The issue with Wii is that there are a lot of really great games that were hampered and made frustrating because of the input control, the Wii remote. I really really hated playing Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy on Wii. For an important function to be programmed to a physical movement is asinine. When these games were remastered and brought to Wii U and Nintendo Switch with proper tactile controls, the games played perfectly, no issues with input whatsoever! I am just so very happy that Nintendo has gone back to traditional tactile inputs with their games, relegating motion controls as an option or to enhance aiming mechanics (which is a wonderful use for it!).

4 out of 5 of the games in this video, I wasn't surprised that they would be the ones that were made by Data Design Interactive, who had a large control of profits from the Wii software library with a lot of low quality recycled garbage. And to think that Ninjabread Man first started as a Zool 3 and the fact that they not only recycled the game once with Rock n Roll Adventures, but 3 times with Trixie in Toyland, Anubis II, and Casper (though that only came out on the PS2 in Europe, which DDI also had a control of over there as well).

For Orbs of Doom, at least in Marble Madness from 1984 you can pick up where you fell off. Level restarts are not only brutal but inexcusable in modern games. Ninjabread Man had a lot of potential as an idea, such the let down. Wii had many terrible games due to controls, but plenty because of story and design as well. Some I would include are Alvin and the Chipmunks, Beastly, Excite Truck, Pictionary, Rayman Raving Rabbis 1 & 2, Six Flags Fun Park, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels, X-Men: Destiny, and the Wipeout series.

I had a wii game called "build-n-race". You could make your own tracks, which was fun to do. But the actual car physics sucked. Like the cars drove fine, but the steering was stiff and felt like you were glued to the road and you had to slow down a whole lot to make tight turns. You couldn't really drift. Plus there were cars in the back of the case that weren't even in the game.

    Thank you for the video!
I started collecting "Old" video games several years back, and the Wii has made it to my list of old systems. One of the local video game stores had tons of Wii games, some for as low as 10 cents, so I spent a small (very small) fortune on dozens of video games, and these were all in there. I have to agree, they are all unplayable. The only one I really hoped would be good was Kawasaki Jet Ski. That game was purchased several years ago, and I put about 10 minutes of my life into it before it went into the vault...forever.
In my opinion, Wii Sports is the best game ever made for the Wii, which is too bad. It set such a high expectation, and since it came with every Wii, people got to be disappointed over and over again when they bought new games. There were a few exceptions (Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Bros, etc.).
I have about 300 physical games for the Wii, and maybe 25 of them are worth playing more than once. Most of the playable ones are games I went out and purchased intentionally as my kids asked for them.
I see there have been almost 1600 games released for the Wii, and don't think that 25 mentioned above would grow by a whole lot.
    My $0.02

Ninjabread Man really is an awful game. It was originally released on PS2 and Windows in Europe around two years before it was ported to Wii. You should try “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer”. It was suppose to be based on the 1964 Christmas special, and the graphics looked pretty good, as they gave it that film graininess and dust/dirt that you get from the TV special, and the character models were very true how they appeared in the 60’s. However, the voice acting was also a let down as the voice of the Snowman narrator (and the Snowman looked liked Burl Ives just like the TV special) didn’t even sound close to how Burl Ives’ sounded in the 1964 special. They could’ve at least got the guy who voiced the Snowman reporter in the 2001 “Rudolph and the Island of Misfit Toys” and made the snowman look like that character. But, nope the voice didn’t even sound like that guy! Plus, the Wii game only lasts for 11 minutes and it’s 4 mini-games--it plays more like a demo than an actual game!. At least the DS version had over an hour of content.

Ooh! I have one that is far, far worse than any of those. So bad it wasn’t worth it even if it was free. We bought it used for $5, for our kids, just a “this should be fun for a few hours” purchase. It’s only $5, right?
Wrong. I present “M&Ms Beach Party” for the Nintendo Wii. If Nintendo had any minimum quality standards at the time, I’d be shocked. “It booted up” must have been as far as they tested.
This game is so pointless, so broken, so badly made, we forced the retailer refund our money - not because $5 was that important to us, but because this game was so bad it was truly insulting.
Definitely the worst I’ve ever played, on any system, ever in my decades of gaming. Even for very small children, it was a complete and frustrating waste of time. It’s not even in the “it’s so bad, it’s good“ category - whoever developed this mess should be ashamed.

Then I get the Wii form, and I'm like, "Wait....I'm just some rogue hunter with a bow killing humans and flying through obstacle courses? There's not even a good story in this game! The graphics are so late 90's, the levels are boring, and I don't even get to choose sides for crying out loud!"

By its nature shovelware has to be cheap to produce. During the Wii's generation, a big issue was that the PS3 and X360 were expensive to develop games for because of the switch to HD. Normally shovelware gets spread out across all platforms but in this case it was not economically feasible so all the shovelware flowed to the one console where it could still be made affordably, the Wii. So in theory the Wii probably got three consoles' worth of shovelware. Since then true shovelware of this magnitude has moved to phones. With most old consoles I'm willing to take a gamble on a random title I've never heard of if it's only a couple of bucks but not the Wii. If I have not heard that a Wii game is good from multiple sources I'm not going anywhere near it.

Those last two games make me think of Bubsy 3D for some reason, maybe that should have been ported to the Wii. It would have fit right in with the rest of the shovelware lol.
I honestly can't name any really terrible games that I've played on Wii, mostly because I'm typically picky with the games I play especially those I buy. I only have a few Wii games anyway which are Xenoblade Chronicles (my favorite), Metroid Prime Trilogy, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Mario Galaxy 2, Smash Bros Brawl, The Last Story, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, WarioWare Smooth Moves, Super Paper Mario, and easily the worst game I have... My Sims.
I only got My Sims because of PeanutButterGamer, just to see if it was as bad as he made it seem lol. Is My Sims a good game? No. Is it as bad as some of those shown in this video? Not really, though I'd call it mediocre... maybe average if I'm in a good mood.

Ten Pin Alley 2 made me rage so bad. The original Ten Pin Alley on the Saturn was so good and fun, and the sequel was supposed to originally come out on the PS2 and the original Xbox. It got shelved until Wii Sports came out and got insanely popular for its bowling game. So they brought Ten Pin Alley 2 out for the Wii and it’s total garbage. Controls are completely broken. Avoid at all costs. Play the original, or Wii Sports bowling.

There is a game called Cabela's hunter which is fine until you get to the bowhunting where they forgot to make the animals ever get within hunting distance and you have to take pot shots in the air timing it to lucky hit the close stuff if that happened. However the bow-fishing worked fine when I saw and tried that. The game other then that did not suck, just that one part and boy was it a big mistake. How we got the Game I forget other then it must have been on sale at a Cabela's for around or under $10 USA.

I had the bad luck of picking up orbs of doom! But that’s why I wanted to say something about collector’s staying away from Wii games! The overwhelming Over abundance not only bad games but games period that nothing is really worth collecting in my opinion unless it’s was a Wii only game! Some remastered physical edition of some Sega Saturn games for the Wii is the exception for this rule. But not by much! I have a Wii( who doesn’t?) and some games but I refuse to pay very much for anything on the Wii. I wish that they would have made another physical release of Nights Journey of Dreams on the Sega Saturn on the Wii for another console but it is what it is! Just my opinion and almost all my friends say the same exact thing about the Wii! I paid $10 for Wii console in the box never opened up until I bought it. I feel I probably paid to much!

Rock and Roll Adventure really missed a beat. They could have made level music with certain instruments out of whack and you have to recognize the instrument to make it play correctly. It could have at least been somewhat educational..

You know a "worst" Wii game list is cliche and or stereotypical if any title by Data Design Interactive is on there.

  • @johnbakasmoothhotchocolate

Most, if not all of the games from Data Design blow. Banana Blitz is better than the first game in the list, and Wave Race Blue Storm for the Gamecube controls better than the Kawasaki game.
