  • The Fraxel Restore (Fraxel Dual) is a non-ablative fractionated skin resurfacing laser featuring two wavelengths 1550 and 1927. Today's video features a special appearance by Dermatologist Dr. Lina Kennedy who explains the results of this treatment. In addition, I discuss the benefits of each wavelength and what it does for the skin. I take you through the entire experience of getting the treatment. I also address commonly asked questions regarding skin resurfacing for hyperpigmentation, safe ways to treat melasma and skin of color and the difference between ablative and non-ablative laser resurfacing.

    I had the fraxel dual laser yesterday. I numbed for an hour with the numbing cream and incidentally took 5 mg of vicodin at the same time. My pain level was very low, just minor stinging towards the end of each section. By comparison the pain was very much less than having an in-office red light treament. Today I am red and my face feels hot. I'm using the Alastin kit including the cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I can't wait to see my results.
    EDIT: One month after my first fraxel laser. My skin looks smoother and clearer. I can see real results, diminished brown spots, red places, fine wrinkles, and AKs. I will be getting a second procedure next week. The downtime was about 8 days for me.
    After my second fraxel, I see more improvement in dark spots, redness, and rough scaly patches. I'm now wearing just tinted sunscreen as my makeup, whereas before the procedures I was wearing full coverage foundation! I am very happy with my early results, and my doctor says my skin will continue to improve as the collagen builds up. I expect full results in 6 months.

    Thank you! I had fraxel about a week ago (also done by Dr Kennedy 🙂) and you documented the whole process extremely well. I did have quite a bit of drying and aquaphor provided the most relief. I love how my skin looks 👍🏼

    What energy level was used during your procedure? I did Fraxel Dual at 20mJ and it was way too low for my needs, I had no pain, no redness, no peeling, no results either. I was not even barely pink next day. It was very expensive. Also doctor said I have to choose between 1550 and 1927, she could not do both in one procedure. I don't know how to find a good provider. Either extremely conservative or very sloppy, nothing in between. I will waste a lot of money until I find a half decent provider :(

      Same. I had my first one few days ago no redness no peeling, it was very low just to get me do more sessions to get more money :(

      I see this with most providers, they need to get to know your skin until they can play around with the energy level. These procedures are very expensive, but make sure you tell the provider how your skin reacts and that you are ok with higher energy. Don’t be shy

    When did you start using sunscreen. Did you stay indoors during the healing process . Just had fraxel duel on my face and neck and I am 5 days out and still not peeling. Using the skin nectar but still really dry. Also using recovery balm. Can I use sunscreen over recovery balm. Than you

    Can I get this type of laser treatment with a face lift that included fat transfer ?

    How does fraxel compare to halo?

    What's the possibility of the laser reaching the facial fat like morpheus8 can? I don't want to risk affecting/losing facial fat, but I have a Fraxel Dual laser scheduled this week for scarring. Is there a risk of this?

    • @theocbeautymd
      @theocbeautymd  Před rokem +2

      The laser is much more superficial. It targets the dermis so the risk is minimal
