I've flown on a few of Air Zim Aircraft, namely the 767 from Gatwick to Harare in 1991 and the 720 from Harare to Bulawayo in 1984. In fact I flew down to attend a Stand at the Bulawayo Trade Show where I actually shook the hand of the man which Bulawayo Airport is named, Joshua Nkomo. He visited our Stand.
And before Air Zim I flew once on an Air Rhodesia Viscount from Johannesburg to what was then Salisbury Airport back in 1976.
I lived in Rhodesia and Zimbabwe for over 33 years!

Wow you must have some interesting experiences on those flights. I remember as a kid when the 767 flew to Gatwick. What was the service like back then and did they serve nice meals etc. the crew on this flight speak excellent levels of English and are very polite and well mannered. Not a patch on todays UK standards that are very poor in comparison
@inn6098Thanks. Yes, the Flight on the Air Zim 767 was the last leg of a trip I took in '91. I flew from Harare to Perth (Oz) on Qantas B747/400, (still quite new ack then). Then flew from Perth to Singapore on a Qantas B747-SP followed by a flight from Singapore to Heathrow with Qantas on another B747/400. Then the Flight from Gatwick back to Harare all done within a Month, it's what they called the "Triangle" and cost back then ZW$720.00 But flying back then was still very relaxed, lots of smoking and drinking along the way! (And included in the price on all the Flights)!.... Oh, and I got to sit in the Flightdeck on the Harare to Perth...
there is an old Rhodesia viscount vikers plane in the museum of Gwero ,i stepped on it and visit.

The Canadian 737-200s are utilized in the far north. They're outfitted with gravel kits to allow them to safely operate on the gravel runways many places in the Yukon Territory and Northwest Territory.
Victoria Falls looks a quiet but well kept airport. In fact CZcams is great for changing preconceptions of what these places are like

Actually this is a 737-200 not considered A "classic" The classics are the -300, -400 and -500 series.

The Boeing 737-200 was one legendary Boeing airplane. Now, this is one of a very few left, and the aircraft seems to look very well kept. It looks like it can still fly with Air Zimbabwe for a long time. I've got to fly on many 737-200s and it was an airplane that was a joy to fly on. It takes-off like a rocket and can land on many small runways. Such a great airplane it was.

I was in "Vicky Falls" back in November 2023 (flew in from South Africa on Fastjet). Wish I had seen this 737-200 while plane spotting on the return trip to South Africa (SAA A320 to Jo-burg) from "Vick Falls." Nice flight in a jetliner I can't remember how many times I flew on. Thanks for sharing!

737-200 are alive and well in Canada, love the crackle and Roar on takeoff 🛫, sounds like the Russian Kuznekov NK 8 jet engine
I do enjoy my Saturday morning coffee following Victor on his travels. I last went on a 732 in September 2001, from Capetown to Durban, with SAA. I remember those JT8Ds starting with a little thump as the fuel ignited. Wonderful airplanes.
First aircraft I ever flew on was the B737-200. Nigeria Airways! This was back in 1980. I was still in secondary school in Calabar and the flight was to the then capital, Lagos. December 19th It was and I was going over to spend the Christmas with my older brother. I remember it like it was yesterday. This video brings it all back. Thanks, oh and I've subbed.

Автор спасибо за видео и за редкий самолёт!! Считайте вам очень крупно повезло ибо лететь на Боинге 737-200 в 2023 году большая редкость. Если честно я думал они уже не летают. Сейчас в наши дни даже серию 737-300/400/500 редко встретишь не говоря уже о серии 100/200.

Летал на В 737 два раз 1999 летом и перед 2000 зимой. Ашхабад -Чарджоу , от туда на Таджикском поезде в Астрахань поехал, в Казахстане холодина лютая

I flew on countless of these originals in the 80s & 90s. Usually row 9/10 were the emergency exits with extra legroom and row 15/16 had a view of the thrust reversers deploying after landing. Air Zim used to have a very good overall service in those days, as did Ethiopian. They seem to be decimated now. The airport at Vic Falls looks splendid (Russian or Chinese funding ??). It was very different 30 years ago.

I have flown on 737-200's many times in the 70s' and 80's on Piedmont Airlines from GSO and CLT, USA. Great memories.
A few years ago I got to fly on 737-200 combi in Alaska. The cargo is up front and the passengers board through the rear door - nice plane.
What a beautiful video I remember zimbabwe I have been leaving there for almost 10 years I saw the nkomo aeroport during his construction .

The off duty captain was very welcoming.

А всего один гудок для стюардесс) и то когда совсем уже встали)
Да и вообще самолёт на год младше меня) Просто настоящий ветеран авиационного труда)
На Ту-154 такой же ковшовый реверс, просто там двигатели не на виду у пассажиров.
Такие двигатели стоят на MD-83
