    I'm going to try this! I used Rogaine for my male pattern baldness many years back and it did work, but then I got a dog. Sounds like an odd reason to stop using it, but the active ingredient (minoxidil) is toxic to dogs and cats. :( As a result of stopping, I have lost a LOT of hair and have gotten SUPER thin. This sounds like a safer route. Thanks for sharing, and I hope you find many a rosemary shortbread cookie, Danielle! (imagining old-school Zelda game graphics but instead, Danielle jumps around to collect the cookies, and Fluffnugget allows her to fly to higher places and exit the level . . . okay I'm done now)

This could be the cause of a serious scalp condition and can come back again 3 times worse than before. Hey, Danielle. I am not ANY kind of expert (trichologist, dermatologist, cosmetologist, etc...) but the placement and shape of your bald spot (crown section, in a circular expanding pattern) looks a lot like Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia, or CCCA. I had a tiny spot in the same area that began as the size of a dime and became much larger that turned out to be CCCA. The only way I've been able to to take control of it and reverse the damage for good has been to speak with a trichologist & dermatologist who have helped me to combat the actual cause of the issue: scalp inflammation. Oh, and I'm HELLA allergic to most (scented) hair products lol but you don't seem to have that issue. Fluffnugget is absolutely beautiful, and I'm so happy that you've seen success. Just wanted to share the little info I have in case it may help you to maintain your hair health. Best of luck with your journey and thank you for your delightfully quirky, hilarious, honest, and heartfelt vids! If I don't see you in a Wes Anderson film like SOON ya girl is gonna go off. xoxo

    I suffer from this and was diagnosed with CCCA, a form of alopecia that is most common among black women. It is usually accompanied by an itching or sensitive scalp but can be reversed if treated early. It can also be reoccurring, funny thing is rogaine was definitely given to me in form of a scalp grease along with Rosemary and biotin. Star puppy, I am very happy to see your hair journey and the results. When it comes to oils my rule of thumb is menthols. That’s peppermint, mints, tea tree oil, etc.
    When I put oils in my hair, it’s nice to have some sensation to low key tell me “it’s working”. I already hate putting oils on scalp because I hate having oily hair (makes me hair more untamed and way more curly then I want it to be). But like you, I have a section of my head where hair is thin to not there. So if I must oil my hair, I want the cooling effect so that I know something is happening.

    • @keisha3115
      @keisha3115 Před 3 lety +5

      @@sable7114 WIth CCCA there is permanent follicle damage, in which scarring of the hair follicle makes it permanently incapable of growing. But what also occurs is inflammation of the hair follicle prior to permanent scarring. In cases like this, it can cause transient breakage of the hair shaft. Because some follicles are inflamed the new hair that emerges is weak and breaks. However, the follicle may be able to grow back at a later time (because permanent damage has yet to occur). But this doesn't exclude the diagnosis of CCCA. Typically, if you've had a biopsy by a dermatologist then there is a confirmed diagnosis. Hope this helps!

      @@sable7114 I have it as well and I’ve tried everything and my hair was doing great for years (still had bald spots they just never got worse and my hair was still fairly thick) then the hair loss started again with a vengeance this year. I’ve done a lot of research over Ccca as I’ve had it sense I was about 24 and now at 36 I’m just managing. It’s all about managing the hair you have and taking care of the follicles that haven’t turned to scar tissue since it is progressive. CCCA mainly affect African American women but they have literally never found out why. I’ve read it’s the things we do to our hair but my grandmother had it and she never had a relaxer or wore tight hair styles. I’ve even read it also has to do with the shape of our hair follicles which causes our hair to coil and that being related to CCCA. The sad thing is, it’s poorly researched so we are left to do a lot of guessing 😩🤦🏾‍♀️. Is it chemicals, genetics, follicle shape, hormonal?

    Hi, love your content. If I may, for all those seeking to make an oil blend, and using a dropper to apply There’s a few things you should know. If you’re using natural or organic ingredients (organic almond, jojoba, castor and essential oils), there won’t be a preservative in the oils. So, having direct contact with your head/hair/skin, then putting it back in your oil blend (especially if your hair is wet,) IS A BAD IDEA. You can and will introduce microbes and bacteria to your oil and dropper which can case fungal infections etc. If you don’t want to add an anti microbial/preservative, my advice:
    A) Extract the amount you’ll need for 1 application, (put that amount in a bowl/cup). Then use a SEPARATE dropper for application. You can always add more to the bowl and you don’t have to worry about ruining the oil OR your scalp.😊
    B) Buy an applicator bottle, add only what you’ll need for each treatment and use that nozzle instead of your dropper.
    C) Add an antimicrobial/preservative to your mixture and carry-on with direct application from your bottle’s dropper.
    Hope this helps, also hope you’re not offended. 😊
