I just watched my widowed mother die in a hospital surrounded by her children. The ole man died a year and a half before her but we all took care of her. No better feeling in the world especially when your time is ending than to have the love and support from the family she sacrificed for. Her end was peaceful and beautiful for her. That’s life.

He said it was done by the STATE providing For grandma and grandpa, and thus removing the true wisdom of the ages from the family...In Prior times it was the children's responsibility to care for their parents in their old age. This gave the oldsters a place of respect in the family with their wealth of experience...and so removed a vast piece of time perspective.

I used to work and care so much about my career and then I realized that I missed my son growing up 😢! I was blessed with a hard working husband ( blue collar) who made just enough where we didn’t have extra…but my youngest son had a Mom to come home to. My family gives me more joy than money and they grow up so fast!

No argument here. I've said for years the greatest evils come from the destruction of the family unit. I'm 63 and came from a poor neighborhood. But every kid I knew had a two parent family and their own house. Your parents were the law. There were lines you didn't cross. If you screwed up everybody knew about it and you were dealt with shortly. If we had it hard, we dealt with it. You didn't whine. Nobody was entitled. Now? I don't even know what the world of humans has become. I'll be gone soon enough. I don't want to see anymore.

Just because these women can't get married, don't ruin it for everyone else. I've been happily married for 27 years. I know plenty of couples who have been married for more than 10 years.

I’m 54 years old and all of my closest friends have all been married for 20+ years.
52 years for us. And she stayed home with our 3 boys whilst I supported us with my blue collar job. But we were far from rich; old cars, no health insurance, garage sale furniture, etc.
20 yrs this month, we are truly blessed 🙏🙏

I would give up my right to vote to be a homemaker, never go to war, never be forced to manual labor. Home cooked meals and clean socks and underwear for everyone around!
Not allowing no-fault divorces. I was surprised by a divorce last year. I would have never gotten a divorce if I was offered a choice.
You can have those things and still vote. No draft. No actual work. No real responsibility. Like a child. That's women.

My wife stayed home with our three kids from birth through high school. I worked long hours in remodeling and we made it work. In fact, it was the best decision we ever made!

Using TV or any other type of electronic media has never been a good idea to babysit children.
With the exception of many earlier TV shows such as Little House on the Prairie, which often had storylines that were lessons in morality.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand your point, but there are valuable lessons that can be learned from TV… after all, it’s just scripted scenes of everyday life. It’s no different than plays/stories being used in ancient times to teach people lessons. Think of it as a lengthy parable.
The format doesn’t matter, it’s the content that needs to be worried about. Heck, before TV, parents would tell their kids to go read a book.

Sorry to say it can be done today. I homeschooled my two girls, adopted a boy. My husband( a highschool grad) worked. We have done well. I was mom, teacher, home maker, scout leader…we got kids thru college with no debt. We didn’t get the latest and greatest but we did well. 🙏
It's other women and media that shame women into thinking they need a job in order to get "validation" or "purpose."" So then they get jobs, so they can barely get by, since they are now paying other people to watch their children and missing out on all the important milestones.
Luckily your husband got paid well. Not everyone has a trade/skill.

The institution of marriage is a total mess. I don't know what the solution is, but legally in the USA, it's the worst contract a man could ever agree to.
The government needs to get out of it. Marriages which are a bond of holy matrimony should be handled in the church only. The church should issue a certificate and thats it. Marriage licenses have ruined a lot of great relationships.
