Great video lads. We had a yoke at home years ago for slicing up turnips for the cows. It had a big crank handle on the outside that turned a big disc with the sliceing parts. It was made by Pierce's in Wexford.

We last grew sugar beet in 1984 that was when the sugar quotas started and ended up with about 800 ton sold that all over the country Father Phil was correct when he said beet harvest was a high maintenance machine, there was always nearly 2 hrs maintenance at the end of a long day along with greasing bearings etc etc another great video

Good video Phil fodder beet is great for sheep keep weight on also feeds cattle well you need some fat there , it makes better beef dairy beef is hard to fatten , fresain or jersey tend to put alot of fat on you must be a good man who can keep them lean
