The hatch starts at a higher price point because the stripped-poor version is not offered in a hatch. Those base models are often just for advertising price points, and they generally are not popular. Comparing hatch and sedan with comparable equipment & options tends to put the hatch as ~$500 more expensive.
Nice because I don't like how hatchbacks look anyway. If mazda continues to make good looking cars like this, this might be my first new car in a couple of years.
Chris H. I wouldn't recommend due to their technology being behind the competition. The tpms system is just a light that indicates one of the tires is low. In the other hand, you have mostly anything else that isn't a mazda. Which have had tpms with specific tire pressure for each one. The only thing that got my attention was the display. It was a bit after that I got my car that my pandora started malfunctioning. Bluetooth works fine but what's the point of having something there if it doesn't work properly. The knobs are cheap, the volume's black cap popped off and I haven't been able to find it. The headlights suck, I'm switching mine to the Axela soon. The gas paddle is so close to the center of the car. So my leg constantly rubs against the plastic. Whats nice is how it drives and the leather interior.
This is very dry humour, with some sarcasm put in for good measure and I like it. Good job! So... Because you said cool, awesome, nice, feature found on more expensive cars only a few hundred times during the course of this review my wild guess is that you assuredly kinda, positively maybe, like the car? (I own a M3 Sedan BTW).

Was looking for an inexpensive compact but was afraid I wouldn’t like how “cheap” The interiors are looked nor the handling. YOU just sold me on this car with that beautiful interior and handling. Great job!!!
@@nawz0003 I got it in February 2017 and have thus far put 140000 km on it. Not a single issue. I am pretty autistic about keeping the engine oil as fresh as possible and hence I change the oil much earlier than the maintenance plan requires 🤷🏼
Great review... I have a 2016 Grand touring and I don't regret buying it for 1 minute...practical, stylish, fun to drive....not to mention great gas mileage.

The jazz handzz convienced me to zoom zoom and buy one of these. Actually im getting the 2017 mazda 3 next month used at 35 thousand miles. Cant wait to zoom zoom with the music blasting. Best car for the price.

My family has one of these, but its a hatchback. I say there is not alot of space in the trunk, tbh I would prefer the sedan WAY way more than the Mazda 3 Hatchback. Great first car as well if its not the GT trim.

Nevertheless, I like the reviews.
It has a lot of bump! l had the bass turned up a little bit and I could definitely feel the vibration, and the mirrors were shaking pretty good. When you turn the bass up too much, there's a fair bit of distortion when you crank the volume. Thanks for watching!
I'm about to buy one this week. I am terrified of one thing though. The position of the cup holders relative to the control knobs for the display... oh no I have to brake hard with a semi not sealed cup of coffee in the holder just aft of expensive controls! I can see that being a huge bummer.
I just test drove the Touring and Grand Touring model. Both have have Smart Access that allows you to hold you hand on it to unlock it. Why does your model not? Is it not an American model?
It has a rotary engine? Really? I thought they discontinued it and went with Skyactiv. It was announced rotary would be back but not till next year or 2019.
Great review! Does anyone know if the GT model uses actual leather or is it leatherette? I love the white and black seats but I'm a vegan and wouldn't want them to be actual leather. If anyone knows, please comment! :)
The worst thing about my Honda civic is the tiny horn buttons on the steering wheel. Not convenient. I shouldn't have to search for it when I need to use it.
why do I need or want a street sign detector? I have 2 already I call them my eyes. I'd rather have a flashing middle finger so I don't have to take my hands off the wheel.

I think the saloon looks a lot better than the hatch because I the hatch looks a bit like a bubble from the windscreen back
