- This video is a first stab at doing an overview of the components that come with the High Voltage upgrade kit for the BBSHD. I am sure I will improve on this over time but it will do for now. Please use the timestamps to jump to the part you want to see. This is not an end to end install as everyones builds are different. Instead it looks at all of the parts and provides some tips and tricks for how to get a good result. Let me know if I missed anything of if you think something should be added.

This kit can also be fitted to the BBS 02 also out of interest not just the HD version, all that's required is to change the phase wire connectors on the motor from bullet round type to female spade type, note they will require soldering to do the job correctly .

Batteries are tough to get with the shipping regulations. I will try and sort something out.
I been watching this in anticipation. What guage are the phase wires and will it hurt to have them 2ft long or more?
I think they are 10 guage or 12. Two foot should be fine. We have not had any issues with people running this length.

Hi there. My 1000w M625 has broken with the controller potentially being the part that is at fault. I would rather spend money on such an upgrade rather than go stock again. I presume that as you mention the specific screws for M625 that the kit is available for M625? Any specific differences? Will the 50.4v battery with m625 kit work? With being 4000w I presume it will drain it pretty quickly? Also when in stock how much approx delivery to UK? Thanks

Hi there.can i use a dc circuit breaker close to the battery with the anit spark connecters if so is there any extra benefit or protection from me just using a xt 90 anti spark connecters without a breaker looking to grab one of your high voltage kits so any help would be greatly appreciated
I have 100 amp breaker like they use on the Sur Ron for my setup. The main protection though is still proper use of the XT90s.

We are not currently doing anything with 3rd party controllers. If that changes I will update.
Are the orange stand off clips available to purchase separately?
They can be I just got to figure it out. Was going to do them in black tho! Well can be orange if you really want!

ive managed to knock my display and all functionality of bike should i change display and controller?
Are you on our Discord Robert. Be way easier for you to get help there. It's likely just a display issue or maybe a broken wire. Have you checked all the connections. Best to unplug the battery first tho.
How long is wait to get a kit. I see their backordered
Its a few months right now. We are waiting on controllers. There is a list you can go on and we will contact people in order.

What you think about the m625? Better?

My 52v battery came with an anderson. my soldering iron would not heat up the thick wires hot enough to solder a t-60 so I jusy spliced them together. works fine.
Did you crimp? A good crimp beats solder almost always.
@@HighVoltageKits No, but I am going to. I just split into 3 strands, spliced them, then shrink tubed them.
what amps and watts your controller upgrade to? and what voltage battery can it handle?
i have 52v batt and 1000w controller 35amps currently
You need something that can handle 60 amps+ 72 volts tends to keep things cooler which is what I run these days.
I wonder if anyone tried to remove the paddles and use only motorcycle twinring and strengthened chain with the X1 ? Can anyone confirm it’s possible and can be done?
I am not aware of this being done. The chain I think you could convert pretty easily. I am not sure how much wide open throttle the X1 will handle long term. The heat build up gets to be an issue after a while.

We make it but its out of stock due to controller shortages. We are back in business mid year.
Can’t we use the display that we have purchased with our kits?
If by kit you are meaning the original BBSHD kit then at present no. ASI removed the Bafang protocol from the controllers which left us with only a few choices. The best option is the eggrider in terms of flexibility. The other option is the 750C however it has to have a pretty specific firmware. Recently the Bafang protocol was re enabled however it will take some work to get that back into what we do. So in the future it might be a possibility but currently it is not an option we can give.

Where are going to put the battery on that frame?
Either underneath the downtube or alternatively either side of the frame. Still pondering options. The downtube would be the easiest. The other way the more creative.

what battery will be needed to make this kit
Do the plastic gears on the motor need to be changed?
If you gear the bike correctly then you will not need to change the Nylon gear. I am still on my original Nylon gear. You will need a battery that is capable of at least 60 amps continuous to get full use of the kit.

Probably a bit low spec to take full advantage of the kit. Most 48 volt packs are around 30-40 amp max draw. You are welcome on our Discord to chat to the team making the kits. You might need something higher power though.
