    Welcome to our channel. All the weapon systems are like books. They tell us their stories. The Weapon Detective investigates these books, reads between the lines, analyses, and tells the untold. At the dawn of the Second Cold War, the fruits of new projects give us clues about the future. But current weapon systems also have their own stories. You can find in our videos technical information, historical backgrounds, what happened during the development processes, combat experience and political projection. Let's investigate the weapons together when the Second Cold War is rising.

    It's clear that this thing is too top heavy and liable to roll if traversing across a slope. The vehicle itself is meant to be a protected mobility vehicle, not an IFV. Slapping a big turret on a small, lightly armoured vehicle won't suddenly make it suitable as an infantry support vehicle.

    • @dannyzero692
      @dannyzero692 Před 9 měsíci +11

      Yea I think the smaller .50 cal remote turret would be more popular on the export market and if anyone wants an autocannon turret on it there are plenty of scout/security vehicle on the market with those. This car simply does not have enough armor to match the turret’s firepower so it would be easy to knock out even with .50 cals.

    • @testgame2742

      The video does state it can be modified and can be configured differently depending on buyer needs. However I do also agree with the top heavy part, also isnt ammo an issue? where are you going to store all this? How will there be space for soldiers own equipment and supplies? Also as we have seen in ukraine in harsh battlefield conditions APCS have to be used as medvacs...I have high doubts it can provide this role without emptying at least 2-3 soldiers from the vehicle.

    I have to agree that UAS recon is rather limited, and should indeed support (and be supported by) ground reconnaissance. In a COIN (COunter INsurgency) role, armored scout cars are indeed quite useful, especially mounting heavier weaponry to support dismounted infantry. It's much easier to get one of those in a dense urban environment to 'knock' on the door with a 90mm gun than a 105mm on an MBT.

    I know a lot of people seem to think that these vehicles are only good for low intensity and scouting operations but I think that’s a very shortsighted viewpoint. When you look at how the west in the United States in particular has geared for combat and combat doctrines, it’s very clear that the idea is a very short and victorious war. Now against a opponent from 20 years ago that might’ve made sense and certainly against an opponent that is smaller it is possible, but in reality the equipment being used is so high-tech that anyone that can hold out for period of probably 3 to 4 months has a good chance of winning the war.
    That’s where these vehicles come in. They are small, fast and sturdy enough to be highly survivable and relatively hard to hit. on top of that with low detection, signatures, courtesy of the diesel electric combination would make them highly effective and fairly stealthy. Per unit of these vehicles with an anti-air variant to take out and detect drones, and you have a highly mobile force that can affectively knock out effectively anything short of major fortifications(including tanks and unmanned vehicles). Not to mention the capability is low enough to reduce casualties, but high enough to allow for a great deal, more flexibility than an unmanned vehicle would be able to have.
    And finally, while they do look top healthy, I think that is a poor evaluation of the vehicle. A large part of that is determined by weight distribution combined with vehicles dimensions. While I doubt it would be able to go up anything too steep, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that it can run very happily along a 15 to 30° slope. Which, under most circumstances would be the most extreme situation it would have to operate under. Most hills that look fairly steep are in reality only about four or 5°. Which an average riding lawnmower can handle something that steep.

    Once your thermal sites pick up enemy armor, you are going to want to throw smoke and run. The last thing you want to do is start trading blows with a T-72 or entrenched infantry with ATGMs. So, what is the purpose of the 90 mm cannon? You are out ranged, out gunned and out armored.

      Among many operations, the French AMX10 RCs notably fought and destroyed Iraki T-72s during the first Gulf War. So it is just a question of doctrine

    • @wwlb4970
      @wwlb4970 Před 9 měsíci

      @@Truthbomb918 I can't really name any 90mm guns with this range, especially recent ones, because nobody is really developing 90mm guns for serious anymore (and that's first assumption - if there was a need to develop it for this task, it would be done), but I think 8,8cm Flak 36 could fire it at, like, 15km on ground targets. Yes, yes, you're right, Flak was 5 meters long, but that's not the point, this distance would be pretty reachable by some munitions and many guns designed mid-XX century, imagine what could be done today with CAD/AI-designed barrels, rocket-assisted munitions and GPS guidance (yes, costs as hell, but, again, that's not the point). Second assumption is that modern precision would be far better suitable for counter-battery fire (you can even think of counter-mortar and counter-trench fire) than it was for WWII guns, where it was required to spit out ammo on areas in order to hit anything. Now, third assumption is that 10km is a ceiling for this task, because highly mobile system of this kind can get way closer, say, 5km, for mortar suppression with targeting link from drone and be relatively safe from helicopters, front observers, return counter-battery fire than any conventional towed artillery, which survives because of distances of 20-25km and highly-jerked teams which manage to pack it in 40 seconds.

    That large turret might make it top-heavy which could make it flip over. I think they should try to update that turret so it would be smaller, it doesn't really need any defense armor, it's not a tank, so only that gun is enough, strip everything else.

    • @CruWiT
      @CruWiT Před 8 měsíci

      If I remember correctly, Malaysia was an sounth pasific country consisting of thousands of small islands. For this reason, I don't think that Malaysia needs such a vehicle, it can do this job more successfully with reconnaissance drones instead of scout car. For example, Akrep-II would be very useful in heavily forested, heavily rainy places such as Vietnam, where it is difficult to intel with a drone, or in places such as Ukraine, where armored vehicles and tanks may sink due to muddy area in winter, they need a lightweight vehicle to explore off-road conditions. But isn't much needed for countries with flat, rainforest-free, comfortable terrain for logistics like Western Europe or South Pacific island countries without having big chunk of mainland.
