    Surely a leaf blower mainly moves the bits over to the rear roof? Spinaclean''s Atom gutter vac has a blow function too that let's you blow down rather than up from the top of the tubes. Works a treat, then it's handy to vac the gutters to complete the job.

    An off the wall question…you often say at a break that you’ll get a cup of tea. I’d be curious to know what your favorite brand and type of tea? And do you add anything to it? Just being a wee bit nosey here in the states. 😊 ❤
    I stumbled across your channel and find what you do to be quite fascinating. We don’t have roof cleaners in the states because the majority of buildings are very young and modern. Even on the old buildings we see fatter rooflines and stone being used. It amazes me the amount of different materials used for roofs and patios, as well as the amount of poor drainage because of the runoffs being so small that sludge plugs them up quickly.

  • @pressurecleaningsolutions7896

    How long does the biocide usually last once applied before moss starts to grow back?

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  Před 3 lety +5

      Can take up to 18 months for full results then you’re usually good for years but I’d depends on the weather, amount of trees by the roof, if it gets much sun etc. But roofs I’ve done 3 years ago are still great.
      There’s a rough estimate of 5 years but too many factors to promise anything, either way it will take years for a roof to get as bad as an average one you’ll get called up to clean

    Hi sid
    Your channel is really great and informative 👍🏻
    I have got all the tools to complete roof clearance jobs but haven’t done one yet and I’m slightly worried about how well the bioside will work having not done one yet . Is it just a case of give it a go and see what happens? I suppose you just have to trust the manufacturers products do what them say
    Thanks as always

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  Před 3 lety +3

      Hi mate thanks a lot and best of luck to you. Explain to the customer and to yourself :D that the biocide is a slow process and full results can take up to 18 months. However within that 18 month period as long as you've applied correctly ad the mix is good that the roof will only get better, nothing new will grow and it will just slowly die off. Do the best scraping job you can for peace of mind also :)

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  Před 3 lety +11

      I choose not to for most jobs as with older roofs there can be a decent risk of water damage leaking into the property, I also work alone so it can be a safety issue not having a man on the ground incase something goes wrong with the machine.
      I find the majority of my customers don't want pressure used on the roof too.

    Hi Sid, quick question, would you apply the biocide if the roof is wet/damp? rarely this time of year do roofs dry so i'm assuming the biocide wouldn't dry either.

    • @PartridgeExteriorCleaning
      @PartridgeExteriorCleaning  Před 3 lety +5

      yeah its okay if its damp theres no harm done with that as your solution is diluted heavily anyway, as long as it sits on the roof and has time to soak in all is well. The only problem is it being too cold or if it rains within the same day it can overdilute it/wash it away. sometimes it cant be helped and the weather comes out of nowhere so just keep an eye on it and same ill be back in 3-6 months to see how its getting on. If its not doing well ill retreat.

    You need a tool that is electric that has brushes on it and you can remote control it. A sort of rotating brush with an attached hose that can go to the ground and fill a large garbage can with the moss. Just a though from a 75 year old who would like to make your work a little easier.
