- Do you guys remember this concert? This is the VERY FIRST concert that I've uploaded on my channel! The original description was very short, and contained nothing interesting. This new description contains the "classic" Gregsynthbootlegs outline (quality, vocal shape, etc), and will be much better! Despite being a bit incomplete (this recording misses "Now I'm Here" and everything after "Tie Your Mother Down"), this show ranks high on my "favorites" list, and is among one of the best shows on the tour! The audience is very enthusiastic, and every song sounds strong!
Freddie's voice is in superb shape for this show, and he delivers many versions of songs that wouldn't sound out of place on the Crazy Tour! He sings excellent versions of the fast "We Will Rock You," "Let Me Entertain You" (where he sings album phrasing in spots), "Need Your Loving Tonight" (nails the whole thing--best version ever), "Play The Game" (top 10 version), "Mustapha," "Death On Two Legs" (probably the best "medley" version), "Somebody To Love," "Save Me" (best version on the tour), "Fat Bottomed Girls," "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "Bohemian Rhapsody," and "Tie Your Mother Down." This is also the last known recording where Freddie still had the "Crazy Tour edge" to his voice--later recordings on the 1980 tour have him sounding more "macho" and he would start to really oversing songs! The rest of the band are in strong form as well (brilliant solos from Brian and Roger)!
ENJOY!!!
Note: Thank Ikeisbo for making me update this description! I spent 30 minutes trying to think of stuff! - Hudba
He still got his 70s voice here
@BLAZE yeap exactly what you said
4:16 this is my favourite part of this version
by this time, Freddie was at his peak! THIS is his best voice! Clean, powerful and steady as well!
Freddie was always at peak
@@pbswapno4623 4/25/79
4:19 the outro sounds so much like the studio version!
0:21 best time hes ever sung that, the tone is perfect and the vibrato is amazing
0:25 sung EXACTLY like hammersmith
“Tomorrow” was hit i think and the “Carry on” is beautiful.
1:20 better than any hot space version including wurzburg, he has vibrato on “all”
1:39 a weak “born at all”
Even tho he doesnt hit all the notes, this has to be the best US version and possibly second best Game tour version besides montreal. Hartford can tie this because he has crazy tour phrasing in both verses but he sounds extremely rough and forced there.
except he sings it more forcefully rather than just naturally letting it out in the crazy tour
omg! his voice sounds like Crazy Tour, awesome!
This is the closet to 70's Freddie's voice as your going to get.
Queen Fan Well, you know asides from 70’s Freddie himself
Bohemian rhapsody LIVE版最高過ぎます‼️ この曲を聴いていつも頑張っています‼️これからもqueenの曲を聴いて頑張っていきたいと思います‼️
Awesome version.
I was there, with my brother, and 2 cousins! Now with the movie, wow, so glad we got to see them live! They were amazing, and it was treat to see them here in Northern California! The movie Bohemian Rhapsody is in my opinion was perfect! It had the perfect amount of everything, and it was a great tribute to the band and Freddie! They were never got the acclaim here in the states during their heyday like other bands of that era, Van Halen, Aerosmith, etc.. In my opinion Queen had a deeper musical talent, and so with that came the idiot critics who did not understand greatness! Funny they were so popular worldwide except here in the USA, they were always criticized. Meanwhile they played sold out Soccer Stadiums around the world, and the first band to play for 100,000 audience in Rio! Just like the critics of today of the movie...deja vu? This time the public has spoken! Screw the critics! They were wrong then, and they are wrong now! Great Music never dies, they left us great songs, and possibly one of the greatest rock songs ever written. For those that only know the pop hits, go and buy Night at the Opera, Day at the Races, Jazz and Sheer Heart Attack. That is the music that gave them world acclaim. I also would recommend the DVD or BLU-Ray of Queen live at Wembley 1986.
I was there, too! It was my second time seeing them live and I would see them one more time in 1982. You couldn't have said it better. I was going to make all these comments but you already said it all! LOL my sentiments exactly! I was crazy for Queen then and now. 🤩
Nice voice, it sounds perfectly like a 70s concert (except some lines in the hard rock section)
Crazy Tour '79 voice. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
If only We Will Rock You and We Are The Champions were recorded i bet they sounded amazing
I was there..!!
Lucky ass
I wasn’t even a thought but would give up my life now to live in the 70s 80s erw
So glad it’s available again
1:31 - 1:33 LOVE IT!!!!
he still got the "70s" voice here. did he intetionally changed his voice 80s onwards?
it was a change of style and personality from Freddie, in the early 70's Freddie had a delicate and feminine appearance, this was reflected in his singing.
But his voice has also changed over the years, yes in Oakland sound soft but see how he sounds more like a kid or something here in 1976, his voice was more young czcams.com/video/D2fgFglbb1g/video.html
No C5, what did you expect?
Seriously, the ballad part sounds great with high notes, and fresh tone, like A Night At The Opera Tour voice with Crazy Tour phrasing!
This Is Oakland, The Excitement Place In California.
1:20 Hot space phrasing.
Freddie, you are so special :')
Won tickets on KFRC. Best concert I ever attended!
It's a superb performance!
It's a nice place, very beautiful landscape!
@Gregsynthbootlegs oh, thnx coz i love that waving sound at the end of the verse
excellent show from freddie that day
I like his voice at this time, sounded similar to the 70s, very unique. In the 80s, especially in the work tours, his voice was totally morphed
Wow his voice sounds amazing there as does the rest of the band!
4:20
yeah !
Fantastic version! A little oversung, but pretty good!
I agree !!!
i saw a Queen show in Cincinnati Ohio Nov 1978 Cool Concert too bad there isn't a dvd or cd of it.
Great performance. But what do you think, which bootleg's audio quality with Bohrap in setlist is worst?
Hanover 9/22/84, the one with Hammer to Fall (Down the Stairs) is a C quality show
@Joaquín Ortiz Thanks for replying to my 7 years old comment. Second Sao Paulo is probably the worst "definitive" recording at the moment.
7 years ago, lol.
Life had jUuUuUust begun
O-VER-SUNG!
it's a bit oversung, but not as bad as later versions!
Not really
It’s not as bad as it becomes in ‘81 and ‘82 but he’s starting to modify a lot of words to open vowels here.
What do you mean Simon?
It's normal
i hear ya
me too
Hot space phrasing
Sound almost just like Hot space
is oakland your hometown, Greg?
I'd always like to sing this song like freddie, but my voice crack and sound like I'm yelling at least I try to sing like him, but nobody can be like freddie he is a god! He is my god! :)
4:20 looks like the album version!!
What about 78 notw tour? What about summer 76 gigs?
@Gregsynthbootlegs oh, coz i heard a new instrument at 0:52
3:22 Sounds exactly like Wembley Stadium 1986
rock section
0:25 sounds identical to hammersmith 1979
Not, its here forced note.
It's Hammersmith, note clean it's not oversinging
It's the Crazy Tour phrasing
Also you can here the loss of annunciation here, he sings it like “thrawn” rather than “thrown”.
He is kinda screaming the notes, the bb4s are better in Hammy, but the A4 in “just” here is just the best ever, in my opinion
greg what instruments are used from 0:50 to 0:59??? (apart the piano and vocals)
Bass, guitar, and drums
Is this the first version that Brian added the little bit in the solo of Bohemian Rhapsody?
Hyde Park 1976 most likely
It's sound like a crazy version! Like hammersmith but a little bit weak!
Best concert in 1980 better than inglewood, too bad that it's incomplet freddie was on fire in the first game tour gigs! this version is better than hot space versons! And works tour? Right ?
Small, but it was alright. Never a tough crowd.
Sounds like Tokyo first part
He sounds like a 13-year old there ;)
His voice was actually really deep when speaking, he would sing in a higher range
Hammy vs this version, it's like a tie.
would consider hammy because he hits "carry on" and he sings it more smoothly in hammy
@@yc99official95 Also Hammy has a full Bb4 of 2 verses
325
You should remaster this, like change the E.Q so he doesnt sound 11!
Thats just how his voice sounded in this era live
0:25 Obnoxious
Ehh, not really, he had a slight slight crack
