- 13 year old blind girl Lucy, with Neurodiversity stuns crowd with Chopin piano performance!
Lucy performs: Opus 9 Number 1 by Chopin.
Claudia Winkleman, Mika and Lang Lang have been great as hosts and judges, but it's the contestants who shine in this heartfelt competition.
Made by Love Productions, the firm behind The Great British Bake Off, the series invited amateur players of all ages to perform on “street pianos” in Glasgow Central, London St Pancras, Leeds and Birmingham stations.
Lucy, 13, from West Yorkshire is neurodivergent and blind. She had played Chopin in the Leeds heat and chose Debussy for the final -a harder piece, thought Lang Lang.
Viewers watched Sean, Lucy, Jay (St Pancras winner), and Danny (Birmingham) having mentoring sessions with the judges.
Lucy was second on stage, accompanied by her teacher, Daniel. Waiting backstage was her mum and the three lads who by now had assumed full big brother status.
As she walked to the piano, Lucy asked for Sean and the others, and her mum. It was her way of reassuring herself, part of a pre-performance ritual. Seated at the piano she was at home, perfectly relaxed. A stirring three minutes later, Lang Lang was leading the audience in a standing ovation. Number of dry eyes in the house? Zero.
But it soon proved to be something different. There was the soaring level of genuine talent on display, enough to stop commuters in their tracks. Add to this Winkleman’s way of putting people at their ease, and Channel 4 was on its way to a hit, with audiences of close to two million on the night.
The judges have played their part too. If a panellist on Britain’s Got Talent panel says you are brilliant it’s nice but hardly the first time they’ve doled out the compliment. If Lang Lang calls you a genius, as he did with Lucy, it matters.
There was one last surprise for the finalists - a piano each, delivered to their homes!

“This is impossible…” said a stunned Lang Lang…..
PLEASE MAKE THIS LUCY HAVE A GREATEST OF ALBUM...I LOSE MY WORD..THIS LUCKY GIRL..
I FROM MALAYSIA..
I GIVE THIS LUCY 10 GOLDEN STAR...AMAZING LUCKY GIRL
I'm a concert violinist. I cried when I saw Lucy's hands over her teacher's. I have twin boys aged 12, one is autistic. Eric is incredibly poetic in his math, engineering, humour, chess and musical imagination. I can relate to Lucy and her mother.
I think she has a fantastic teacher. It's great how he knows how to give piano lessons to a blind girl.
I love Lucy. Apart from her piano playing, she is so cute! I believe recognition needs to be given to her teacher, Daniel Bath, who has taught so many other beautiful and gifted "special needs" children and young adults. Bravo Daniel Bath!
To amaze Lang Lang is an axcomplishment that VERY few people can accomplish. And she's just a kid. She's going to become an ICON.
It's good that Lucy got the gig based on her talent and not on her disability. She's a very talented pianist.
When Lang Lang say its incredible and dont know what to say u know it must be really good. Technical aspects in hand and posture doesnt matter u close eyes and listen by heart. Its another level in music to create some story in few notes. One word AMAZING and unique.
I cant stop crying every time i here her play. She’s amazing
me too
I just love Lucy. She is God sent! 💕
I'm not crying.... my eyes are just sweating....
and people stop.
and their hearts were touched.
❤
I have listened to some other versions of this but this just feels like something else, the sensitiveness and softness she plays with, among the best I have heard.
OMG! The Girl played like he was right there from Chopin mind. I cried it was so beautiful!
IT"S NOT IMPOSSIBLE, IT'S JUST SIMPLY INCREDIBLE☸
If you close ur eyes u can understand why she moves her head -amazing the piano sings
head movements is her way of keeping a tempo.
Is so beautiful, such depth and feeling! She is one with the piano! I could just cry, the Beatty! God bless her!!
Lang Lang and Mika😮
Audience 😮
Mum: Yup that is my little Star❤
Lucy plays so beautifully beyond words. What a gift! Her delivery of her musical talent is so awesome! Blessings and thank you so much Lucy! Keep playing!❤
People with disabilities who touch people like Lucy does is a truly rare gift.😁
Triumph of the human spirit.. incredible!!
I can relate all this too. As a teacher myself we try to give each kid an opportunity to learn no matter what kind of background they have. I have a couple with ADHD and one with Down Syndrome and not long ago another with Global Development Delay.
Have been following Lucy's meteoric rise ever since the first season was aired. And it is nothing short of remarkable. And the new series just got better.
Full marks to the Steadycam operator who circled Lucy towards the end of her performance ... perfectly timed! R (Australia)
What a beautiful talented young lady.. I have listened to you playing this piece many times. God bless you Lucy ❤ love from NZ
Thank you so much Lucy. You shared your powerful gift of love! Much love .....

Daniel, you are a very, very special and gifted teacher 9:40
Great Job Lucy!!! How special it is to seee when someone (teacher) lends a hand.. Beautiful harmony can be created in voice and melody.. that would not be possible without people seeing something special and Supporting her abilities.. gives good vibes and positive frequent’see that all things are possible when we give our/hour gift of sight/site that is keys to harmon’eyes’sing.
Lucy is amazing, and so is Daniel. ❤❤
It’s like Lucy and the piano are one.

Oh my.❤😊🎉
....no words...
Congratulations

Lucy is amazing and so talented
Spanish subtitles, please! I love the video
Being blind can actually be an advantage with music, Ray Charles is a prime example of that. Now being def would be make it quite difficult but you can still compose in that condition as Beethoven proved.
I never understood how people could look at someone like Lucy and say "she has a disability", she is obviously so much more advanced than we are so much so that we can't even begin to understand Lucy bc she is so far above us.
She brings a level of art and beauty to a an ugly hate filled world and we think she is "disabled", on the contrary we are the disabled ones but we are blessed bc she is here bringing us music and she is totally disconnected from the hateful and ugly world around her.
Exactly. It is people like Lucy that makes me feel so inadequate, so unworthy, and so useless. Seeing Lucy is a truly humbling experience.
I remember someone said something like, "It's not about 'how could they do it', but 'how couldn't we do it'."
Oh to have been lucky enough to have been traveling that day!
It's as if God & Chopin are aiding Miss Lucy perform a difficult piece. I've studied 15+ plus years & can just pull this piece off. 🎹⚘️❤️
Te amo hijo Mia…!!!!!!
She is like an angel. this song is very dificult.
Deus é fiel justo e soberano, e capacita a quem busca a Ele.
Most autistic kids have a big talent, something they’re wonderful at. Her teacher channeled her talent and focused her.

God gives us blessings.Incredible, incredible talent. Some people are unfortunate. They can't see here smell or See and we have to remember that The Lord gives us challenge in other ways to better the world. When they see others like Lucy, play playing something so beautiful.
I am beside myself when I heard her play Piano. I was shocked. Shocked was not disappointed. I was not home when I was watching this and I gave her the biggest applause ever. God bless her and her parents. They did a good job. This shows an example for other people. That you can do what you can do. Never forget who you are, where you come from.
And and you are always amazing to others. Always remember to keep your head above the water. And improve yourself on everything that you do in this world.People will never.I get you sincerely yours a man
Very beautiful sweetheart ❤❤❤❤❤❤God bless ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤pops XOXO ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

A true gift from God
*Damn!* *What more is there to say?*
🎉⋯⋯❤⋯⋯
I want more Lucy videos. Why does Lucy not have her own channel?
I will upload more videos of Lucy on the channel in the near future. Keep the channel releases in check…
I have so many technical musical questions now. Also, how does she have the emotional experience to float the melodies as though its a voice? Just how
Bob Marley music is love
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😂
I didn’t know Claudia was part of this show!
I wrote this in another video of this pianist. It has to sound different to her. I would like to hear what it sounds like with the oscillation that she is experiencing. With her ears in constant motion "almost timing like" it has to create a post sound modification and oscillation.

awesome young lady! GD-given talent.....WOW!
Othets standing around not paying attention....shame on them.
Stevie Wonder should go see her in concert.
They needs to have marks on the keys of the piano that the blind people can play by fealing them
Thats not even necessary. Blind people can identify the keys just by their arrangement on the piano.
Much as I'd like to play like Lucy, the trade-off is too high.
she doesn't play music, she makes music. I didn't know, though, one could "possess" neurodiversity - I thought that was a societal apsect.
You watch to much you-tube fem clips. That is one of their misappropriated words.😊
"neurodiversity" so her brain is broken?
No thats not the case. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is associated with differences in communication, learning, and behavior, though it can look different from person to person. People with ASD may have a wide range of strengths, abilities, needs, and challenges. For example, some autistic people are able to communicate verbally, have a normal or above average IQ, and live independently. Others might not be able to communicate their needs or feelings, may struggle with impairing and harmful behaviors that impact their safety and well-being, and may be dependent on support in all areas of their life. Additionally, for some people with autism, differences may not cause any suffering to the person themself. Instead, the suffering may result from the barriers imposed by societal norms, causing social exclusion and inequity.
Medical evaluation and treatment is important for individuals with ASD. For example, establishing a formal diagnosis may enable access to social and medical services if needed. A diagnostic explanation may help the individual or their family understand their differences better and enable community connections. Additionally, neurodevelopmental conditions may also be associated with other health issues that require extra monitoring or treatment. It is important that people who need and desire behavioral supports or interventions to promote communication, social, academic, and daily living skills have access to those services in order to maximize their quality of life and developmental potential. However, approaches to interventions cannot be one-size-fits-all, as all individuals will have different goals, desires, and needs.
I hope this explanation was helpful for you.
