Looks like the Eurovision Song Contest (which is supposed to be politically a no go area) is a bust and should now be disbanded. The whole idea of this contest is to bring people and their countries together. That’s not happening any more!
Eurovision was always politically free zone, just of course if you are going with their agenda that is technically woke neo-liberal culture glorifying and politic alliance with the leftist west. In short double standards just like the UK and US politics.
Eurovision? Not political? Pull the other one, its always been political.
Did you ever watch it before? Its always been political. Only allies/neighbors voting for each other etc.
And even if it wasn't political up until now, it is literally ( from the sources) a non-political incident, that threw out Joost from the finals. Ireland is more of a religious problem for Christians and the only political problem is Izrael. Which I am not saying Izrael shouldn't be there, however it is very poorly handled, by Sweden.
Because of violent people who are bringing full violance and hatred the eurovision have to happen instead of these hatefull people
Turns Joost was filmed just after the Thursday performance even though that was against the EBU rules. He told the person to stop more than once and when that person kept on going Joost made a threatening gesture. Didn't touch the person. And because of that he is disqualified. More countries have complained they were filmed and that was against the rules.
You are right
An artist who doesn't want to be filmed? Why did he go to Malmo then?
@@ErikExeu you are a joke! There are agreements when artists are filmed and when not, when running from the stage to change they should not be filmed, so stop your comment if you do not know what is going on

He also threw shade and hit his face in a public interview towards the Jewish girl, which to me is poor sportsmanship. He was acting like a little baby with it. I like him and I like his music and I wish he didn’t do that but poor sportsmanship will not get you anywhere in a competition. he should’ve learned playing football when he was a kid
@@kornykorhorn He always puts his flag over his head, also in concerts. It's his trademark. He even did it on Dutch national television, has nothing to do with Israel cause he did it while others were speaking aswell. It's just his quirky personality.

His act was awful and so was his behaviour.

@@ColoringAHouseIt is.
To my opinion the camerawoman should be the one who should be expelled from the event by disrespecting contestants. She deliberately did not respect Joost request not to film him right now. If I was Avrotros or the Dutch party, I would sew that camera-woman and the EBU. This will have consequences for the future of ECS
I think the Dutch will just wait now what the police investigation find out. And when he is not convicted start actions they deem fit. Hence they could even sue the EBU in European courts. or the camera woman involved for all damages.
This is another first for the Netherlands 💪🏻🇳🇱. We sang the very first song ever on the Eurovision festival in 1956. We had the first asian contest in 1964. We had the first black singer in 1966. We were one of the four countries who shared first place in 1969. And now we are the first in being disqualified in the competition.
This is excellent news, it means we can't come 26th.

Look at the Trump trials in America. They’re doing it right now.
PoTeNtIaL WiNnEr...:))))))))
indeed just accuse as EBU member working there any country or participant you dislike and they can't participate. EBU rules seem to be guilty before investigation and a judge looking if the law was broken. If he is proven to be guilty then you can take actions like taking his place away whatever it was. Fine the Dutch. Even ban the Netherlands in the future for all i care. But this doesn't feel right at all.
The EBU is a private organization and don’t need to have a police report or conviction to make decisions about who competes or is removed for breaking their rules. They clearly investigated on their own behalf and ruled that Netherlands broke the rules of the EBU. They decide what is right and wrong for their show not the law.
It’s not illegal to use steroids etc for example but the Olympics remove people if they use them. It’s all about the organizations rules and they found that Netherlands broke the rules.

Because its spreading the Message
Because he was so impolitely against Israeli representative .
Bad move!
Never forget that the fans of this Dutch singer did pay for their tickets and will be there no matter what.
So the organisers should maybe have ask for some apologises to appease the tensions and a avoid to create more unwanted conflicts in the final.
After all the controversies following the press conference this was the one mistake ebu needed to get rid of the trouble maker. Joost did not fit their agenda, its that simple
He made no trouble. He is a truth teller and exposed the Israelis and EBU as dishonest. He was placed before Israel with a very catchy song about unity that makes the public go wild. It would make it difficult for Israel coming next, to compete with that, singing about war and hamas. They are the Maroccanoil sponsors, so EBU pleases them and makes Joost disappear. That's how the world turns.
Joost has not been arrested, there was no violence and the prosecutor is not in any hurry (could take weeks). Nevertheless, the EBU has both convicted and punished Joost, the Netherlands and all fans of Eurovision. No more Eurovision for me this year, sadly.

Wow. The official statement is out. Apparently a Swedish camerawoman kept filming him, after repeated requests to stop it. He then “made a threatening gesture towards the camera.” Nobody was touched, just a threatening motion after being harassed. Apparently that gets you disqualified.
Very weird that he got punished then, since it is literally illegal here in sweden to film other people without consent…
not sweden at all, she worked for EBU. He broken her camera etc get right facts plz
@@miggymiggyorg She **claims** he broke her camera. Get your facts straight, please.
As this is a camerawoman, actively filming Joost, the entire incident should be documented. We’ll know soon enough what happened, when the footage is released. Something tells me however that, if it benefited the camerawoman and/or the EBU, the footage would already have been leaked all over the internet. Best way to move the spotlight away from themselves and towards Joost and the alleged ‘crimes.’
He has said that to the police. He is now back in NL. Judge will have his say in June. Sorry but it’s all over the news. In Sweden this is official for everyone to take part off
@@miggymiggyorg Did he (Joost) admit that to the police, or is this the testimony of the camerawoman? So far I can only find that this is the camerawoman’s claim, voiced by Noel Curran of the EBU. In that case we will need to await the trial.
Eurovision is now where those who can’t sing or write songs congregate to show how camp they are. That’s it in a nutshell!

Then he made a threatening gestion to her camera. Not to her. She made a complaint to the police and then The Netherlands was disqualified. The EBU refused to make known what the incident was, suggesting it was a kind of violent sexual assault. Not at all, it was made up to not have him on stage before Israel.
It is reported by the press that from thursday evening on the atmosphere dramatically changed behind the scenes. EUROPAPAPAPAPAPAPA EUROPAPAPA HEY!
The incident unfolded at a highly emotional time for Joost. At the end of his performance, he saluted his father, a gesture that moved him to tears. Understanding the sensitivity of the moment, Joost had previously requested not to be filmed as he left the stage. However, after his semi-finals performance, a camerawoman continued to film him despite his repeated requests to stop. Overwhelmed and seeking privacy, Joost made a gesture towards the camera to insist she cease filming, although he made no physical contact with her. The camerawoman, perhaps feeling personally affronted, chose to file a complaint.
The decision by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to withhold footage of Joost's alleged "threatening movement" has only fueled further speculation and confusion. Releasing this footage could have clarified the situation, potentially exonerating the artist and demonstrating that the decision to disqualify him was unrelated to this incident.
Instead, it appears the disqualification may be tied more closely to Joost's controversial remark about Israels participation in the song contest.
During a press conference,s Polish journalist asked the Israeli contestant, Golan, whether she thought her participation might pose a security risk to others, given Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza,. referencing the pro-Palestinian rallies in Malmo during the Eurovision Song Contest. Swedish presenter Jovan Radomir quickly intervened, informing Golan that she doesn't have to answer this question. It was at this moment that Joost Klein, interjected with a simple "Why not?", that challenged the avoidance of this delicate subject. This indicated his support for transparency and dialogue on difficult topics.
His disqualification followed shortly after this interaction, not immediately after the alleged threatening gesture made days earlier toward a crew member. Additionally, if a formal complaint has been filed with Swedish police, the EBU should have allowed the legal process to conclude before taking action. Presuming innocence until proven guilty is a fundamental principle that should have guided their actions.

Joost allowed himself to be provoked by the Israelis into a stupid act. Against the agreements, he is continuously filmed backstage by "camerawoman" Keren Peles (the songwriter of the Israel team). When he gets angry and loses his temper, the Israel team presses charges.
Joost does not need to feel ashamed. Millions of Israel's neighbours have preceded him over the past 76 years. I miss the old days of Eurovision, before it was hijacked by gays. The songs were actual songs which could be whistled. Each contestant brought his own conductor for the orchestra, and the songwriters were all introduced. Most contestants were already established performers, at least in their own countries. There were no flashing lights and no acrobatics, just a proper song contest which everyone could enjoy. So many great songs were created, many of which are still remembered today, even those which didn't win. Whatever wins tonight, I'm sure nobody will be whistling it next week, let alone in 50 years' time. So sad.
Best comment on this thread. It’s about time Eurovision went back to that basic format. It was much MUCH better back in the 70’s and 80’s.
No, if it was like the 70s and 80s no one would watch it. Eurovision changed because winners take it all and everyone slowly copied what was winning.
I didn't read it all - so I might disagree. But my main point is ABBA
True. It's become an eye- and ear sore, a nuclear bomb on the environment and taste alike. And i'm gay. Bread & Circus.
@@martinhumble Abba litterally changed the competition to what it is today though. People just do what winners did and winners are voted by the public not by you.
We all need to VOTE that he should perform or not.
Not chosen by the tv producers or anyone……….
Umm if he mistreated a person, it's not up to me or you and his music is not first priority.

@@LL-LLLL9 "Potential" is the key word... Innocent until proven guilty.
He apparently has a reputation for being a good showman, but also really arrogant and hard to work with.
He totally comes across that way unfortunately not surprised
The fact that Joost Klein will not be allowed to perform tonight is incomprehensible. He's not allowed to participate due to supposedly “unacceptable facts”, facts they don't even want to share with us. Meanwhile, the EBU lets a country that is killing thousands of people participate, talk about justice. I hope Joost knows he has made everyone smile and proud, especially his parents. Let the man perform again next year !
You obviously don't no the difference between facts and fiction. You have been fooled by Palywood.
What a shame😢 Justice for Joost Klein, i'm so sad for Netherlands

We are so used to getting blamed for things we didn't and don't do 😢so yeah... much love from Israel and good luck to all the contestants❤
the irony here, it has nothing to do what you have done. so yeah... Much love from canada
Thanks you so much. I know things like this happen for the wrong reasons and I wanted a Eurovision event to go smoothly throughout, no incidents, no controversies and no disqualifications, just entertainment, music, art, peace and unity.
Can someone explain me what happened...?
An instagram post made by AVOTROS, a dutch broadcasting company (who he presumably works with), basically explained that he was actually filmed against his wishes, and he responded to this by making a threatening move towards the camerawoman who filmed him. According to AVOTROS, he did not touch or hurt the woman. Eurovision decided to disqualify him for this.
That's just sad. This Eurovision is a flop and it could've been avoided if this certain problematic country would've been left out like Russia was. #Eurovisioff
I'm Dutch. What an embarrassment 😂.
Yes. But just for him.
@@user-fz8hq4tv7n No, for whole NL that refuses to apologise.
Next video Dutch singer found not guilty so what a shame he was not allowed to perform in eurovision.
I agree with all, lets watch this tonight and see what happens.
Oh damn. Just when things are looking on the up your whole like gets turned upside down. Don’t know if I can cope.
It's not huge news.
🎉 Where’s Bert Wilders when you need him? 🎉
Geert?
He's helping 🇩🇪 annexxx his land.
Greet singer!

Bert 😂
If he punched Petra, he deserves a lifetime ban!
Hé allmost killed her 😂😂😂
Was he secretly straight? 🤣
Yep, it’s unfortunate it’s no longer a good old fashioned singing contest. I don’t particularly want to see naked gyrating flesh on prime time tv. Kids are being exposed to too much. There are other channels for that!! 🤷🏻♀️🙈
There can be suggestive moments, yes. But for the sake of kids and families, the show should not be sexualised. But somehow Raiven is… judging by the costume…
It is so clear that this has nothing to do with his disrespectful behavior in the interview because the Greek contester would also be kicked out because she also behaved appallingly.
Yes, he was already being investigated for the bullying Incident before the press conference took place.
Camera woman/journalist was filming where it is not allowed and without permission, after numerous times asking to stop he only pushed her phone away, what an incredible bi...h you are if you are going to report it, and if it is not clear now that this was a framing, sabotaging a potential winner.
Why does the thumbnail picture for the video have a picture of the Dutch entry and have the swedish flag?
my life without the "ESC" is a whole lot better...believe me....
Drop the BBC and you will flourish
Who gives a f..k about a crappy european /bbc show

nobody....
@@stratman9449 Except for you, obviously.
I'm really curious about what this 'threatening gesture' actually entailed
Are we really interested in this crass European music contest where votes are rigged and the songs are awful😢
If you can't like songs like La Noia, you have no taste, Accept it
Eurovision is no place for harassment of any kind
Then why do they keep beaming it into my living room. 😂
unless they are israeli or disrespect an entire countries flag of course , it needs scrapping , it was supposed to be an event of no politics to bring together , its now been hijacked by the bigoted far left authoritarians
Holy shit!
Eurovision was never desperately overly sexualised and I can never remember seeing or even being reported of fully armed police😢
What a state of affairs😕
This is what happens when you let children run a country 😟
What's wrong with being sexualized?
Oh, you mean Raiven with her outfit during her SF1 performance? Yeah that felt sexualised to me.
@user-gu7lv9gk8m because it's not about that and it never was intended to be.

Malmö used to be one of the great cities of Europe. Now, I'm not so sure anymore...
.. .what happened exactly?
Why not settle with apologies? If nobody was touched.
because the camera (woman) annoyingly followed him after his performance,
despite agreements not to do so. and only stop after repeatedly asking.
he merely made a threatening gesture towards the camera.
that's it he didn't touch anyone.
according to the official Dutch delegation
Why didnt he stay in Holland then, if he goes to Eurovision he must expect to be filmed. NL - don't join the next 20 years please.
@@ErikExeu yeah like 'if you are an artist you have no right' complete bs you are stating, the area they were in was a non filming area the production has agreed with, and broke their own rules
@@ErikExeu so the artists have no rights whatsoever? if you compede you can be filmed, even when your taking a dump. because that's what your saying.
doesn't matter , if you make agreements to not do this or that. your here now so i'm gonna film you, even when you are literally filled with adrenaline, incredibly vulnerable, ask 2 times not to be filmed, torn open an incedablly hurtfull wound in memory of your parents. and then you do not touch anyone, at any time, no you make a gesture at the CAMERA. and that enough to get disqualified.
not repremanded, nor have a talk, or apoligize, or anything. no disqualified.
Vote Croatia, dont let the dirty politics to win.
So, since you believe political issues should be left apart, I guess you'd be perfectly fine with a singer representing Hamas in Eurovision, yes?
I’m devastated
