do with all the Quality Songs McCartney wrote as a Beatle. And the only hit he had post beatles was My Sweet Lord which is a copy of "He's so fine" by the chiffons. Seargent Pepper was McCartney's creation. Most of the Songs on Lennon's Solo Albums Walls and Bridges and Mind Games are lousy. Lennon lost his Melodic touch once the Beatles broke up.
LOL the two years after this were his most prolific ever songwriting wise. Sgt Pepper and MMT albums, Hey Jude, Blackbird, Helter Skelter, Let It Be and more, all the while dropping fire basslines and enhancing the others songs too
I would say the ONLY thing I can think of about hip hop that I don't like: The amount of black kids that picked up an actual instrument from 1985 to now significantly dropped. You would probably be made fun of by your peers in the 90's or 2000's if you were black and were learning the trumpet. A shame really. Bass and Drums probably less so, but certainly a decline of those as well since hip hop became the go to source of music for black kids. Too bad, all these guys on stage are masters at their instruments.
Best Funk Band on Planet Earth! listen to this guys since 46 years now and it makes me still happy! love it!
They're the greatest band period!!
@@Charles-tt3dr Only if Funk is your favorite genre of Music
Just saw them in concert in October 2021. They are still Amazing ! Best band around
Fantastic soulful take on this song! Forever since the beginning fan of EWF!!
Sounds good got to get you into my life
IS THERE SOMEONE ELSE HERE IN 2024 BESIDES ME?I SURE HOPE SO.
I’ve always loved Verdeen’s energy on the bass ❤

It’s on CZcams now! 😁
It's crazy that this is originally a Beatles song, but Earth Wind & Fire out did the original so hard, you'd never believe it.
Paul McCartney said this song is about Marijuana.
I if I were a Beatle, I would be very impressed!
What do you think, Paul, Ringo?
Love them

Why Philip sings.I love listening to EWF's masterpiece with 💓Maurice's singing voice the most.

The absolute beSt!¡
Geez! Fantastic 😊
Just found out that the Beatles did this in 1966. I like this funky version better 😉
Sounds like a different song vs the original
One word...>Verdeen!

Sounds like the Beatles got together with Steely Dan
What year was this? 2011?
Any of the original members in this band?
Philip Bailey, Ralph Johnson, Verdene White
Are they a 15 member band?
How quickly the mighty fell. McCartney wrote this and within two years he started writing drivel like Ob-la-di and Maxwell’s Silver Hammer.
He also wrote Hey Jude, She's leaving home and Let it be a few years later dumbass

Not even close to as good as the beetles
Says you- is a toss up between original and funked cover version.
You're right. It's much better than that meglomaniac's throwaway on Revolver.
Come on! Don't be so fanatic. Paul love it!
Who are the "beetles?" Oh, you meant "Beatles!"
Apples, oranges comparison...why not just enjoy both?
@@GarrardA59 cause the "BEATLES!!" are better in my opinion. I don't have to like both . Sorry if I offended you
