In the WTA, winning the Sunshine Double is an even bigger test of endurance than winning a grand slam. It involves playing matches almost every day for 12 matches (or if you’re not seeded, 14 matches) over 2 weeks. i think its good rybakina isnt defending wimbledon points this year, theres no real pressure on her and although shes like 4000 points off swiatek, she has the whole year to just earn points and chase her. my end of year ranking prediction is Rybakina at 1, swiatek 2, sabalenka 3. Swaitek is more vulnerable than we all thought she would be shes gone from a 5000 gap to just 2000 in the space of 2 months with still 2 slam wins to defend and a lot more points on clay.

This was even more easier than against Elise Mertens. Martinas "game-plan" broke completely into pieces at the beginning of 2nd set. Her unforced errors stepped up and somehow you know that Elena has nothing more to do than just holding her (maybe) 75% level. Comparing this match with first two ones it was like a sparing match for Elena Rybakina. She is still not at her full level but today her opponent helps her a lot. It's not her fault that it was such an "easy" match but for the rest of the tournament she needs to step up a bit. She can do this as seen in the past tournaments. The rest of the WTA should be a bit worried cause Elena Rybakina learns with every tournament she plays. Anyhow ... after Miami I would give her the advice to take a rest. If you overplay you raise the risk of getting injured. But I'm more than confident she learned this lection already. Elena Rybakina is maybe the fastest learning player right at the moment and still among the top 5 world-wide (if not more . It's interesting to see if she is able to keep up this level on clay).
