    So this is the FIRST time I heard this song and performance from 2013. What a wonderful song and performance! They both sing so good and you can tell they are having the time of their lives doing it. The queen of ABBA does it again!

    2013 was a huge year for Agnetha. Television interviews in English, travel to London, this performance, public appearances, and a hit album. And then... just quietly receded back into her private life. Truly one of the world's most fascinating women.

    Agnetha what an exceptional humble Queen!And Gary a talented gentleman.Both parts were recorded separately.When she heard the demo with Gary's voice she felt little insecure n' said"Oh my how can i match to this?".Then she recorded her part.When Gary was sent the final mix he could'nt believe how great they sounded.Finally they met in London due to Gary's insistence.And after some months he also convinced her to sing this live for the 1st time after decades of her absence from the stage.

      oh WOW! I did not know this background. There was a documentary about Agnetta many years ago. It was in itself unusual because after retiring, she became very private. She said that after the band broke up, she was so burned out on music and singing that she got rid of her records, recordings, sound systems, etc. Also, she went through a difficult period emotionally. I don't remember the details and even if I did, I wouldn't talk about it. But I can understand that she might need/want to prepare for being onstage again. And she was AMAZING.

      @@sifridbassoonI had seen that too.Fortunately times changed since then.She came back and recorded 2 hit solo albums 'My coloring book' mid ''00s(with favourite song covers by her, from her chidhood/teenage years and 'A' 2013,even more succesful,from which this song came out.And of course the 2017/2021 VOYAGE recordings for ABBA's Glorious comeback that gave us fans some fresh air from the past,( to breath and dream again.)

    Love this! You can clearly see the admiration in Gary Barlow's eyes. In fact, before this performance he introduced her something like this: "This young lady hasn't been on stage for 25 years... I can't believe I'm gonna perform with one of ABBA!" How adorable and yes, he should definitely have followed her home! 😆

    You can see the audience was blown away when Agnetha came out and started to sing. She sounds like an angel. It's also a beautiful song. And as always, she is so humble and so gracious.... like it was a privilege for her personally to have been invited. As big a star as she is. It's so genuine and so wonderful to see. This particular performance of this song is truly better than the actual recording on her solo album. Magnificent.

      I love all the ABBA you've been doing. The absolute highlight, for me anyway, in 2021, was the release of Voyage. I'd been waiting since 1981 when I was 13 years old. Because of them I love everything Swedish. My last 4 cars, including the current one, were all Volvo. In April/May of 2013 I flew to Stockholm to visit the just-opened ABBA, THE MUSEUM. It was my first time in Sweden. Absolutely beautiful. The land, the lakes, the city, the people...everything. I would give a testicle to go back again for another visit. I have told everyone that Stockholm is as beautiful if not more so than Paris....minus all the tourists and the attitude toward Americans. I do believe the absolute highlight however was staying at the Hotel Rival for 11 days and 10 nights. The place is owned and run by Benny Andersson of ABBA. Absolutely glorious!!! My entire trip was planned and based upon ABBA. Most unique experience of my life. The four of them are Gods and Goddesses to me. And how truly blessed I am to have such good taste. So very grateful. And indeed...I do love your program. You have excellent taste, an appreciation for quality, you are thoughtful and sincere, and your reaction to ABBA'S first announcement in September was priceless. You made me laugh and you made me cry. I have no idea how the hell I stumbled upon you. I was probably doing ABBA research and you suddenly appeared. So I've been enjoying you ever since. All the best to you and your family in 2022.

    I love this song and it’s amazing to me that even after all these years Agnetha doesn’t realise how fantastic her voice is. She’s so humble and modest, as are all of Abba. This was from the BBC show Children in Need. Can you imagine being in the audience that night! Gary Barlow is such a talented songwriter and this duet is just fabulous 😊. So glad he persuaded her to sing live with him, she was very reluctant to do it but we’re so lucky that she agreed.

    I remember so clearly watching this for the first time when it was broadcast here in the UK. This was Agnetha’s first live appearance in 25 years. After all that had been written about her and the rumours about her and the heartbreak she had dealt with in her life post-ABBA, it was very emotional seeing her arrive on stage so cool, confident and enjoying herself like this. I was a very proud fan watching this.

    Gary Barlow seems in awe of her! he is from a very famous boy 90s band in the UK called Take That (along with Robbie Williams, who you also might have heard of), and he was the best singer in that band, imo.

He was bowled over and totally star struck that he might not only get to meet the Legend and MEGA influence on him but actually sing with her …. WHAT ???? Apart from this beautiful song 2013 was the year Aggy recorded one of her best ever solo tracks "DANCE YOUR PAIN AWAY".A glorious funky track and very close to Abba's "VOULEZ VOUS?" era.Another one was back in 1988 the power pop rock ballad "THE LAST TIME".That great one sounds as close to Abba as Agnetha is to her mother tongue.

    Yes this is a fantastic song from Agnetha's 2013 album 'A'. Why there wasn't a great music video done for this song and not a major hit is just beyond me ....?

As an ABBA fam since 1974, I could not miss any new album from Agnetha ;) I've listened to this live over and over again and never got enough ! Have a good day !

    I loved this performance when I first saw it and still do. It was one of several things that lead me to believe that ABBA were moving closer to re-uniting. Agnetha basically came out of self imposed isolation from live performance and was persuaded to sing to an audience again. I felt at the time and hoped that it would all fall into place and we would hear from ABBA at least one more time. it took another seven years, but it was absolutely worth the wait.

    • @GivenToe
      @GivenToe  Před 2 lety +3

      Live. 100%. You can hear it cause at one time you can see she sings and notices her mic had a slightly lower volume, so she corrects herself by singing a bit louder
