  • This is a review of the new Samsung Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus. In this review of the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus, I talk about both Galaxy S24 features, but mainly how they compare to the way more expensive Galaxy S24 Ultra.

    I traded my s23 ultra for the s24 plus cause i never really used the s pen. The 100 time zoom is more of a gimmick. With the plus now having the QHD screen now it's the same as the ultra. Pictures are really good on the plus and not as heavy as the ultra in the hand.

    I think I'd get the regular 24 if it offered the same charging rates and had the same screen as the plus, the fact that they tappered some specs down, didn't have all screens exactly the same with size being the only difference. I feel more pressured to go up to the plus to get the QHD screen and faster charge speeds. Then it makes me question the size difference from the ultra but then I still battle the price difference. Right now I am eligible for a 1k trade in on mine and my wife's devices. So with that being said we would only have to pay the taxes up front for the two plus models and then we'd have new devices, if we go the ultra route we would have to pay they additional $300+ taxes per device too. The no brainier feeling comes over mind to say grab the plus and run. I do have the S21 ultra currently which is about the same form factor. Was hoping to step down slightly for easier pocket carry and handling in general but that spec bump on the 24 is just less appealing. It will cost me almost the same amount to go with either the 24 or the 24+ so the plus is what we're leaning towards.

  • @dragoncaptain678

    Thanks for the help. I'm close to finishing my 2 year plan on my samsung s22 ultra, and I'm on the debate about grabbing an s24+ or s24 ultra. The only thing that matters to me is the storage capacity on my phone, and the s24+ isn't really any different. The only thing I'd keep from my old phone is the Spen cause it helps me with writing things digitally

  • @Torque546
    @Torque546 Před 3 měsíci +4

    Got the S24 Ultra, finding the weight is a bit much. Also, doesn't feel comfortable to hold. I'm always finding I want to put it down to use, instead of holding it. Also, starting to notice asking myself "do I need to take my phone?" before heading out somewhere. Not a good sign. Big weight and size difference bw the two (167g vs 232g!), but still have mostly same features as mentioned in this video. So I'm seriously considering selling the Ultra to a friend and getting the smaller S24 instead.

    • @JSLReview

    I have an s22+ I've been debating for months whether to get the ultra or stick with the plus model. The new exynos chip isn't a deal breaker for me as im from the uk and currently have exynos 2200. Looking back, most of the phones I've had in the past have run exynos, so it's not a big change unless you are coming from snapdragon. I've always wanted the ultra/note model but always bailed out in the end. The plus is an all-around great phone, screen size is great but not too big, and the battery is very good for me as i use my phone for work and personal use.

      It's OK to be a fan just don't spread misinformation like a lot of these Apple fan boys. Don't say things that aren't true just because of your biases. Example one youtuber that has half a million subscribers says yeah Apple has had the best screen for years killing it.WHAT Apple screens for years have been Samsung and they just switched now Samsung screens are better SMH. Or you should check out mkhd youtuber video where he took pictures with all the phones and no one knew which phone took what pictures but the Apple fan boys said for sure Apple will come out on top. Guess who they all consistently picked last in pictures. Apple was last SMH so don't be one of those youtubers please 🤦

    That’s great what you are telling but there is a big minor here in Europe. We get the exynos 2400 chip. How about that? That’s a real disappointment I think. Do recommend that also or not. And how about battery life on this exynos?

    • @JSLReview
      @JSLReview  Před 3 měsíci +4

    • @snek1356
      @snek1356 Před 3 měsíci +3

      From most benchmarks i've seen, it is worse then the snapdragon but the difference is very small. It's only really noticeable with a handful of games or emulation, there won't be any difference in normal use. The exynos does drain a bit more battery though, especially on 5G networks. I don't think it's a dealbreaker or anything, it's a shame that it is slightly worse but it won't matter 95% of the time. Definitely better then their previous exynos chips.

    I wish they kept the same rounded edges like they do with the regular and the +. I get it serves as better housing for the s pen, but to be honest i don't think I've ever actually seen people use it. I wish the same design was kept through all 3 with only changes to quality and cameras. It makes for a hard decision because I want what the s24 ultra can do, but not what it looks like

    I got a pre-order deal on my S24U, meaning the net cost was £30 once I traded in my S23U. I did not look at the S24+ as it is Exynos, and after my last three Exynos phones were dumpsters, I have sworn off them.
    I do agree that the S-pen is a waste of space for me, and I rarely use 5X zoom or higher, so a Snapdragon S24+ would have been my choice, or maybe the OP12.

    If you are a extreme gamer just stay away from s24 exynos versions. It consumes more battery, not stable, has lower fps and heats up faster than snapdragon. The S23's are still a better option for gamers, especially if they will have the same features as s24. however the software support will be shorter.

    Everyone should know this. I have an S20 FE on Snapdragon, a day ago I received an S24 plus on Exynos.
    Taking photos on the S24+ is very unstable, the photos look like crap in terms of colors and even detail compared to the S20 FE! The photos are very HDR in auto mode, the color rendition is poor, there are highlights, and in difficult conditions it turns out completely incomprehensible. I tried different settings and PRO mode, but to no avail - as soon as the shooting conditions get a little worse, the quality instantly falls apart.
    Shooting on the S20 FE is better in all respects than the S24+ at the moment. Only, perhaps, the video quality in the daytime is better on the S24 due to more advanced stabilization. And I don’t understand how bloggers compare the camera quality of the S24 with the iPhone 15 and other smartphones when it is inferior to the younger model from three or four years ago. Instead of finally making really good cameras and putting a good processor on the entire line, Samsung is throwing dust in the eyes with almost useless AI. Samsung are you serious, wtf is that?! Pizdets
    I hope that the updates will somehow change the situation, but I probably won’t care anymore)
