This song spoke to me. Growing up I was passed around from foster home to foster home, each home tryna get my filled up on prescriptions to keep me under control. The shit I went through in some homes led to me running away, but the pain of not having all the pills i had been put on led me to self medicate, I became a meth addict, occasionally dabbling in heroine. (proudly never touched any needles tho) but this path led to heart problems from purposely ODing, and over time my brain became dumb, simple things like "putting 2 and 2 together" became much harder.
I'm 5 years clean now, last year I got my heart fixed. This year I struggle more then ever with my anxiety and depression bbut refuse to take any medication for fear of falling back in to old habits.
But my pain doesn't go away. Every day I am reminded of how dumb I have become, how my brain doesn't function proper anymore, how alone and misunderstood I feel. I wanna say fuck my sobriety and a part of me really wants to die. But instead I write these novels in strangers' comment sections hoping maybe one day life will become worth it.

I know this is prob shit to hear but AA. Nothing worked for me, I was shooting dope bc I couldn’t function and like it fr is the only thing that worked for me. I hope you find some peace.
I was diagnosed with anxiety disorder at the age of 13 and was a heavy alcoholic / pill popper until 35 and I am now 3 years sober. There is a way out, I personally use AA and did some very difficult self reflection and soul searching and have never been happier than I am now today. Zero prescriptions for me. Don't ask yourself why you're addicted, ask yourself why you're hurt and what's missing in your life and go from there

You will make it babe. I’ve went to jail too many times, rehabs, hospitalized bc I continued to drink and do drugs. I struggle with anxiety and depression also. I know all too well how it feels to want to escape your head so badly you will do anything. Trust me babe. I’m 30 now and happily married. I wild out for a hot ass minute, but I finally quit all the bullshit. It never caused anything but jail and heartache for myself and all the others around me. I finally quit. You will get it babe, just one thing please don’t ever let yourself forget is you will make it. Look at all the others who have, if we can, you can. Keep you head up and and if you never lose faith in yourself I promise it will get better.
