Abandoned Railroad Crossing Salinas, CA (Monterey Branch)

  • This crossing looks to be an Early Safetran install with very early Safetran equipment. It looks like they used some RACO lights as well, probably still had them in their stock when they bought out RACO. There was something odd at this crossing, and it was the WCH bell sitting on one of the cantilever signals. I wondered why did they even put it there if the line was prone to abandonment? Afterall, Its probably a WCH type 1 or 1.5 which are the earliest models.

      LOL! it was pretty stormy when we got there. It was even raining on and off and ALOT of wind! I guess it’s better that it wasn’t raining xd
