  • Sometimes you don’t want to have to charge up or plug-in an electric pump, you just want to pump air into a ball or tire real quick. That’s why I like these old air pumps, they just work, and with almost no maintenance they’ll last decades. In this video I take an old, greasy, rusty pump, fix it up, replace the hose, and make it look like new again!

Great job on the restoration. I have this same pump and would like to restore it. Where did you get the replacement hose and is it 1/4" hose? thank you

I got it from amazon. If I recall the threads weren't correct and I had to cut part of the fitting off and tap new threads. I've seen some people just stick with a barbed fitting and use a hose clamp with a 1/4" hose, but I wanted to try threading it on and so far it's held. www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00XMUNL42/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thank you again for responding to my request on where you purchased the air hose. I did order it from Amazon and received it. I feel like i should be able to accomplish this but i can not get the end off in order to change out the fitting to screw into the bottom of the pump. My hose came with 2 nuts on the end and the fitting seems to be 1/4" which is too large for the hole at the bottom of the pump. May i ask 1.) how did you get the fitting off of the original and did you use the original fitting to screw into the bottom of the pump? My original fitting is a barbed fitting. I'm so close to finishing this....any insight/help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you...AGAIN.
