Pam is seriously the most loyal friend Archer could ever dream of having. I wonder how different his life would've been if they had met much MUCH earlier in life.
If they had met as children Pam would’ve protected Sterling from bullies.

To me the biggest proof that Pam is Archer's best friend is that in two of three coma seasons she was the person closest to him.
In Dreamland she was his confidant and inside... person... who helped him. And in Danger Island she was his right hand woman, co-pilot. and tail gunner.
She wasn't portrayed as a casual fling like Cheryl/Carol nor as a love interest like Lana, she was just by his side.
It's why so many chubby chick's are always a homie. We got a friend Mandy like this. She's so chill. We all used to knock boots but like, I was the first person she told about her engagement and her second child. I always look at her hubby and I'm like "mam, you don't even know Mandy" lmao

The scene were she's sobbing and Archer just casually moves her around while getting his coffee is perfect. The part proves he is a true friend is when he relents and asks her what was wrong.
She also becomes a kind of aunt to Abbie-jean to!

Archer is so aggressively trying not to care about Pam to the point he can't imagine life without her. I honestly wasn't picking up on this but it makes total sense these two love each other platonically. That shart scene kinda sealed it for me to come to this conclusion.
