    Here's how to reinstalled the hub covers snuggly in just seconds: Place a small plastic 'zip tie" on the edge of the cover with the smooth side on the rubber O ring. Push the cover in fully, then pull the zip tie out. This seals the cover securely in place.

      You can get it at any feed store for animal.. cenex etc,, we now just pry the cap out 1/4 inch and squirt the oil in much faster then a needle.

    Can we just pop the "hub caps" off and add the oil?

    I am guessing a high quality 75W-90 synthetic oil would be good ?

      We just use a inexpensive type from the auto parts store

      Is that a 90wt gear oil. I know you said any cheap oil from auto parts store but all I could find was gear oil.

      if you have access too it.. i'd try getting some EPO grease, its very running grease, same stuff used into auto greasing systems on trucks. If you have a john deere dealer close by, ask for ' corn head grease' , same stuff. @@aarondios3831

    Just curious you say the bearings can be replaced which i am doing but what bearings do you use to replace the 6006 du2 and 6oo4du2 as most of my search for this 6006du2 bearing is discontinued by NSK I have found 6006 bearings ranging in price from $10 to over $40 i know which ones i will use just not sure they will last but judging by the dried up grease in the bearings some will need to be replaced and for those of us doing this on our own it will take you between 10-12 hours per track to completely remove all the bearings and all the seals wash out and repack bearings and re assemble complete track thats all 22 bearings on the front track and the 26 on the back track

      Only replace them if they wobble sideways, put oil under the cap and it will get in the bearings we sell them for 7 to 9 dollars depending on volume

    @1:54 "The advantage to the oil, is the oil attracts water" umm I want to know what oil your using that is not hydrophobic.

    Gary, I see you do all the smaller wheels. Do you do the 4 bigger wheels with the oil also? I also see you pull the cap and put the oil in the hub bearing. I ordered the X4S with the oil bath. Should that still be done?

    • @atvtracks
      @atvtracks  Před 4 lety

      you can also put oil in the larger wheels on the utv and atv,, The x4s with the oi
      l bath is filled at the factory and some times seeps a little because of over fill,, you do not need to ad oil unless you replace bearings, gary
