A CLASSIC and Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron are true magic for sure. This movie never gets old regardless of time!!
Oscar Levant was brilliant too!
I’ve seen the movie 3 times
I discovered this movie as a high school grad over a decade ago. And I didn’t know what sheer beauty I was witnessing for the first time.
One of my favourite movies of all time xx
im 19, i first watched this film when i was 14. one of my favourite films abolutely timeless
I remember when I watched the movie at 19 for the first time
I just started getting into classic old films such as Casablanca, Gone with the wind and of course Singin’ in the rain. I gotta say this is definitely up there with my top favorites, a true gem everyone should see at least once. ❤
This looks like a great movie! Gene Kelly was gorgeous ;) Loved him in Singing in the Rain and the half of On The Town I've seen

Singin not Singing.

for the last time, 480p is not HD :-)
BUT this is the best looking trailer a quick search brought up, so I guess you're forgiven.
No not high definition. 480p is standard definition (DVD quality). The uploader is lying to his viewers
this movie was AMAZING 🙌
One of the greatest films ever made! 🎥 🎬 🏆
Another of Hollywood's Great Dance Couples!!! 💘 🎶 💃 👡 🎷 🎥 🎹
"The French will have a word for it.... 'C'est Magnifique!'" That's two words.
Reminds me of a line in TANK GIRL: "I have two words for you--brush your teeth!"
oulala!!!!! c est magnifique.......
It's actually 3.

Amo questo film, incarna proprio l' epoca d oro di Hollywood ❤insieme a tanti altri
Una película que me fascina...
Gene Kelly was the best dancer.. Sorry Fred Astire, you were amazing but Gene Kelly is quite simply my favorite.
I prefer Fred over Gene
@@manuelorozco7760 Different eras!! I adore Gene because he produced the movies.
@@valentinogal781 That sounds reasonable since he was an innovator. But I was introduced to both of them in my early teens
@@manuelorozco7760 I respect that. 😊😊❤️❤️ Fred was one of a kind.
@@valentinogal781 I particularly loved his dancing with Ginger Rogers

I haven't seen this movie for a while, but doesn't the character played by Gene treat Nina Foch's character rather badly, or I have I forgotten part of the plot?
I guarantee that you have not. Nina Foch's character, Milo, is very much in love with Gene Kelly's character, Jerry. Milo happens to be rich and when she admires Jerry's paintings and buys them, she also makes it clear that she has affection for him and is very obviously flirting. She even actually pays for him to have so much materials so that his career will take off, all while he never reciprocates or tries to spend time with her otherwise. Also, instead of Jerry gently telling her that he's in love with someone else, he drags her along as a backup plan, when Lise breaks things off with him, he goes to Milo, tells her he loves her back, then when they go out the same night he tells her he lied and that she was a rebound relationship. So, in short, he strings an orphaned rich woman that's in love with him along as a backup plan when there isnt even a doubt in his mind that he doesnt love her. Also he was very clearly a stalker and sexual predator towards his lady love, Lise
TLDR even though he knows that Nina Foch is in very much in love with him, he strings her along and allows her to keep giving her money for his benefit so that he has a backup plan in case he cant win his crush, lies to her, and causes her misery instead of letting her down gently.

J'aime le respect à l'echelle humain.
Are you gonna make it?
An American in MGM sound stages, he never got near Paris.
You must be fun at parties.
🎬 For this film, correct,
however Gene Kelly had a comfortable mastery of French, which he studied in college 📚 along with economics, and law. ⚖ ⬇️
As a dancer🕺, he studied French writings on that subject, reading them in their original language in order to appreciate fully what was being said. 📚
Gene Kelly successfully embodied the French esprit in his role as a WWII prisoner of war in the 1943 film The Cross of Lorraine. 🎬
Later, after WWII, he spent a week in Paris, auditioning hopefuls for roles in the artistic musical tribute to France, An American in Paris. 🎭
He fell in love with France, and they loved him right back for his earnestness in capturing their sensibility on film as well as his unique combination of vigor, and elegance. 🌹 ❤⚘
📍Case in point:
Gene's homage to Toulouse Lautrec's artwork 🖌 in the "American in Paris ballet." 🎨
During the early 1950s, Gene, and his wife Betsy, along with their daughter Kerry, lived in🛫 London, and Paris🛬 to take advantage of tax benefits, and to afford him the opportunity to make films for MGM using European resources. 🎬
Later on, he produced, directed, and appeared in several more films set in France as well as composed 🎼 a jazz ballet for the Paris Opera, appeared in advertisements for Air France✈, and spent time there whenever he could.
The language, artistry, and way of life in France inspired Gene Kelly and captured his heart. 🌹❤⚘
🇫🇷 The French people honored his devotion to their country with two national awards:
The Legion of Honor, and The Commander of Arts and Literature. 🙌 🇫🇷
Oscar Levant.
Sad but this Paris and it's people no longer exist.
But the real Paris and people do....I lived there for years. Wish I'd never left.
I thought was American werewolf kkkk
Paris is dirty
Singin in the rain is way way better than this overrated best picture winner.
None of the other 1951 nominees were better than Anerican in Paris. It deserved the award that year:
Decision Before Dawn,
A Place in the Sun,
Quo Vadis,
A Streetcar Named Desire
And Singin in the Rain was an okay movie, but NOT the best picture of 1952. Any of these are more deserving:
The Greatest Show on Earth,
High Noon,
Moulin Rouge,
The Quiet Man
I actually find them both equally wonderful
Poor Gene Kelly. Terrible smile. So artificial. Ruined what wasn't a bad movie. Sincerity is hard to fake.
I rather spend 10 minutes with my mother in law than watching this.
Michael Carranza jajajajaja sii
the hero looks gay, the girl looks like a boy, and i look totally uninterested.
So why are you here, dipshit?
Kinda 😅
You could go to sleep instead.
