Yes, he's also great at not telling a story at all. There's a difference between being cryptic and just not giving a story. The key to being cryptic is having the whole picture first before cutting them up into pieces for others to solve. You don't keep making new pieces, there will never be a complete picture no matter what. Springtrap has to be the biggest plot device so far with the magical excuse of it being a mascot and a animatronic hybrid, and that if it malfunctioned it could kill someone inside. I don't know why anyone would invent this and then actually use it. It just seems like a way to get Purple Guy to die while still keeping with the animatronic motif.
Why people think this has such a great story boggles me. Its a great game but its story is like a piece of bread with a fancy name at some high end restaurant people keep saying is "The Best" because everyone else is saying it.
I can answer why people like the story.
Internet logic.
I liked the story....at first like st the first game when you figure it out and what's going on I'm just like "wow that's interesting a few holes but it's just a little game nothings perfect " and then he came out with 2 and I'm like "great maybe he'll flesh it out more" and then just came a spiral of what's going on and confusion and then realizing the answer was so simple 😃 he's making it up 😑 he had a story a good concept and a great delivery but either he didn't think it'd get as big as it did or just didn't realize his own plot holes and ended up desperately trying to hide in answers when originally there were none

MatPat's episode on FNAF 4 is not his best because he applies logic to something that is not confirmed and says it breaks the entire game logic apart in a way that I found to be a little bit boastful. Plus there was a whole brouhaha where Scott Cawthon commented on the video and he himself deleted the comment later because people were using it as a license to harass MatPat, but people just assumed MatPat was the one who deleted Scott's comment, it was a mess.
The video MatPat made *after* that one on FNAF pretty much says it wasn't even right, so if you feel like skipping it you're not missing anything.
+Sperium3000 Except MatPat wasn't trying to make a FNAF lore theory in that video, he was just stating that it would be impossible for him to have nightmares in the first place. It was purely a scientific thing that had nothing to do with trying to explain the story.
Agreed, it would be better if they just watch FNaF Will Never End and just skip FNaF 4 Got It All Wrong, right?

You know, if you really enjoy RWBY, then a good series you may want to check out is a series called Dead Fantasy probably got a bunch of request to them already, they are works by Monty Oum's before he joined RT, not sure if it was before or after Haloid though. Still a thought to check out.

oh god, I may have found a loophole! if scot was intending 3 to be the last story based fnaf game (4 doesn't really count in this part, its just about a kid in the hospital, not the fnaf lore), then this new game, fnaf, SISTER LOCATION (key to this bit of info) then him saying that there was a malfunction in the sister location. and what's the new game (fnaf 5, THE SISTER LOCATION) called? oh right, I just said. butanyways, I'm thinking that either scot intended this fifth game (not counting world in this either.) or scot just made a loophole in naming it the sister location. but who knows.
