Guilt is a feeling that more present in childhood, hence why children often try to find whose fault something was.
However, in adulthood, when faced with problems that can be overwhelming, something Called emotional regression can happen, where the mind regresses psychologically to childhood patterns, due to not knowing how to handle something at hand.
I dont know if this helps sir, something i picked up on my journey of life. In any case, i wish you a speedy recovery and best of luck 😊
