HOW TO RENT AN APARTMENT IN PERU AND NOT GET RIPPED OFF

  • My new video today is devoted to our new apartment in Cusco!
How do you rent a place here? How much should you pay? And how fast can you find one?
Every single time we move to a new country, we give ourselves about 2-3 days to find an apartment. And every single time it has been enough time (with the exception of Brazil when it took us 4 days).
Usually our contract is for 3 months, which is considered a short-term rental. If you can sign it for a year - you will have so many more options with much better prices! But, considering our tourist visa only grants us 90 days in a country, we never rent long term. This time was not any different and in 3 months we will be leaving a lovely place we have just moved in...
Watch the video to see what it looks like, where it is located and how much we are paying for it.
And hopefully after having seen what we've got it will be much harder to rip you off!

Great video and helpful. The volume of the music was a little too high and made it hard to hear you at times.

Hey, sure, sorry for the late response, I haven't been active here much. Rent in Lima is higher than in Cusco because of one simple reson - it is the capital)) obviously it'd depend on the district, but I would count on paying around $500 for 1 or max 2 bedroom in a residential area. Be careful nowadays though! All the protests and the strikes in Peru do not influence the rent market in a good way...and I don't think it'll get calmer anytime in the next few month
