#danebramagerocks #unitedbymusic #eurovision2024 #eurovision #nebulossa #zorra #spain - Hudba
One of the main flags of Europe is liberty, diversity, equality. Eurovision was created after WW2, to unite the continent after one of the biggest blood baths in history. It was the cradle of liberalism: Liberty, Equality, Freedom. For that reason this song is vert "normal" in the context of Eurovision.
This song embraces that ideology: an older woman telling the world that she is still alive and also have sexual life and vote, regardless of social rules she doesn't care (this is an awesome message). Also: all pop female dancers are half naked nowadays, why are males with half naked cloths a shock but half naked female dancers not? (that is part of the message, and I find it awesome).
I'm also a rock/metal/classical guy, 40 years old dad. The song is synt pop like the 80's, not my style, and I am hetero, but I love everything on the song: because the message is very rock/punk (rock core values = revolt / liberty / uniqueness / controversy). To be honest I get why some people find the message/staging shocking, but I love shock, Elvis was also a shock when arrived and newspapers wanted to ban him. Shock is what makes us go forward as society and embrace new views instead of old ones. Note: for European guys / Eurovision the shock level of this song is very low in fact, if this socks people embrace yourselves Eurovision get hit harder lol
Yeah, never said I had a problem with the song, or the dancers. I actually praised the music and performance, just not the message. Regardless of them being male/female. But, most comments on here assumed I have a problem with male dancers being on stage, words that never came out of my mouth, but then again, that is the problem with society. People assuming or changing the narrative.
@@DaneBramageROCKS Sorry for the way I passed the message, commented the song in general and other comments here, it was not directed at you in particular, it was to the comments section in general. It is nice of you watching it and giving feedback, all opinions are valid of course. In fact the 1st time I listened to it I was like: what is this, took me time processing xD Just sharing the after-thought of the processing :)
Regards
PS: the comments assumed you didn't liked the dancers part because you looked away and said the dance was not your cup-of-tea xD But no problem with that, we all don't need to like the same kind of stuff, just sharing experiences. People enjoyed your you taking time to watch this fest and giving feedback, don't worry :) This particular song itself divided a lot of people in Europe too, you're not alone. To me it was funny the word-play with Zorro (hero macho that does whatever she wants) and Zorra (female bitch that does whatever she wants) but it is a personal experience and is ok :)
@@Zuap Hi there. You passed the message just fine, I didn't take anything personal. I also was stating what most people were assuming about my reaction here. But good point, I was caught off guard but this is the same reason the last MTV Music Awards were garbage. Just a bunch of singers bouncing around being all nasty and being over sexual, seems unnecessary. Other than that, the song is catchy, regardless if I understand it or not and their story of being unknown to winning a contest is awesome! Cheers dude! 🤘🏻
and before seeing guns, rifles or any type of weapons, it seems that this does not shock you, I prefer to see two men acting and making a show.
Vamos España!!!❤❤
I am 100% straight and I love the dance. If there are people who enjoy a song, and suddenly feel uncomfortable, or need expressions like "It's not my cup of tea" to distance themselves, it's because songs and performances like that are still very necessary. Not just for freedom, but because these people are very insecure about their own sexuality.
Thanks so much for the comment and explanation. The only thing I ask is please do not assume why people like or dislike the song, delivery, dancing, or dancers. And that is with anything, to be each is own, as they say.
Ok, I'm going to assume that you haven't completely changed your attitude and face when the boys have taken off their pants😉. Which is what has happened to all of us in Spain . Those 2 guys did the staging and told the singer: "honey, don't worry if you don't know how to dance, no one is going to notice you" Assume that you like the song more the more you listen to it, and have fun 😉. Remember: Hands on shoulders, hands on ears, hands up high (7:20) You are going to dance it. Congrats on the authenticity of your video and your reaction👍Thank you so much.@@DaneBramageROCKS
@@HistorialChannel yeah the song is catchy, and to be honest I had no idea what it was about because it's not my language. Loved how the crowd was engaged in the song as well. It's fun. Regardless of the meaning and message.

Dancers!! Spectacular! Spain uses "slut". (Zorra -vixen) Without censure. Its amazing!! When the girls dance its okay when sexualise men bad. The dancers are amazing!! And She is 56 years, and in the clip watch old ladies dancing, because they are free now!!!

This is my age-bracket. We disappear. This is giving a section of the eurovision audience usually ignored and not taken seriously, a voice, not just that but it's also reclaiming a negative word and connotation. This has a nice 80s throw back. But what I love most about this is that she doesn't step back - women hit 50 and while we disappear from popular culture and have trouble even getting served in shops or taken seriously at our job, we lose relevance, but we also don't take a step back, we don't care what people think. The clip for this is even better. I love the dancers - she didn't go for pretty young things to give a focal point, they are fun and age appropriate. This isn't my fav song of the year, but I love and appreciate it being there. We have every right to reclaim our place in the world and we have every right to reclaim and own slurs. If this was about racism or some other ism - then people wouldn't be so vocal, they wouldn't dare but this "controversy" proves my point because its about older women, we don't matter enough for us to have feeling obviously (sorry your "I don't agree with the sentiment comment fired me up). It's not a sentiment - its a portion of the population reclaiming their dignity and voice.
SPAIN IS WINNER ALERT ❤
I love this song so much, my favorite for sure.

Thanks for your opinion and to me, it would not have mattered if it was male or female. The message and sexualization just doesn't jive with me. Seems unnecessary but that is just me!
I understand that you are shocked with the male dancers since it us very striking. Yet, they form part of the song message and it isn't casual. Their performance is intentionally to show a role change on the stage, as people are used to only enjoy sexy female dancers.....
Why not men..?
It is high time to change and accept everybody just the way they are without so many social prejudices.
Regards from Spain
Yeah and that was not my point. I said the same thing about the MTV Music awards, it was the sexualization being presented, it is just tasteless. Gender had nothing to do with it.
I understand your point but for me the male dancers were unsightly as well.
@@WandaBarquinG it was the same for me at first, I thought ....what an appealing taste!!! but when delving into the real song message I change my mind, I found more meaning about their striking performance and exagerated outfit on the stage. There is a real role change since we are too much used to see females as sexual objects. It is so normalize that very few people complaing about it.
The bottom line is that every artistic expression always provoke mixed feelings and all of them are respetable.
Regards from Spain
@@DaneBramageROCKS
I didn't see the MTV music awards, but I wonder: what is tasteless about sex? Sex is nice, sex is gorgeous, sex is healthy, sex is natural, sex is communication, sex is fun, sex is the way we all come to this world, you too. Sex is not a sin, but a blessing. Sex can come with love, pleasure or health. Only when not wanted should it be rejected. Sex and death, Eros and Thanatos, the two old themes of all times. Sex is beauty, so it CAN'T be tasteless "per se", by itself, by its nature.
For me, I really like the message. An older woman embracing who she is and reclaiming a negative word in a positive way is really powerful. And I think it’s a relatively unique perspective for a song. The visuals seem consistent with message she’s trying to get across. It could be reeled in a bit, but I don’t think they’re just going for shock value for no reason. Older people deserve to feel sexy too, if they want lol. Best part of Eurovision is there’s something for everyone, even if everything isn’t for you. 😃
Efectivamente, muy elocuente.
Good point. I was not sure what it meant so I was just going on the articles. Thanks for the perspective! This is good.
La expectativa de vida en España es la más alta del mundo si no me equivoco así que no es tan OLDER... que no estamos en la Edad Media pos Dios 😂😂
If you are talking about the age then Jlo, or Madonna, or many other singers can 't Sing anymore? And not only women can xshow their backs 😅😅
Si fueran shakira y J. Lo te importaría? Estaría bien que reflexionaras.
The context of the song is: you say Im a b#tch because I have fun, I go out alone till late, and If am sucessful you dont value and you say I dont deserve it so, ok, I'll keep on being a b#tch for you because Im not gonna change, Ill keep on doing what I like and makes me happy and being what I am. The lyrics and the message of empowering is important.
Its a song against sexism and prejudices. You can notice also the contrast between the way she is dressing and the dancers clothes, because usually women use to wear less clothes and men use to cover their bodies with clothes, so, here is the opposite ;) and we can check the reaction is not the same generally speaking.
I actually see your point here and I appreciate the perspective and explanation. This does help clear the meaning up a bit and thanks for sharing that.
@@DaneBramageROCKS To take that person's comment a bit further, the way the dancers are dressed reinforces the message in the second verse of the song. She is completely covered from neck to toe, including gloves, in a black, relatively conservative-looking outfit (not super-tight, no sequins, etc.). The male dancers next to her strip down into what is essentially sparkly lingerie. Yet, as she says in the second verse, "they call me a wh*re/b*tch no matter what I do". So while it's the men who are stripped down and gyrating - doing their best to be the focus of the attention - SHE is the one still being called a zorra despite being completely covered and not dancing suggestively.
Once I noticed that dichotomy on my second or third watch, the entire thing completely clicked for me. It's in my top 5.
Soy mas zorra todavia! If they're gonna call you a b*tch no matter what you do, then baby, be the biggest b*tch of all - a picture-perfect b*tch.
I actually like the message and the analysis seemed a bit superficial (not necessarily yours but the infos you found). A community reclaiming a word that was used as an insult to take its power away isn't anything new, it has been done for a very long time by several minorities or communities with less social power. Also, with the whole lyrics the picture of "whatever I do, I will be called a zorra" is very clear, as well as the sexism surrounding those insults in the professional world. She says that even if she's successful it' never because she deserves it but because she's a zorra. Often when a woman gets a promotion the questions is "who did she sleep with" while nobody really asks that regarding a man.
The reaction that the dancers get actually gets the point of the song as well, as when female dancers are half naked or with their butts out nobody will really flinch. Especially in the showbussiness world.
Mine its not a complete analysis either but I hope that it gives other points of view 😊
Exactamente.....😘🦊🦊🦊
In these situations, a lot of guys are anxious to let everybody know they find male bodies repulsive, i. e., are not gay. I think the dude's reaction to the butts might also be due to that.
I'll be honest, I don't like when the girls do it either. That was my point. I did not like the MTV Music Awards because almost every female pop star was mostly naked, humping the ground or feeling themselves up and being nasty. This is the negative aspect I don't like and why I am over the sexualization. Those are not the role models society needs.
It's not. Check out my other reply.
I understand your point but for me the male dancers were unsightly as well. Loved the song/singer/band.

Nebulossa was formed in 2018 when the romantic couple decided to form a musical group. The name of the group alludes to nebulae because on a trip to Port Ainé they went to an astronomical observatory where they were constantly mentioned.
Bas, 56, and Mark Dasousa, 49, are married, they have two children, one 23 years old and the other 11, and a dog. They generate income through a hair salon. But also, for years, they have had a great passion for music, they don't have a record label or set designers, they do what they can with what they have.
They showed up at the Benidorm Fest with the intention of being able to reach the final and for people to know them and know about them, they never thought about being able to get here and go to Eurovision.
They bring a song that has clear intentions, it has a very direct, empowering and danceable message, they have developed the feminist message that Zorra brings. A hymn to empowerment, which refers to feminine vindication and the resignification of a word that is usually used with pejorative overtones.
That does explain the neat hair style the Keytarist had! Thanks for sharing!

Guauuuuuu ZORRA 💚💚💚💚💚🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸💃💃💃💃💃
My favorite aspect of the song, in the way I see it, is the act of reclaiming a word that has been used to hurt and humiliate women for years. As a gay man, I resonate with that, and I find it very powerful. I come from a very conservative and homophobic country, so I think it's amazing how many Spanish people seem to embrace such a risqué and evidently queer performance. I think there are a lot of things that can be lost in translation and cultural context. It was interesting to watch your reaction and your first impressions though. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah I was not sure about the history until the articles were read so I am gaining an understanding. Thanks for commenting on this, I was more taken back just by the sexualization alone and not so much who was delivering it. I was not even sure of the stance of the dancer themselves and did not verify their sexual preference so that made no matter to me! Could have been women and I would have said the same thing, but regardless, awesome to see a group go from almost unknown to a national stage competition. Gonna be fun to see them during the show.

I guess this guy dos not go to beach or sauna or swimming pool , it is too psychologically traumatizing for him to see people not fully clothed
I don't think it's so much the lack of clothing but more the distasteful, inappropriate and vulgar way they're shamelessly gyrating around each other, which would be fine if this was an adult show, but it isn't, it's broadcast during the time when children are exposed to it. I mean I've been to many pools, beaches and saunas, I don't often see people behaving like this there though.
behaving like what ? @@stebow1977
Not really. I think my comment was taken out of context but it is what it is. I did not mind the dancers, but even when the MTV music awards was on, I thought it distasteful because it just seemed unnecessary, especially if they portray as a role model. It was the oversexualization that bothered me, but that is just the Dad in me talking. Male, Female, does not matter.

It is true, I did not have a problem with the lyrics but mostly did not understand the meaning, which is why I read the articles. I'm indifferent but wither way, the song and style of music were fun!
I used to live in Spain, they curse like sailors over there. I don't see why it's a big deal as this is the typical way they talk?!?! However "Zorra" is an insult if a woman stays out too late having fun, while it's okay for men to do the same. There's also a line in there that anything she earned, she didn't deserve it. I can't tell you how many times in my life I've had people come up to me asking if my boyfriend bought my clothes, car, jewelry. I worked my tail off to go to college and be successful in my career. It's a song about owning the word so it's not a slur anymore/equal opportunity. I'm also about the same age as the singer. ;-)
Yeah who knows, I was a bit surprised when I read the article but I also do not know the culture or what goes on, but, here we are!

I found in a lot of reaction videos that just because she is middle age they think she’s been around for ages , does that mean that you can’t start a career as a singer when you are middle age?
Maybe she worked in an office until she was 40 and then decided on a career change lol it’s never too late to pursue your dreams lol
People might not like how they put on the show and convey their message but the message is still necessary and relevant unfortunately
Yeah good call. I was not sure but I have been told that she was a hair dresser then the duo decided to make this song and enter the contest. She was relatively unknown until this contest. Which is awesome!
Although you don't like the dancers and I understand why you say it, in this song they make sense as the normal thing is that women have to show their body and men are well dressed. In this case, she is completely dressed and the dancers are showing their body. That fits with the idea that the song represents.

Zorra maravillosa
Song is a full party with an ironic message..never is too aging to welcome your dreams come true...I think you are older than the singer..so age is botherless.. I love the song anytime
I agree, I was commending her on her age, not criticizing. And I do dig the song, never said I didn't.
The lyrics are great. The message behind hits those who undermine free and independent women for being who they are. The song is poppy and very catchy, but don't think it is going to do very well in Erovision because it's sung in Spanish. Anyway, such an original song and performance deserve to be in the top ranking.
Btw, the choreography is shocking and scenic, perfect for a performance of this kind.
Well done Nebulosa!
I hope that because it is sung in Spanish, it will not be overlooked. The point is the country representation and music.
Woman power....
Cheers!
Can you tell me where did you get this cute tshirt ❤ I’ll get it right now ❤
I bought it online I think. It's a Lake Tahoe shirt.
@@DaneBramageROCKS thanks love 💕
Por fin traseros de hombres.....la que se a liado!!!
Por cierto....me encanta la canción. Te hace vibrar.❤❤❤❤❤
one thing is what U.S. society tries to sell to the world about how its society and culture works, another thing is, with exceptions and a certain non-majority part of that society ,the reality. There are countries in Europe where steps have already been taken on equality, inclusivity, feminism, LGBT, migration, etc. (although there is still a long way to go) that would surely be difficult for you to imagine. Does it shock and bother you to see a woman and two men behaving like this?
The U.S. isn't great on that side of things and to answer your question, no, doesn't shock me at all.
My favorite is CROATIA ❤ Baby Lasagna ❤❤❤❤
That one is coming soon! 😉

Nebulossa y Zorra en el top 5 de Eurovision 2024
Oh wow, love the enthusiasm. I'm excited to see what happens.
If the truth is, electronic music is very, very good, it has a lot of spark and is engaging, but you don't hear it much and the lyrics, well, that's what my country is, it always makes you laugh. Happy Happy 😂😂. La música electrónica es muy muy buena tiene mucha chispa y engancha pero a ella no se la oye bien siempre mi país hace ser felices a lo demás
I felt a bit funny and confused by your reaction to those dancers. It's a great song, musically it has some resemblance to Desireless Voyage Voyage and OMD Enola Gay. Very 80s and a kind of retro Madonna back in the days of True Blue
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

i don't really understand what your own opinion on the message was. I know you didn't agree with it but what did you not agree with?
DaneBramage ROCKS have you seen Finlands entry for Eurovision 2006, Finland won Eurovision Song Contest that year, with Lordi and the song Hardrock Hallelujah czcams.com/video/gAh9NRGNhUU/video.html I don't know how it was at that time, but apparently nowadays in Eurovision all instruments on stage in any competing entry are prerecorded nothing is live except the lead vocal singing.
Oh I have not. I'll take a look, thank you!
@@DaneBramageROCKS Oh, you will enjoy Lordi! They opened up the way for rock bands to enter Eurovision.
@@tanjanikola9489 Lordi is much more his style.
As a 46 year old woman, a European and a feminist, I don’t find this song and video controversial at all; I rather find them weak.
By feminist terms, reclaiming gender equality through reversing the stereotypical roles is still embracing those roles. A bit like someone who was bullied empowering themselves by becoming a bully - it doesn’t work like that and this is not what feminism is for and stands for.
I also dislike the vocal performance, I perceive it as weak and at times was irritated by it (off-pitch on two occasions?).
Naked male butts on stage are not a shock. I find the dance choreography tried to be humorous or parodic, and the costumes were unflattering, so in combination those dancers did attract the eye but not in a good way, they were a bit ridiculous, but I think that fits the intended role-reversal message as well. They were made to feel cringey on purpose. Again, this is a message that as a feminist I disagree with. I think the human body can be sexual and shown as sexual in a respectful and tasteful way. For example, the music video of Austria is very explicit with suggestive male bodies and poses, and other than this portrayal being cliché as well, it is ag least not done to ridicule or humiliate.
For a gorgeous use of the naked male body for artistic emotional expression through masterful choreography and videography, see Belgium ❤
This is a wonderful explanation. I think yo took what I was trying to say. Was not controversial in my mind, just tasteless. I watched the MTV Music Awards a few months back and felt the same way, it was just tasteless and unnecessary. Thank you for commenting, this is a great explanation to the submission, IMO.
Hello Azerbaycan European song
Me parece bien que saque los bailarines ,siempre han sido chicas,y bien, ahora salen chicos y que escándalo ,así que hay que revisarlo!!
LOL, this is your lucky day, Spain could have sent Jorge Gonzalez instead of Nebulossa 😂🤣😂
The song is a success, something very important to talk about Spain music and European culture is better to know more about the language and culture. This song is an excellent candidate to win Eurovision.
Thank you!! Cheers.
You have to be open minded to understand Eurovision and appreciate the variety of performances and ways of thinking… time to look out of the box.
I watched another reaction video by you and I had high hopes of this channel, but definitely I won’t see anything from this guy again.
Fair enough. Thanks so much for giving it a shot, I appreciate the feedback. 🙏🏻
That's Great! Let them express and I do not have a problem with that. I just don't care for sexualized themes and expression. No disrespect to anyone.
Thanks for expressing your disagreement so honestly and politely. I take it rather as a game, there are no politics involved and she's not writing a PhD thesis on feminism either: it's no more than a Eurovision song. About the dancers, it's just an inversion of roles where the woman is the main character fully dressed and the men appear as undressed sexual objets. This and the baroque setup make a kind of pervert, immoral or even slightly satanic display, saying a kind of 'so what'. If you don't take it too seriously, as they do, probably you may join their game and like it a bit more.
Yeah I am glad that people are chiming in with more information as all I had was the articles to go on. Thanks so much for the comment and undertanding. I like the song, I love how this group came about, it was just the sexualization I struggled with and that goes for anyone, not just men. Sometimes it seems unnecessary but I get it for this song and performance.
This song is about freedom, and she doesn't care about critics or comments about her age, mostly from old males (like you).
Was not criticizing her age, I was actually commending her. I like seeing people still get out there as they progress in life.
@@anciify Guess I can't criticize or compliment. Damned if you do, Damned if you don't.
Wait, what...? @MSol-jz1hc, so, the reactor makes a complimentary remark about her age, which you don't agree with, so you comment against him by making a derogatory remark about his age. And then also a derogatory remark about his gender?! Wow the double standard is astounding! You were also so bold as to assume his gender?! Congratulations, you just made the most insulting and offensive remark of the entire post...
@@anciifymaking a complimentary remark about anyone, including their age, isn't patronising just because your twisted mind thinks it is. Also, if the aim of the performance is intended to shock, why are you surprised when people are shocked?!
@@stebow1977 I just put a mirror. It was not necessary to comment about her age to criticize the song. I have seen other reactions to this song and most of the ones that comment about her age, are coming from males in the same age range.
I can't stand with the paternalism and this song is about this.
They wear the same robe that Chanel with Slomo... and It was not a problem...Why? Because she was a woman and not two men??? ... 🤔🤔🤔
Loved it. Didn’t like the guys somewhat naked but I understand that they were supporting LGTQ+ somehow. I guess “zorra” can be an expletive for other than women. Love the lyrics! Great singer and accomplished band. Thank you.
Thank you as well. I dug the song and understand the meaning as well. Curious to see how this carries out on the show!
@@DaneBramageROCKSwell…you may not know that the Queen consort of Spain is being called “zorra” because she has been outed as an adulterer…so many argue she was an “inspiration” (to say I do what I do even if YOU may not like it)…there might be a political implication to the song…willingly or unknowingly/unintentionally. Her name is Letizia Ortiz, a commoner who has been shown to be less than “regal.” Food for thought…
@@WandaBarquinG oh ok. Thanks so much for providing us with that information

America it’s behind
well, nudity in Spain (and i would dare to say in most of europe ) is not such a big of a deal as in USA, so it's not only what people already told you about the message, but also like altho it's impactfull because they are men, you have to keep in mind that for us is not "that impactfull" , nudity in some beaches is allowed, and doing topless is quite common in every beach, breastfeeding in public is common too, etc. so seeing this guys dressed like that is not really a shock
Correct, it was not a shock as it stands by itself; it was more of the meaning behind it. But it did not matter that they were guys. Even the MTV Music Awards show was not great because all the artists were pushing over-sexualization, and it was distasteful, IMO. That was all I was referring to.
Ah yes. I also think it is unnecessary and almost all my reactions on here are from cleaner videos. Almost...😁
I like the song a lot but while I mean no offense to the singer, I feel like a bit more power in the voice would've worked better. To my ears it sounds like she's not putting enough effort, at least at some parts
Agreed
I like her video more where she is gorgeous. 🤩 This is not my music, but when I'm drunk in a restaurant, this is great. 🥳💃
Yeah I saw a clip, seemed a little more tasteful but I'm afraid to watch. Lol.
😅
Go to POland Luna - the tower
This way of thinking is older than black thread..come on man! there are two great dancers without t-shirt and high heels! ....2024!
For sure. Did not care about that so much, I just find the sexualization unnecessary, but I also get the message of the song. To be each is own! Thanks for checking this out and commenting though, Cheers!
American puritanism🤦🏻♀️
Yes, most Europeans tend to laugh at it, some Americans hyperventilate. Kind of funny to see the cultural difference.
Totally
It isn't puritism to dislike something, everyone is entitled to their opinion and if it differs from yours that doesn't make him a puritan. What does though is people who disagree with his opinion who then slate him and imply to him that he's wrong because they think they're better than him.
