- Travelled to St. John’s, NFLD for 3 days and stayed at the Delta St. John’s, only a block away from the infamous George Street. Took a road trip around the Irish loop to St. Vincent’s Beach to see minke whales and explore “the Rock”.

Hi Krista, i really enjoyed your blog, im Bernie a retired Aussie seafarer , I sailed into ST Johns in dec 1974 , it was so cold snow everywhere, we went ashore and into bar, and had a few beers thats when i saw a nice guy who we met and he put salt in his beer a first for me and Canadians are a very friendly people .Thanks Krista, Kind Regards Bernie .

The people are so nice in St. John's! I'm from Toronto and the saying that "Canadians are so nice/polite" is not exactly true in such a big city. But when you go out East, the people are amazing!

Hi Krista. The fish are called Caplin. They run at this time of year. Once they spawn they die. It is what attracts the whales. They come to feed on them. Hope you enjoyed your trip!
