In the film industry though he's clearly not underrated as directors regularly want him for parts and continue to work with him.

Yeah. People mistakingly think Stoicism is “no emotions” when it’s really emotional control. If emotions are necessary, then it’s rational to feel them. In this case, he needed to feel those emotions because he’s dealing with a kid.

Not really. It's kinda silly when you think about it. It means K let himself be Neuralyzed in the 1st movie knowing full well he'd continue to go on missions with an older J. It also means he let J think his dad was an ass for 3 decades.

In my opinion this is how you finish off a franchise. This is the best way to do it, it was a great film and was loyal to the fans and did a great job of sending everyone home happy and was perfect nostalgia as well.

He never actually left either. He even said he was always looking after him and watching him. When he recruited him in the first movie, it was just when he knew he was finally ready.
This is why K rarely showed any emotion in the present: he let his guard down for once in his life and then loses his friend. Even worse for him, he had to neutralise his friend's son after he died. The amount of Guilt K took was massive as he never had his guard down once!
MIB 3 is one of the best movies of all time, the way it was able to end one story but leave room for another movie in the same universe (MIB International)
