The Collector is such a well executed film. An antagonist who’s unique and mysterious and a protagonist the audience can actually root for.
The Collector is a very underrated horror film. It’s definitely great!
It’s incredible. If it were made to a prequel to Saw like it was planned to be, I would’ve disliked it.

The toy factory scene in childs play 2 was pure nightmare fuel. First time I saw it I got a head ache when chuck’s head exploded.

I always thought the ttagline on the Evil Dead remake “the most terrifying film” was a tribute to the original, which was always quoted as the most terrifying & brutal film when I grew up.

I felt the same way when I saw the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in theaters! That movie and the first Final Destination were my scariest movie experiences.
Child’s Play 2 is one of my all time favorite horror movies also!
Child's Play 2 would be my #1 too. Possibly my favourite slasher movie of all time. Love how it comes full circle starts at the Toy Factory and ends at the Toy Factory. Solid list man.

Child's play 2019 is such a clever movie, have seen it a few times now and there is a lot more subtext to it than you would think. You really see the friendship between Andy and Chucky, which was never shown before. It's a different type of movie to the original, I'd place it very high in my list. Excellent soundtrack as well

Prequels have always been divisive but I believe they occur when writers have run out of fresh ideas and think that giving every key character and element of the narrative a back story somehow imparts greater gravitas. The vast majority of prequels I'm aware of, regardless of genre, have won far higher acclaim from critics than fans, which is significant! When I start a book I don't immediately turn to page minus one! Thanks for keeping life interesting Cody👍😄👋

This was a great list. I had difference of opinions but after hearing your reasoning on some, I could see why you placed some where you did. Kinda made me rethink my own opinions. 😄
But I subscribed the moment you mentioned being a horror fan from 3 or 4 because that was me. I remember watching a Friday the 13th marathon on Halloween at, like, 3 after finishing trick or treating. I know my parents took a lot of flack for letting me watch the 80s horror movies (Nightmare, Child's Play, Friday the 13th, etc.) and for taking me to see the 2nd Final Destination for my 8th (or 9th?) birthday. But I thank them because it gave me an appreciation for film and makeup affects (practical effects are always better, imo) in general as I grew older. So I love seeing someone else who have loved horror movies for huge percentage of their life.

Happy Halloween 👻. Great video! I’ve been looking forward to the 31 on 31 videos since you all started teasing us. Great choices for the top two, not my top two but definitely in my top 10. The only movies I haven’t seen on this list are the Collector movies but I am definitely going to watch them. Until you had reviewed them, I had NOT seen Psycho 2, 3, or 4. But I’m glad I did. Psycho 2 is really good and the other two are okay. My top two are Scream and Psycho.
I enjoy finding out what you, Bryan, and CP agree and disagree about. And I like hearing opinions other than my own.

Hell yeah dude amazing video you guys killed it this year. I called your number 1 because it would be my number 1 but damn thought tcm (2003) would be 2 lol. I've been waiting all year for this and it was well worth the wait, this was one of the things I was most excited for this year. I'm also so happy childs play 3 was top ten it would be in my top 5 it's my 2nd favorite childs play behind 2.

We have a lot of generational differences between us, but that was a fun watch and you are absolutely correct about that 3rd act in Child's Play 2. They went above and beyond!

Really cool list as always, love all the effort put in this!! I'm just sad that the first 2 TCM films are so low because they're some of my favorites lol
Anyway here goes for a top 10:
10 - Scream 4. The best Scream sequel, best Ghostface reveal, best kills in the series.
9 - Cult Of Chucky. I'M SORRY OKAY but this is one of my favorite Chucky sequels mainly because it's very artistic and I actually dig the humor of the movie. I'm sorry for this sacrilege lmao
8 - Psycho. I would put this above Psycho 2 because of the suspense, the masterful camera work and the great plot, but I 100% agree some of the acting is way too.. dated
7 - Child's play 2. The only thing you can do to get on par with a classic is make a super fun, balls to the wall sequel and god damn does Child's Play 2 kick some ass.
6 - Psycho 2. It doesn't have all of the charm that the original does, but the upped gore, the still relevant plot, and especially the acting make me like it a bit more. Also Meg Tilly 😩👌
5 - Evil Dead 2. Speaking of fun sequels, this one is one of the most fun to me and the horror/comedy blend actually works pretty well
4 - Scream 1. It's not because it revitalized the horror genre, or because of the whodunnit aspect, or even the meta stuff that I love it so much, it's because of that god damn opening scene.
3 - Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2. By far the most fun sequel I've seen to a horror movie, and come on... Chop Top is like top 10 horror icon
2 - the original Child's Play. The only thing that puts it above Child's Play 2 for me is that I love the whodunnit aspect at the beginning, it's pretty unsettling to think Andy could be the one doing the killing.
1 - The original Texas Chain Saw Massacre. God what a masterpiece, I love every single aspect of it and I could talk about it for hours.
P.S. FOR NEXT YEAR'S 31 ON THE 31ST YOU SHOULD TOTALLY INCLUDE THE UNBREAKABLE TRILOGY

It's interesting seeing your list and your reasons for the placings and realizing that age is probably a factor. I'm about ten years older than you so I grew up with a lot of the movies you didn't. My top 5 from these franchises would be as follows.
