Two heated rivalries will come to a head Saturday, Sept. 10 in a historic championship doubleheader at the O2 Arena in London.
The previously announced main event will see two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields, the WBC/WBA/IBF/Ring Magazine middleweight champion, aim to once again become undisputed at 160 pounds by facing longtime rival and WBO titleholder Savannah Marshall.
Shields and Marshall faced off as amateurs, with Marshall edging Shields by decision at the 2012 AIBA Women’s World Championships in Qinhuangdao, China. Shields went 77-1 as an amateur and is the only female boxer to win undisputed titles in two weight classes.
In the co-feature, Mikaela Mayer will look to get one step closer to becoming the first undisputed champ in her division by putting her WBO/IBF/Ring Magazine junior lightweight titles on the line against WBC champion Alycia Baumgardner.
A total of seven world titles and two Ring Magazine belts will be on the line.
Promoted by Salita Promotions and Boxxer, in association with Top Rank, Shields-Marshall, Mayer-Baumgardner, and undercard bouts will stream live and exclusively in the U.S. on ESPN+

In my town we had a local boxer name chris and planning to fight another local boxer j paul he was on swamp people. Well I ask Chris you think you can beat j paul he said yes I did before. Well the fight came up. Just before the fight my brother in law told me yeah chris beat him when he was 10 and j paul was 8 in school. I lol well anyway the fight ended 2nd round two for j paul

Marshall can fight...absolutely. She would not have made it into this match otherwise. HOWEVER...her skill set is nowhere near what Shield's brings. I understand marketing the fight and all...but let's be honest. Shields is the pinnacle of elite...and Marshall 'can fight'. That about sums it up.

Laila Ali, Anne Wolf, Lucia Rijker, Amanda Serrano, Christy Martin, Cecilia braekhus, Marshall, Amanda Serrano etc... All gets KO'S in 2 minutes round.

Clarissa Shield beat Marina Volnova really bad give her two standing 8 counts should have been three or four but the bell just ring and save her. Final scores was something like 32 to14. Shields at 17 yrs old went on to win TheGold Medal

I just don't like all that talking comparing this and that saying I got all the belts. When you get punched and feel the power all those belts don't matter. In 1998, a unit of British Royal Marines came onto our ship (U.S.S. Belleau Wood) during a training exercise and ate with U.S. Marine and Navy personnel. They were some of the most personable, discipline Marines we've ever met. As far as who's tougher, that depends on heart, training/experience and physiological/psychological aptitude. Americans have a tendency to look at any challenge, minute or grande, as a fight. We sometimes exaggerate our predilection to diplomacy but in all actuality we have a mindstate and unfortunately a emotional connection to violence. We've just celebrated July the 4th, by the way.
