- Cú Chulainn is a large wooden roller coaster from the Gravity Group and built by Gravitykraft that has operated at Emerald Park (originally known as Tayto Park) in Ireland since 2015. Having ridden it on opening day back in 2015 it was nice to ride it again nine years later when we visited the park for the media opening of two new roller coasters in the exciting Tír na nÓg (Land of Eternal Youth) area on 21 May 2024. Video features a full HD front seat POV and some brief station footage - all filmed with kind permission of the park.

Riding this in a few days! Im Convinced it has a chance of being the top wooden in Europe for me!
It's long and intense - if you like that then you will love it!
I miss it being called tayto park anyone else fell the same way about it?😢
This looks like an amazing ride, and longer than I expected.
It is a long ride...actually when I rode it I thought it was longer than I remembered from 2015!
Did you spot the coaster celebrity on the train in the station?
It looked like Fabio was sculpted into the front car. But I didn’t recognize any of the people.
@@jayducharme think...computer games...roller coaster based games...
@@davidjellis OMG - Chris Sawyer?
@@jayducharme yes - was great to spend some time with him again - really great guy
Still crazy to me this was a day trip for you.
It was a crazy day trip but well worth the effort for the new suspended thrill coaster
Wow David. Absolutely awesome footage. The clarity and the steady hand is smashing. Did you think the coaster lost some of its edge in the last nine years? Or would you say that it still one of the best wooden coasters out there? Thanks for this one. Good to hear that you are riding all over the world~

The GoPro did a pretty decent job...I guess I played a part in trying to keep it steady! It was a bit more lively than it was when new...i.e. a little rougher, but still a pretty powerful ride. I didn't ride the back of the train, apparently that was harder work, but it's a pretty decent (and large) woodie and I enjoyed the two rides I had on it.
Did you spot who was waving at me on the train in the station?
@@davidjellis I am embarrassed to say that I am not familiar with the person in the fourth row waving at you. Is he one of the designers of the coaster? A friend of yours? Coaster Bob? I know that it is not my buddy and one of the kings of coasters on CZcams Sean Flaherty. I have three people who I am subscribed to in the coaster community on CZcams. CoasterBob, Sean and yourself. Three of the best coaster historians/legends on the Net~
@@Paneeks1960 Thanks indeed...and re the person waving it was actually the person in the second row waving at 0:31 I was referring to...any ideas?

Great ride overall, but I do think the Finna force is better
