The BEST of the best!!! Lyn has been my utmost top favorite organist since the 1960's, and will always remain so. So glad I happened to find this here! I have the original VHS copy of this performance from decades ago, but no longer have the means to play it. Thank you so much for sharing this!!
I first saw Lyn Larsen at the Organ Stop Pizza in Phoenix AZ on 7th street when I was just a little kid. The organ mesmerized me - I felt like it was alive! I still have the record from there. Thank you for posting this - I have not seen him play since then!
Thank you so much for this concert. Lyn combines subtlety and musicality along with brilliant technique. I have just watched a concert with young organists who had absolutely stunning technical ability, but a total lack of musicality. With very large instruments it was a matter of how loud they could play rather than how musical. But Lyn (who I had the privilege to know years ago) has always been the consummate musician.
Excellent Program Lyn! / Lyn the first time I meet you was with BILL BROWN : 1978 the Fabulous Fox : You and Bill were looking at the Fox Organ : Hope you are doing well : Would like to wish You a very Blessed Joyful Christmas and a Healthy New Year 2023. It is going on 24 years as staff house organist at the Chase Park Plaza Cinema.
Lyn is a fantastic technician. But unlike too many organists including some big names from the past, he never lets it get in the way of the music. That's a main reason he's been my favorite for many years.
Absolutely mind boggling,a true impresario, and i thought Reg Dixon was the best thankyou for the post.Blessings
One of the best theater organists that ever lived.

His unique style and feeling makes him one of the very best. Thanks for sharing this.

Greg, what year was this recorded?
The date of the Theatre III appx 1994.
Any idea what model organ that is?
Matt Gerhard Hi Matt, it is an MDS Theatre III
I guess my question would be, "can you get any better"" I don't think so!!
Mark Herman is good also
Knitting please
is this a digital organ?
I believe it is, an Allen. What model (or when it came out), I have no clue, but this video was also posted by the Allen Organ Company.
And it had to be quite a while ago, so this is pretty amazing sound for so far back. Larsen has had gray hair for decades lol.
I mean, this show is taken from VHS if that tells you anything.
@@TurtleFL It's an Allen MDS Theatre III. Check out the on-screen graphics around 0:29. I agree that it sounds pretty good for such old technology.
