    This video will automatically be mirrored on our Bit Chute Channel: www.bitchute.com/channel/them...
    In this episode our crews recorded the entire trip of Metro Line 460 Local/Express from the first stop in Downtown Los Angeles to the last stop at Disneyland in Anaheim. Metro Line 460 is one of two routes that travels outside of Los Angeles County, the other being Metro Line 161 to Thousand Oaks in Ventura County (MTA, 2018). Line 460 was once dubbed as a Summer Fun Bus in the 1980s, CPH (2010) and currently MTA's 2nd longest route at 43.1 miles or 69.3 km (Rome2Rio, 2019). The featured vehicle in this episode is a New Flyer Xcelsior XN40 class bus out of Metro Division 1 (CPTDB, 2019).
    From the first stop at 5th and Los Angeles Street, line 460 makes local stops in Downtown Los Angeles, express stops along the Harbor Transitway on its way to the Metro Greenline Station in Norwalk. Line 460 once again makes local stops in Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs, Cerritos, La Mirada, Buena Park, West Anaheim, Fullerton, and Anaheim. There will be continuous video coverage from Downtown Los Angeles, through the Harbor Transitway all the way to Disneyland in Anaheim. These are scenes of that afternoon.
    If you happen to give this video a thumbs down, please let us know the reason so that next time we can make your viewing experience enjoyable. Thank you, Staff

    I have annual passes to both Knotts Berry Farm and Disneyland. I use the 460 Express bus all the time. I m very pleased metro continues this Express service. However I would like if metro offered a more direct bus version of the 460 bus and bypass the majority of the local street portions

    • @TheMetropolitanNetwork

      The service between Norwalk Station and Fullerton Park & Ride Station is mainly for discretionary passengers who use the bus at all hours and they do use it too. Maybe in the future the MTA will create an amusement theme bus and call it Line 465, freeway routes and stops at Knotts/Soak City and Disneyland and Anaheim Convention Center and one way fare would $3.00. • @TheMetropolitanNetwork
      @TheMetropolitanNetwork  Před 2 lety +1

      Since October 2021, AM times (6a-8a) there have been an uptick of tourist riders. PM hours around (6p-722p) workers from the Garden walk/Disneyland and Knotts ride towards Downtown LA but hardly any tourists. It’s looks like pre Covid ridership at least in the Orange County areas.

  • @itsexlyosnap5660
    @itsexlyosnap5660 Před 6 měsíci

    Good news starting on December 10th, Line 460 will no longer have stop restrictions in Downtown LA. Riders can now board in the Downtown LA area to the northern terminal. Also, Line 460 will have 2 extra trips added (in both directions) to accommodate ridership.
    I saw from this month's board in Gateway Cities for the changes that one of the transit plans had confirmed Line 460 split may no longer happen or even be considered for the future as she said it will result in a chunk load of inconvenience with riders at Norwalk. With the premium express fares no longer in effect, Line 460 has been increasing in the freeway portion of the route along with the local portion.

    • @TheMetropolitanNetwork
      @TheMetropolitanNetwork  Před 4 lety +4

      We commented on Metro’s Instagram about that. Metro rather cater to the inner communities while leaving its faithful discretionary riders along orange outpost in the cold. If MTA cuts the line in half, within a few years Line 120 and 460 will no longer exist at all according to transit history. Remember Line 470/471 or 121 and among others...

    MTA should partnership with OC Bus and Riverside Transit to implement a time-transfer zone with OCBus Line 83 and RTA 200. With the partnership, the agencies should have a free-transfer fare to either of those 3 lines and also accept fare from either of those agencies respectfully. (ex: Line 460 to OCBus 83), (RTA 200 to Line 460), and (OCBus 83 to RTA 200). As speaking of Line 460, MTA should improve weekday peak/midday from 30 minutes to 15 or 20 minutes for the full ride. Also, MTA should add one more late night trip in both directions, departing 11:15 PM in DTLA, while 1:00 AM in Disneyland.

    • @TheMetropolitanNetwork
      @TheMetropolitanNetwork  Před 2 lety +2

      When we used to work in the IE a few years ago, we barley made the last connection to Southbound Line 460 at 10 pm in Downtown LA. A lot of owl workers from the San Fernando Valley that work at Disneyland would agree with that recommendation by having Line 460 departing Downtown LA at 12am. We recommend that Line 577 operate all night from El Monte to Norwalk Station for late night connections from the Silver Line and Silver Streak instead of having a rider travel all the way to Downtown LA. Only in a perfect and commonsense world this positive service change would happen.

    • @itsexlyosnap5660
      @itsexlyosnap5660 Před 2 lety +2

      @@TheMetropolitanNetwork An owl service of Line 577 is fully recommended. Currently Line 577 only operates on weekdays. On the first phase, expand Line 577 to an all-day 7 day week service. We can add the owl service on the 2nd phase after Line 577 implemented their weekend service. For Line 460, MTA should operate free service to patrons who are going into the Knotts Berry Farm or Disneyland parks with a proof of a pass/ticket they bought to the driver.

      RTD and later LA Metro had crazy routes going zigzag for many miles, the old routes either began or was at the midway point at Fullerton Park & Ride Station; Line 104 to Downtown LA, Line 130 to Redondo Beach, Line 149 to Riverside/Long Beach, and Line 460 to Downtown LA/Disneyland. Line 149 would stop right in front of Claim Jumper back in the day, that line was also a zigzag long distance route.
