    Using the touchscreen boosting FPS may be a "touchboost" kind of thing. This is commonly used in Android smartphones: as soon as touch input is detected, CPU and GPU frequency are automatically increased for a while to ensure the device feels responsive to the user input.

      Everything being soldered is more of an ultrabook thing than an Arm thing. All of the x86-64 based machines are doing the exact same thing. They are focused on making everything as thin as possible, so daughter boards and the easy upgradeability that they bring are out. The good thing is that hardware requirements are not rising anywhere near as fast as they used to be for the type of workloads that machines like this are built to handle, so you don't really need to upgrade the computer during the typical life-span anymore as long as it was reasonably spec'd to begin with. Still, if you are worried about that, then hopefully Framework will release a compute module with an ARM processor on it as they always make their computers as upgradeable as possible.

    Seems to be under M1 GPU capabilities. That´s a fail if you ask me, considering it releases in mid 2024.

      Basically no game has support of arm that's the problem

      This is stock arm gpu so the performance is about the same you would find in an average android phone

      The issue is the games don't run natively on ARM, they use an emulator which drastically affects performance.

    1990s performance levels. this is a complete joke. I don't care that this laptop is "not for games". It's abysmal, that a laptop from 2024 can't run 15 years old games.

    AI powered PCs, everyone! They run like shit. Not surprising. If they can't even game, then I doubt they'd be of much use for high performance business tasks. The main problem being that most apps just don't account for ARM systems.

    • @JessicaFEREM
      @JessicaFEREM Před 10 dny +4

      support is getting better though.
      any app worth it's salt will be easily compileable on ARM. most linux apps are auto-compiled to arm, it's mostly the closed source hackjob apps that have trouble.

    • @TamasKiss-yk4st
      @TamasKiss-yk4st Před 10 dny

      @JessicaFEREM you can't compare Windows with MacOS, they made it differently, and that can decide it will be better or not.. Apple completly stopped to sell x86 when they released the M1, so developers when updated their apps, they had no chance just to uodate to ARM based app, but Microsoft just splited to 2 parts, and there are no living human who will happily choose the 5% market share and ignore the 95% of reachable users.. (alias it can be the same result like Windows Phone had, the first social network apps released after 3 year, when everybody leaved the platform because of the empt store..)

      @ALmaN11223344 Před 10 dny

      @@TamasKiss-yk4st You absolutely can compare them, just because Apple dove in headfirst doesn't mean Qualcomm gets a pass for lackluster performance. The M4 in the iPad is shitting all over the SDX, it's got 3 less cores, no fan, and a near identical multicore and dramatically superior single core to the SDX. Qualcomm is just doing what Qualcomm does, sucking.

      windows utself is working, it has been for like 5 years, on the pi4 and now pi5, no problems
      the problem perhaos you want to point out is compatibility, once this new arm platform becomes popular for the battery life and cpu performance it will get better, wimdows itself is just fine, well, it is fking windows, it spies all you do, fine in those terms
      what you have to complain about is compatibility with games, get your ideas together to make better hate comments
