Welcome to our channel. All the weapon systems are like books. They tell us their stories. The Weapon Detective investigates these books, reads between the lines, analyses, and tells the untold. At the dawn of the Second Cold War, the fruits of new projects give us clues about the future. But current weapon systems also have their own stories. You can find in our videos technical information, historical backgrounds, what happened during the development processes, combat experience and political projection. Let's investigate the weapons together when the Second Cold War is rising.

Can you make a video about egyptian fahed APC
They should enter one in the Paris-Dakhar rally.
It's now simply called the "Dakhar" it no longer goes to Dakhar but yeah they should enter a demilitarized version.
Good idea😁👍
Why you want a armoured military to take part in a endurance race.
What part of DEACTIVATED UNARMED AMROURED SCOUT CAR do you not understand?
It will blow away the competition
Modern scout vehicle should include a small aerial recon drone controlled by vehicle crew, I think. It would provide more detailed information
Israel was developed that vehicle decades go
Stupid idea... They can buy 100s of cheap DJIs drons
theres already a vehicle like that in turkish inventory. his nickname called as 'amazon'
@@zenki4666 Hey DumDum, a DJI is effectively a "small aerial recon drone".
akrep 2 with 50 mm gun system looks like a mini tank..and looks like will be very usefull for armies..
In urban areas this would be good.

I very much appreciate this channel!
Another excellent video with an interesting analysis. As a Turkish, I hope the Akrep II will be the new AML90 of Africa.
I think Akrep is a mix of Panhard and AML90
rubbish. the rooikat is a 1000 times better
@@davidcoetzee7369Both are different class.
It's clear that this thing is too top heavy and liable to roll if traversing across a slope. The vehicle itself is meant to be a protected mobility vehicle, not an IFV. Slapping a big turret on a small, lightly armoured vehicle won't suddenly make it suitable as an infantry support vehicle.
Yea I think the smaller .50 cal remote turret would be more popular on the export market and if anyone wants an autocannon turret on it there are plenty of scout/security vehicle on the market with those. This car simply does not have enough armor to match the turret’s firepower so it would be easy to knock out even with .50 cals.
The video does state it can be modified and can be configured differently depending on buyer needs. However I do also agree with the top heavy part, also isnt ammo an issue? where are you going to store all this? How will there be space for soldiers own equipment and supplies? Also as we have seen in ukraine in harsh battlefield conditions APCS have to be used as medvacs...I have high doubts it can provide this role without emptying at least 2-3 soldiers from the vehicle.
@@testgame2742 the design is not really a utility vehicle in anyway, its meant to compete in the scout car market which contains vehicles like the AMX-10RC, Type 87 or the BRDM.
Purpose of development of this tool. residential area struggle and exploration. Specially configured for sudden maneuvers. Everything was considered, after thousands of hours of field testing, it was put into mass production.

great video man
I could see a real market for this product. Great video 👍
cool looking vehicle. I like the version with big turret the most, it's so adorably weird :D Greetings from Serbia
Essentially it's like a technical vehicle, but purpose built and superior in firepower and protection.
Given how effective technicals are for low-funded militias I think this is a great option.
I have to agree that UAS recon is rather limited, and should indeed support (and be supported by) ground reconnaissance. In a COIN (COunter INsurgency) role, armored scout cars are indeed quite useful, especially mounting heavier weaponry to support dismounted infantry. It's much easier to get one of those in a dense urban environment to 'knock' on the door with a 90mm gun than a 105mm on an MBT.
Infantile Trudeau wants to talk to Xi. Is Canada a 1st World Country? Direct experience-story.

Another wonderful video was shared by an excellent ( weapon detective) channel. Video about Otokar Akrep ll Scout car market..it has several versions for different purposes. Video clearly explained all its characteristics and historical backgrounds of its designed and upgrades....thank you for sharing
The Akrep II has amazing mobility. I like the integration of drive-by-wire systems. Very impressive.
Thats a very good desing especially for scouting also fitted with atgms this thing would be a beast
You are using drones for scouting not a huge unarmoured target
Perfect for the daily commute!
Really interesting video
If you squint your eyes, that cannon barrel says Reconnaissance in force.
Looks like a great car for the zombie apocalypse
The Cascabel was meant to work with the Urutu that carried the infantry, the same concept can work by offering the Akrep 2 with the cobra 2
This is a beautiful and capable armored car 🫡
I think the larger turrets made the vehicle quite top heavy, even in the advertisement the vehicle looked like it's about to tip over when making tight turn where the turret is facing.
There's some impressive equipment coming out of Turkiye.
I know a lot of people seem to think that these vehicles are only good for low intensity and scouting operations but I think that’s a very shortsighted viewpoint. When you look at how the west in the United States in particular has geared for combat and combat doctrines, it’s very clear that the idea is a very short and victorious war. Now against a opponent from 20 years ago that might’ve made sense and certainly against an opponent that is smaller it is possible, but in reality the equipment being used is so high-tech that anyone that can hold out for period of probably 3 to 4 months has a good chance of winning the war.
That’s where these vehicles come in. They are small, fast and sturdy enough to be highly survivable and relatively hard to hit. on top of that with low detection, signatures, courtesy of the diesel electric combination would make them highly effective and fairly stealthy. Per unit of these vehicles with an anti-air variant to take out and detect drones, and you have a highly mobile force that can affectively knock out effectively anything short of major fortifications(including tanks and unmanned vehicles). Not to mention the capability is low enough to reduce casualties, but high enough to allow for a great deal, more flexibility than an unmanned vehicle would be able to have.
And finally, while they do look top healthy, I think that is a poor evaluation of the vehicle. A large part of that is determined by weight distribution combined with vehicles dimensions. While I doubt it would be able to go up anything too steep, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that it can run very happily along a 15 to 30° slope. Which, under most circumstances would be the most extreme situation it would have to operate under. Most hills that look fairly steep are in reality only about four or 5°. Which an average riding lawnmower can handle something that steep.
This designed for operations, not wars, but they can use in wars surely.
Mobility and effective weapons on armour combat vehicles. + Radio Frequency disruptor guns.
I want one to drive around Los Angeles.
Nice firepower and crazy recoil on that, but more practical for smaller and third world nations where operating IFV's and Tanks are expensive.
It's like a upgraded ferret
More like those staghounds in WWII with cannon turrets
Looking like a scaled down French CRAB from 2014
I like seafood
Once your thermal sites pick up enemy armor, you are going to want to throw smoke and run. The last thing you want to do is start trading blows with a T-72 or entrenched infantry with ATGMs. So, what is the purpose of the 90 mm cannon? You are out ranged, out gunned and out armored.
Fire support. Main purpose of canons is not to deal with enemy armor.
I wonder what the rollover risk is.
Really interesting vehicle especially the 90mm version, however I've recently heard about that the Belgians had some issues with the Cockerill 90mm gun, because the the APFSDS rounds ruined the cannon barrel, I don't know if they have got rid of this problem. But I see some fantasy in it, in my oppinion it could have a good use in such Cossack style probe attacks that the Ukranians did againts Russian position with Humvees during the....first bigger counterattack if I rember correctly. Also do we have a video about the Jaguar? Because I remembered like we do, but maybe my memories are just missleading me. Can we have one? Anyhow, tanks for the video, it was very informative.
We will make a video for the Jaguar.
@@WeaponDetective Thank you very much Dear Detective!
don't make my sneakers laugh, do you remember the French combat vehicles with the 105 mm AMX-10 gun, and what happened to them in Ukraine? this is a stillborn concept.
@@user-dl3nc4jx7k and do you remember how the Ukranians were f*cking around Russian troops with Humvees? Also if I remember correctly they weren't used as they were intended, plus the Ukranians aren't the masters of using such vehicles...
@@user-dl3nc4jx7k a "stillborn" concept that is now 80 years old: EBR, AMX13, AML, ERC Sagaie, AMX10 RC and now EBRC Jaguar... France develop, build, use and sell armored cars and light tanks with heavy firepower since the 50's and they followed the French armed forces in all of their deployments and wars.
Among many operations, the French AMX10 RCs notably fought and destroyed Iraki T-72s during the first Gulf War. So it is just a question of doctrine
And about the AMX10s in Ukraine, the AFU only lost 4 of them, including 3 that were abandoned. This is a normal result to me and Russian propaganda doesn't make a lie true
bravo
Make my feel a déjà vu feeling, yes the Panhard AML and VBL!!
Could you cover Unmanned Ground Vehicles such as the Uran 9?
It's an excellent idea it's got a looks like a automatic 40 Beaufort millimeter cannon in the hole is probably full of fuel and ammunition so it won't be too heavy
If there was a version that could fire 90mm shells 10km away with decent precision while on the move, with targeting link from drone, satellite, observer station or plane, would be one hell of a based counter-battery piece.
i think would be overkill for chassis like that, but nice idea.
What 90mm gun has a range of 10km
@@Truthbomb918 I can't really name any 90mm guns with this range, especially recent ones, because nobody is really developing 90mm guns for serious anymore (and that's first assumption - if there was a need to develop it for this task, it would be done), but I think 8,8cm Flak 36 could fire it at, like, 15km on ground targets. Yes, yes, you're right, Flak was 5 meters long, but that's not the point, this distance would be pretty reachable by some munitions and many guns designed mid-XX century, imagine what could be done today with CAD/AI-designed barrels, rocket-assisted munitions and GPS guidance (yes, costs as hell, but, again, that's not the point). Second assumption is that modern precision would be far better suitable for counter-battery fire (you can even think of counter-mortar and counter-trench fire) than it was for WWII guns, where it was required to spit out ammo on areas in order to hit anything. Now, third assumption is that 10km is a ceiling for this task, because highly mobile system of this kind can get way closer, say, 5km, for mortar suppression with targeting link from drone and be relatively safe from helicopters, front observers, return counter-battery fire than any conventional towed artillery, which survives because of distances of 20-25km and highly-jerked teams which manage to pack it in 40 seconds.
Sold! Where can I preorder?
I wonder why they chose the odd mounting position for the optical sensors. Seems to me that like a tank turret, you'd likely want that mounted above the turret face for optical viewing angles, as well as thickening the frontal armor capability for what seems like a manned turret, but whatever.
MALAYSIAN ARMY are PLEASED with TURKISH MODERN WEAPONS. Even us the public of Malaysian citizen are PROUD OF OUR CALLOBRATION.

They should market this to hunters in US.

Uhmmmm that 90mm just might be a tad overkill. The 25 & 30mm autocannons are fine.
@TheMrPeteChannel I was thinking of counter-battery fire possibility, which is usually medium distance and hit and run tactics. New KF51tank claims to have this possibility with data link from several sources, for example.
OTOKAR...Pls suggest AKREP 2 (90mm turret) to Malaysia to replace scorpion light tank.
A successor for the ERC 90 Sagaie
I believe the successor of that may be the Jaguar.
There was once a company in the USA with a similar name called Autocar.
Its the same name, just translated.
Idk if it's the company you mean, could be a coincidence.
@@heroiccombatengineer6018 The two companies are unrelated.
Where do the bags go ?
cool
Why not have windows to your turret if you have them on the hull? Gunner & commander visibility in scouting mission or low intensity war is life saving.
If your armor can only stop 7.56mm then it should have windows.
That is a big gun for a light armor vehicle but I guess the AMX RC 10 isn't much different in that manner.
To whom it may concern, I am the Lead Geneva International Agent. Where can I purchase or view purchasing one for my personal security? Thank you
That large turret might make it top-heavy which could make it flip over. I think they should try to update that turret so it would be smaller, it doesn't really need any defense armor, it's not a tank, so only that gun is enough, strip everything else.
It doesn’t the engineers aren’t stupid
@@illuminati2341 Yeah, but engineers aren't the ones who make those decisions. It's those not as bright generals and politicians who all got their own ideas how that project should look like. That's why most military projects never get anywhere. That big gun looks exactly some random generals not so bright idea.
The ultimate RC car.
Is the 90LP gun turret gyro-stabilized?
It is optional
Yes
How are you supposed to replace those rear lights in the field?
Yeah but in combat operations you leave your lights off & use infrared, night vision, ground radar & thermals.
They are Scout type car, minimum light is better for stealth.
How does it compare to the US made JLTV?
Look at the South African Rooikat.or the Italian Centauro for 90mm or 105mm armoured cars that want to be tanks.
12:08. That's a single use technical with the GRAD
i mean, heavy scouting is a good idea, if you have the shot and you can punish the enemy by taking a moment decision do it
Nice but is it ulez compliant?
13:05 Are those Ratel 90 in the parade?
This vehicle is suitable for Malaysia GGK, what do you all think?
If I remember correctly, Malaysia was an sounth pasific country consisting of thousands of small islands. For this reason, I don't think that Malaysia needs such a vehicle, it can do this job more successfully with reconnaissance drones instead of scout car. For example, Akrep-II would be very useful in heavily forested, heavily rainy places such as Vietnam, where it is difficult to intel with a drone, or in places such as Ukraine, where armored vehicles and tanks may sink due to muddy area in winter, they need a lightweight vehicle to explore off-road conditions. But isn't much needed for countries with flat, rainforest-free, comfortable terrain for logistics like Western Europe or South Pacific island countries without having big chunk of mainland.
Perfect for the farmers hinting those darn rabbits in Australia.
the king's throne may still be akrep but it wont be long if the new himas wolf pack is launched to market capable of releasing both mortar, rocket, missile & drones of various range & warhead from the vertical tubes behind the vehicle.....
OTOKAR is the first company to produce the pigeon chest chassis design in the world. Later, other countries copied this invention from Turkish industry.
The French tank doctrine make large use of scout cars even today in their tank formations, for scouting and security.
Lol
It's neat and it has potential but, if you ask me, the turret's too damn big.
When an opposing force see's this vehicle: "ahh crap."
Its look cool armor car..
The Haitian military need some of this car
It reminds me of the old Daimler armour car during ww2
Great vehicle.
Why does it have an APFSDS round if it can only penetrate 100 mm of steel? Why not just use a HEAT round?
My 10 live premiere
It's basically an IFV jeep
Except it doesn't carry infantry
I wouldn’t be sticking that big gun turret on it, instead an RWS, mast sight, anti UAV kit, CBRN detectors, ECM boxes etc, plus kit to support launching its own UAV or UGV. Looks a bit like a cross between Fennek and a Hummer. Oh just seen the surveillance variant….oh well. Who to buy it? For a country like Malawi its ideal, any Ferret operator this would be a good like for like update.
Sebetul y sie indonesia terjalin kerjasama alih pungsi tehnology soal alustista dgn negara turkey mk y indonesia bersyukur bisa bersm2 mengembangkan berbagai senjata emang indonesia inti y harus beli dlu prodak senjata baru tot terimaksih turkey..
Has anyone played that custom halo reach map with the warthog that had a scorpion tank cannon on top of it? that's what this reminds me of
Malaysia should have this vehicle, it is really strong
Would rather have an armored scout car with guided AT missiles, mortars, or high caliber fully automatic, armor piercing or explosive round capable gun mounted on it, rather than an artillery piece.
Unless its a surplus artillery gun, then it could be a good mobile artillery
