- Established in 1785, Saint John, New Brunswick is Canada's oldest incorporated city. The city is located on the Bay of Fundy and is well-known for its historic uptown, cultural attractions, and natural wonders. In this video, we’ll provide an overview of our August 2023 visit to Saint John, when our ship, the Carnival Venezia, docked at the Marco Polo Cruise Terminal and we spent a few hours taking in the sights and tasting various Canadian foods.

Unfortunately, Barbour's General Store, which was shown near the end of our video, is no longer standing. The store was heavily damaged in a fire and was later demolished. atlantic.ctvnews.ca/barbour-s-general-store-site-demolished-new-welcome-centre-set-to-open-in-2024-1.6481239

Loved your video, I live in the UK but love Saint John. Nice filming, nice informative balanced view.
Thank you, great presentation.
I must say all the prices of your food and drink were very reasonable. Thanks for the walking tour info🚢😊
Loved your video. Thank you.
Here's why I think about living in NB, NS, or pretty much anywhere east of Quebec. There was a photo in this video and in that photo there was a sign that read: Don't have time for breakfast? Try our breakfast sandwiches or wraps!. That sign got me thinking about breakfast. My city is all breakfast wraps and sandwiches already, wait, what is breakfast, if not breakfast sandwiches and wraps? Then I remembered, breakfast was a plate of at least a couple different foods. It also might have come with cold AND hot beverages. It might have been so involved as to also have a bowl before that plate with some grains and a cold liquid. Then I missed breakfast and realize I hadn't even grieved over the passing of breakfast for this luke-warm square or cylinder version of a meal we pass for breakfast now,..here. That's why I think about living in NB, NS, or pretty much anywhere east of Quebec.
Wow, what a great video! I am from Saint John, NB and this was an excellent description of how to navigate the uptown area. Hope to see you back again when the Market Square area is finished updating the boardwalk area! 😊
So glad you enjoyed the video! We can't wait to get back to explore more of Saint John!
Great video! I have lived in Saint John just about my entire life. I actually live on Water Street in the condo building across from the cruise terminal. Everyone I know definitely pronounces poutine ass poo-teen not poo-tin :)
I was wondering if you knew approximately how far the walking tour is. I have some limited mobility and am trying to gage if I could hang with it or not. Thank you.
The total distance we walked was about 2 km (1.2 mi) round trip from the cruise terminal to Kings Square and back. You might want to check Google Street View to see how steep the roads are by comparing the sidewalk incline to the buildings. King Street is a good one to check.
I’m Saint John New Brunswick born and raised! 😌
