The videos with your father are brilliant. I could stay listening to the man all day. Seems to have a great brain about machinery and farming methods in general. Keep it up. And by the way, the boss is a better title, because as someone who comes from a farming background, your father is the boss until he's gone. All the best to you both.

    Great video lads.
We had a yoke at home years ago for slicing up turnips for the cows. It had a big crank handle on the outside that turned a big disc with the sliceing parts.
It was made by Pierce's in Wexford.

We last grew sugar beet in 1984 that was when the sugar quotas started and ended up with about 800 ton sold that all over the country Father Phil was correct when he said beet harvest was a high maintenance machine, there was always nearly 2 hrs maintenance at the end of a long day along with greasing bearings etc etc another great video

Great to hear Father Phil and his beet stories Well I remember the old armer harvester great machine for their time I went from pulling beet by hand to doing it with a joy stick Seen an armer harvester in the south island of Nz some years ago The armer did not like frosty leaves, I guess father Phil had a few big beet come over the front guard and take off the exhaust or take the back glass scary Happy days all from Oz
