Haha, that Autotempest commercial was one of the funniest ads I've recently seen!
yes!
What should I do if I have a car issue that lasts longer than 4 hours?? Asking for a friend…
LMAO seriously thou!
Haha for real
I, too, suffer from A.S.S. Thanks to Autotempest for enabling me!
Rotaries are so cool, you need to put like four different fluids in your car and the engine burns all of them at the same time. A technological marvel for the utterly deranged
Not in the real world thank goodness! 😅
@@fuelinjecteddreams I love when Ben picked up the coolant, that the bottle said Asian Cars🤣
@@rileyyoung4713that's because Mazda is a Japanese brand.
😂
Prev owner let the coolant seals go to shit, a symptom of driving a rotary like a piston, rotaries overheat if you don’t take care of them
23:42 when your friend doesn't give you a blanket at the sleepover
The ole pillow fort blanket.
this is funny af
I think he should open a little bit window for oxygen..? I know a few people died when sleeping in the car with windows closed.
@@Jimmy_Weilol cars aren't airtight. You're fine if you're not in an inclosed space with the engine running.
@@Hawk7886 yep, but carbon dioxide poisoning will happen without you even notice it, damage your brain, but I think this car is ok, not that sealed.
I've worked in the casino/gaming industry for around 7 years now and the best advice I've given people was just not to play, especially the slots. You'll always win if you don't play at all. And if by chance you DO win, gtfo out of there because you'll lose that too if you put it back in the machine.
I remember meeting a woman on NYE who won 31k. She played it back the same night and lost all of it. 😒
One of the only ways to play is as soon as the machine hits walk away. They are designed to pull you in with an early win. Mostly small but it normally hits within a few spins if not move on.
@@duanebailey6253 This is very true. I install and configure machines currently. There is some truth to them hitting more frequently when they're first installed but that still doesn't mean you're going to walk out with too much. I don't know all the details but basically it's some kind of random number generator that constantly resets every time it hits. I believe the more it hits, the tighter it gets. That's not confirmed but that's what it seems like.
Contrary to belief though, depending on where you are the state dictates the win percentage. And this percentage is set up during the install. So when people say, "you've tightened up the machines" and not entirely true. I mean, I'm sure it does happen but not as often as people believe. It's not a quick process and involves companies to literally have to re-configure each and every machine that's already set.
I had a guy calling our company because he thought something was wrong due to customers hitting the jackpot so often after an install. Here in the Illinois bar market, the jackpot can't go any higher than $1199 for a single payout without needing to be taxed. So they guy was complaining for having to do so many handpays. Lol. But that stopped after a month or so.
And that’s why I stick to blackjack. At least there I can just blame myself for making bad calls lol
My mindset when going in a casino is that my money is already gone 😂winning is just a bonus 😂 your paying for the fun. As long as you gamble your "extra money" you should be fine.
I prefer the stock market for my gambling.
I feel like we all owe Kenny a thank you and a fist bump so we could enjoy this video. Thanks Kenny.
I appreciate it
These road trip videos might just be the best thing on CZcams. Truly something I get excited for on Saturdays
Agreed! Its like Saturday morning cartoons but cool cars and great vibes 🤟🏻
I never expected A.S.S. would ever ne turned into a legit commercial..🤣🤣🤣
But isn't the A.S.S syndrome what defines car enthusiasts? If you want a tinker-free car, get an EV. You can only tinker with your car when it's broken.
Car enthusiasts all over the world, may your engines blow on a weekly basis and your trans chews its gears every other trip. Work on those cars
Babe wake up Bens just uploaded!
Plural the Bens ha
“i thought i finally was gonna have to buy something that wasn’t a 90s mitsubishi, but thanks to autotempist i have every dsm at my fingertips” made me belly laugh
The AutoTempest ad should be picked up and put on TV… if TV is still a thing. Awesome!
My DSM experience: bought a ‘91 Eagle Talon TSI (Eclipse GSX) in 1997. Had 80k; timing belt looked original; replacement interval was 60k. Immediately had it replaced.
Lasted 16k miles. Warranty was 10k. Every piston met every valve. Cost $2k to repair. I had bought the car for $4k.
Ultimately sold it with 128k on it for the same $4k I’d spent on it.
Totally. We're already posting it on our channels, it's so good. I wonder if it actually would work as a youtube preroll ad. Would be epic if so!
That statement although true is backwards, the eclipse gsx is a talon TSI. The talon came before the eclipse
@@autotempest it'll work better than any other preroll ad
The AutoTempest ad was the first ever sponsor announcement I didn’t skip through, very well done
"running off 100% PREMIX" killed me, one of the best road trips to date. Bunch of laughs. thank you!
I wish i could have seen the reaction of the people working for autotempest to have to watch and approve ads when you sent that to them 😂
It's Nathan, the founder - I handle most of these sponsorships myself. And to answer your question, I killed myself laughing, then forwarded it to my wife. First time I've done that for a sponsor integration I think!
@GEARS AND GASOLINE , please never change , you 2 are perfect together , the best driving show on youtube by miles.
A. S. S. commercial was gold. This was a great notification to get on the way home from Cars & Coffee. Love these road trips.

I really love this roadtrip series, but I can't help but wonder why Ben's got it so rough with the RX8... mine was never that thirsty, I was able to average 20-22 MPG's on the highway easy, going 80MPH, and The coolant is probably leaking, not burning... I don't see enough white smoke to think he's burning it 🤷♂
The stigmas the RX-8 has are all from the series 1 RX-8s. The Series 2 saw improvements in every area mechanically. The 6 speed transmissions in the series 1 are indeed very weak, but that is because the 6 speed from the NB Miata was used in those cars and are meant to be used with a motor that makes 100hp less than an RX-8’s renesis 13B. The series 2 6 speed transmission is a completely different trans and arguably Mazda’s strongest mass production transmission. They don’t break and very rarely have issues.
I knew utah's very own dorito yoda would chime in.
Turbo II transmissions are stronger im pretty sure
They have plenty more problems than that.
Try all this breaking regularly:
Centre console lid latch
Sun visor
Central locking
Window button
Cat
Leaking tail lights
Coolant sensor
O2 sensor
Secondary air pump
Airbag cover
Driver seat button
Clutch pedal support
Leaking tail lights
Coils, leads, plugs after 20k miles
Ssv
Probably more, I forget everything. I just drive mine around with check engine light on permanently and 50% of the time with the traction control light on
Met a lady last week bought her series 1 brand new she’s been the only owner had all the maintenance done and she has 212K miles only things she’s had to replace were the clutch and fuel pump maybe an outlier but impressive nonetheless
@@RockdaGamer yeah but the maintenance includes the list I posted above. Plus ignition system replaced every 50k miles.
You can call it maintenance it sounds better than bad design flaws
Autoalex probably could give you some tips for hypermiling a RX8 lol
Love this series so much!!!!!!!! I'm waiting on every new episode with excitement!!
ABSOLUTELY LOVE!! Please do this series more often yearly!!
I will love it aswell. but lets give them a break xD. Things like this is expensive since you got to refuel the whole trip back and forth. Oil change. Food. Hotels and some serious planning xD
The vibes of Ben driving a built motor car around while skipping the salt on his chips to save a few cents was very reminiscent of my younger years.
Car throttle went over 400 miles on an rx8 tank. I think he got around 27 mpg and that was on a street ported engine
Wasn't that thing the turbocharged 5-speed version?
He got 31mpg if I remember correctly.
Yeah, these guys just don't know how to work a rotary and then dog on it like it's the engine's fault, and not the users.
@@BelligerentHeritage This'd mean a lot more if every rotary guy I knew didnt have at least 2-3 engines. They just require more work, period.
@nolo2484 I don't know what kind of baller rotary friends you have, but I got my first rotary 22 years ago and have never left the rotary world, and know very few people who have actual issues with their engines. The ones that do are pushing high horsepower or just had a bad builder build their engine.
Having said that, I was a professional rotary engine builder for awhile. It's not hard to find someone who says they can work on rotaries, but couldn't tell the difference between a Phillips and flathead screw driver.
That dude hooked you up on your DSM repair cost! This is a really entertaining road trip.
The RX-8’s engine isn’t burning coolant. It’s spitting it out of the overflow tank. You should see it dripping out from the radiator area because that’s where it spits it out. Refill the overflow tank and be on your way.
Creative ads are the only ads i wont skip that was awesome
Just grabbed a cold one and LORD BEHOLD! The bois uploaded another roadtrip banger! Gonna enjoy that one! Thanks GandG!
New CTXP episode from Revzilla AND a new episode of G&G, today's a good day!
Don’t forget the new grand tour special
lmao When you're into motorcycles and JDM cars.
@@thumpertorque_hell yeah
"Ben's not going to be laughing when his rotary blows up."
Had me holding my sides. Keeo up the good work, fellas. Love these cross country road trips in less than ideal vehicles.
Best way to spend a Saturday morning!
4G63s are fine as long as you take the time to build them properly and then do good maintenance. Had my Galant VR4 for 9 years. Replaced the belt as soon as I got it and have done maintenance since. It has cams, head studs and a ported 16g running at 24 psi with all of the other required supporting mods. No catastrophic failure.
Top Gear Grade automotive and road trip entertainment series!!!😍😍😍
16 years and over 110k miles on my 97 GSX and it never left me stranded, honestly one of the more reliable vehicles I've ever owned.
Thank you for putting that intro out there to raise awareness for those of us "suffering" with A.S.S. so many people just refuse to acknowledge this condition. Friends, parents, spouses...they need to know so that they can finally understand that parking outside, riding in tow trucks, and having engine parts in the kitchen is just the new normal.
you guys owe kenny big time. when is your next video with them? he did an all nighter for yall
I base my Saturday morning routine around making sure I catch a G&G episode with my morning coffee. Am I the only one that caught Ben's Kum n Go hat? Keep up the awesome work. I always look forward to your episodes.
That was a Super Bowl - caliber commercial for Autotempest! Thanks guys that was a good laugh!
Honestly the road trip videos are the reason why i watch Gears and Gasoline, great job to all.

These road trips are so much fun to watch. I could watch a new episode every day & be happy to do so. I really wish I would've known you were coming all the way to Utah, I would have driven 6 hours from SLC, to meet you guys. Lucky for you & the trip the "winter" we're having this year is SOO mild compared to normal.

Tv quality programming very awesome - thanks for sharing the experience!
Bens little nod after he clicks on another DSM is perfect.
Your guy's road trips are amongst my favorite vids on CZcams. It may not be "original," but I get some relaxation from them. Kind of makes me think about The Grand Tours' current format... with only a little less of a budget 😂
I’m sure I’m not the only one who does this but I only come back to watch this channel whenever there is a road trip series so please DONT EVER STOP MAKING THESE JAWNS 😂😂by far one of my fav series on CZcams
